Hi, everybody. We have started a new villainess novel. Unlike other novels, our MC is going to be a ruthless person who kills whoever threatens her life. Premise is quite interesting and it is written by a well known author, Haru no Hi. It is called The Villainess That Was Once A VRMMO player. You can read it HERE. Thanks for your time and hope that you will give it a try.
Xu Xinduo continued to inquire about Qiao Nian’s recent status and found that Qiao Nian was blending in behind-the-scenes recently and rarely ever came forward to deal with matters.
However, Qiao Nian was one of Lu Jinyou’s brokers and one of the shareholders of the company where Lu Jinyou worked.
Looking at these old matters, Xu Xinduo didn’t know whether the editor-in-chief knew about the conflicts between Yin Hua and Qiao Nian, leading him to arrange her cooperation with Lu Jinyou.
Now that she knew about the backstory of the incident, his display of having ulterior motives was an interesting move indeed.
However, if one remained ignorant about it by just treating those gossips as mere nonsense and refused to take it seriously at all, then it would be Xu Xinduo who was overthinking.
Xu Xinduo was caught in an extreme dilemma because she couldn’t figure things out, but she couldn’t really ask about it either.
She looked up at the clock and saw that it was already a little more than 1 o’clock in the morning. At that moment, she realised that she was kind of hungry.
She warned herself, you’re going to be a future model— you can’t have supper at late hours like this.
Her body replied to her mind, then you should just eat less instead of none.
So Xu Xinduo listened to her body.
She walked out of the room to look for some ingredients in the kitchen. Finally, she cooked herself half a bowl of udon noodles.
Xu Xinduo’s udon noodles were about done when she heard a resentful voice saying, “Eating alone?”
Xu Xinduo was startled as she turned around and looked at Tong Yan. She asked him, “Who are you trying to scare?”
“I wasn’t sneaking up on you when I came over; you were the absent-minded one.”
Xu Xinduo served the noodles and took the bowl to the dining table as she said at the same time, “I cooked a small portion only. If you want to, you can have this bowl and I’ll just cook some more.”
“No need for that, I just want to have a bite,” Tong Yan trailed behind Xu Xinduo the entire time, leaning his posture downwards as if he was planning to eat some of her noodles.
Xu Xinduo sat on a chair and picked up some noodles with her chopsticks.
Tong Yan stood beside her, leaning forward a bit more as he blew the steaming noodles carefully.
All Xu Xinduo could see was Tong Yan’s side profile. His lips were pouting when he blew the noodles, revealing a rather cute side to the usually-domineering man.
After Tong Yan had a mouthful of noodles, he pulled a chair and sat beside Xu Xinduo.
Xu Xinduo wanted to cook the noodles secretly, so she only turned on the lights in the kitchen. The lights in the dining room remained off, leaving the role of illuminating the space around them to the kitchen lights.
The dining room was very dark. Under the warm orange light, half of Xu Xinduo’s silhouette was hidden amidst the darkness. She had short hair and was wearing a black suspender nightdress that gave off a different charm.
Tong Yan sprawled his hands on the dining table as he watched Xu Xinduo eat. Suddenly, he reached out and curled a strand of Xu Xinduo’s hair, wrapping it around his fingers.
Xu Xinduo looked up at him and saw that he began to purse his lips again.
Obviously, he still couldn’t accept the fact that she had her hair cut short.
Xu Xinduo’s noodles were almost completely finished— she didn’t cook much, after all.
She pushed the bowl away and leaned on the table with her elbows. Inching herself towards Tong Yan and touching his bangs with her right index finger, she asked, “Brother Tong Yan, you said you like me, don’t you?”
Tong Yan was not afraid of violent storms nor was he afraid of thousands of troops. However, he was afraid of Xu Xinduo’s abrupt urge to tease him.
