Chapter 498 Black Infernal Array

Nie Li and Yu Yan sped through the Nether Realm, streaking across the air.

The cities they passed lay empty. Not only did all fifteen cities lie deserted, but even the wilderness that once bustled with Troglodytes, Dark Elves, Golems, and Tailed Men now stood abandoned, as if war had ravaged the entire realm.

"All fifteen cities are deserted… something must've happened here!" Nie Li muttered with a sense of unease rising in his heart.

He released his consciousness, stretching toward the Nine-Layered Deathlands.

Although powerful laws protected the Nether Realm, they couldn't stop Nie Li's consciousness. He saw nothing but ruins, and the first six layers stood completely empty.

Above the sixth layer, an invisible barrier shimmered with flickering black flames that glowed and extinguished repeatedly.

"Black flames? It looks like master should still be safe for now!" Nie Li breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of the black flames. He accelerated with Yu Yan, heading toward the Nine-Layered Deathlands.

This place stretched into a vast wilderness, its cracked ground spewing flames from deep beneath the earth. The searing heat swept across the land, so intense that anyone beneath the Black Gold rank would incinerate instantly.

This land was once uninhabitable, but it now swarmed with powerful cultivators. They sat cross-legged across the wilderness, pouring their power into the Black Infernal Tower.

Boom!

Black flames erupted from the top of the Black Infernal Tower and transformed into an ancient array that shielded the Nine-Layered Deathlands.

Above the Nine-Layered Deathlands, swarms of demon beasts hovered in the air, each radiated with powerful aura. Their robust figures loomed like towering hills as they attacked the barrier relentlessly below.

A barrage of attacks rained down upon the spiritual array. The array tottered, flickering like a candle in the wind, as if it might shatter at any moment. Yet, it held on stubbornly and refused to collapse.

Two figures hovered before the demon beasts.

One was a handsome man, hovering in mid-air. He radiated a faint white glow that stood out like a candle in the darkness.

The other was cloaked in black robes, who bowed obsequiously by the side. His face sharp, his eyes eerie, and just his appearance could send chills down spines. Looking at him would make one feel as if they were targeted by a venomous viper.

If Nie Li had been present, he would have recognized the black-robed man instantly—it was Ye Han!

Years ago, Ye Han had suffered grave injuries and fell into the abyss in the Nine-Layered Deathlands. Everyone had believed him dead, yet here he was, alive and radiating a frightening aura that surpassed all the experts present.

"Nether, why bother resisting in vain? I don't know where you found such a treasure, but the Nether Realm will fall sooner or later under my demon beast clan. When that happens, your people's fate will be even more miserable," sneered the handsome youth. His face was cold, like never-melting ice.

"So what if it does? No one in the Nether Realm is a coward," the Lord of Nether refuted coldly, hovering above the Black Infernal Tower.

"Why persist in this meaningless struggle? Given our years of rivalry, I can spare your life if you surrender the Nether Realm and submit to me. Though my demon beast clan are sworn enemies with the human clan, this human is willing to serve me like a dog. I, Zhu Long, can allow him to serve by my side. With your talent, you could become my right-hand man," said the handsome youth, glancing at Ye Han at his side.

He sneered, "Isn't that right?"

"It is my honor to serve as Lord Zhu Long's dog!" Ye Han replied, lowering his head like a hound.

"You despicable scum!" the Lord of Nether roared.

"Hahaha! What is despicable? The survival of the fittest. When I was chased by that brat, Nie Li, and fell into the abyss, you could've saved me as the Lord of Nether. Yet, you chose to stand by and do nothing about it," Ye Han crackled maniacally.

He continued, "But fate played a cruel joke. Not only did I survive the abyss, but I also obtained a shard of the Primal Chaos Spiritual God's divine spark! That old fool passed his divine spark's fragment to me after seeing my human bloodline, but I bet he didn't expect that I would use his divine spark fragment to open the dimensional world and slaughter the remnants of the Primal Chaos Clan and seized supreme power!"

Boom!

Ye Han unleashed a surge of primal chaos that slammed into the Black Infernal Array below, distorting it violently.

Under the immense backlash, the experts maintaining the spiritual array jolted, coughing out blood as rage twisted their pale faces.

"You treacherous bastard!" Luo Jian roared from within the spiritual array, gnashing his teeth in fury.

He had stepped into the Demigod rank through years of cultivation, becoming the Jade Seal Family's pillar.

"Oh? I remember you. You're Luo Jian from the Jade Seal Family, who once helped Nie Li," Ye Han sneered, his eyes gleaming coldly. "Once this turtle shell is broken, everyone from the Jade Seal Family will have to die!"

"So what? The Jade Seal Family doesn't fear death!" Luo Jian roared in response, joined by Luo Xiao, Luo Ming, and the others.

Not only the Jade Seal Family, but the other families also echoed their defiant rage. If they feared death, they wouldn't have held out for this long.

"How stubborn!" Zhu Long snorted, casting a disdainful glance at everyone before stopping on the Lord of Nether. "Since you insist on dying, I'll grant your wish…"

Zhu Long's robe fluttered as he pressed his hand downward. Terrifying ice laws released by him began coalescing into countless ice dragons, roaring as they slammed toward the Black Infernal Array.

Rumble!

The ice dragons clashed down on the spiritual array and distorted it violently. The entire scene turned apocalyptic.

The ice dragons shattered upon impact as strands of pitch-black and eerie flame laws fell onto the Black Infernal Array and clashed fiercely with the black flames on the spiritual array.

Sizzling sounds filled the air as the flames devoured each other. Fine cracks spread across the Black Infernal Array.

"Abyssal and lava laws… you devoured the Abyssal Spirit God and the Lava Spiritual God's divine spark?!" The Lord of Nether's face changed with disbelief upon sensing the black flames.

"Hahaha! You guessed it right! After I obtained the Primal Chaos Spiritual God's that old fool's laws, the Abyssal Realm and Lava Realm can no longer stop me! I have destroyed those dimensional worlds. Once I destroy the Nether Realm, I, Zhu Long, will become the supreme ruler of the Tiny World, mastering all laws in my grasp!" Zhu Long laughed.

He continued, "Given the Tiny World's special nature, once I return to the Demon God Sect, I'll claim a high position as a deacon and wield supreme authority!"

Boom!

Abyssal meteors rained from the sky, smashing onto the Black Infernal Array. The entire spiritual array shook under the impact, teetering on the verge of collapse.

Fury blazed in the Lord of Nether's heart.

He muttered, "This is bad… I never thought that Zhu Long had devoured so many laws. It's all Ye Han's fault! If he hadn't betrayed the human race and gave a share of the Primal Chaos Spiritual God's laws to Zhu Long, he would never be able to break through the Primal Chaos Family, guarded by a wisp of Zi Xuanzhu's clone!"

The Lord of Nether channeled his laws into the Black Infernal Tower. The tower, fueled by the influx of laws, released torrents of fire dragons that strengthened the Black Infernal Array. The other experts within the spiritual array also poured every ounce of their strength into the tower.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Black flame dragons soared to the sky to patch the trembling spiritual array.

"If Nie Li hadn't told me about the Black Infernal Tower's origin back then and allowed me to seize control of it, the Nether Realm would've fallen long ago," muttered the Lord of Nether, looking at the tottering Black Infernal Array. "I can't let Zhu Long continue his assault. At this rate, the Black Infernal Array won't last much longer."

Anxiety gripped the Lord of Nether's heart.

"This turtle shell is tougher than I thought. Let's see how much longer you can last," Zhu Long sneered, his aura growing even more oppressive as he summoned the surrounding laws.

Boom!

The laws cascaded down like the collapse of a dam, and the backlash made the experts in the spiritual array cough up blood, their faces pale.

Yet none of them yielded. They gritted their teeth and poured every ounce of energy into the spiritual array, knowing none of them would survive if it collapsed. If they had to die, they would die fighting.

Seeing how everyone held on, Ye Han took a step forward and snorted, "How foolish! What's the point of resisting? Once the spiritual array breaks, you'll all become food for Lord Zhu Long's demon beasts. But I, Ye Han, am merciful. I will give you all a chance to live!"

He swept his gaze across the spiritual array and his gaze finally locked onto a person.

"Wu Yu, since you once took me in, I'll give your Wugui Clan a chance. If you're willing to defect and destroy the spiritual array, I'll spare your clan's life. How about it?" Ye Han snickered, his gaze on the Wugui Family in the spiritual array.

Wu Yu and Wu Hun trembled under Ye Han's words as they channeled their energy into the spiritual array. After all, who would want to die if they could live?

When they hesitated, experts of the Blood Demon Clan and the Jade Seal Family from the Blackrock City turned to look at them coldly.

The Wugui Family's members trembled under the icy glares and dared not make a rash move.

Back then, they had been spared because of Nie Li's leniency. If they dared to make a move now, they would be wiped out before they could do anything.
