Yu Fei looks at the TV without blinking. And she keeps thinking about that black car she saw on the balcony. She hesitates for a while and finally musters up her courage trying to call Ko Chen. She unlocks her phone and finds Ko Chen’s number.
Her finger remains above the screen and she stares at his name. She can’t make up her mind to call him.
“Little dolt. Why would I come to you if I don’t love you.” Says the male protagonist on the TV.
His words catch Yu Fei’s attention again. She looks at TV and seems to think about something. Her doubts are answered by that male protagonist.
“That’s right. If Ko Chen doesn’t love me anymore, why would he go all the way across half of the city to her house and drove away secretly?”
This makes sense. Yu Fei finally makes up her mind and touches the screen. It takes less than two seconds for her to dial that number. When she hears that “do do” sound on the phone, she is so nervous that she swallows.
It’s been a while but nobody answers the phone. Yu Fei looks disappointed. She makes a bitter smile. She seems to have over-thought. If Ko Chen doesn’t even answer her phone, how is it possible that he still loves her?
When she thinks that he is not going to pick up the phone and is about to hang up, Ko Chen answers the call. She hears his voice and some kind of noisy music through the phone.
“Hello?” Ko Chen’s voice is cold. Even though he is in a noisy environment, his tongue is still cool, which makes people feel a sense of alienation.
The moment Yu Fei hears his voice, her words are stuck in her throat. She forgets what he planned to say and she doesn’t speak a word even though she tries to.
