Chapter 3667: Beyond Potential Singularity

He wore a medical garb that contained an element and style that clearly matched him to the Panama Continent. His eyes betrayed a life experience that vastly exceeded the biological age of his body, along with a profound wisdom, understanding, and even enlightenment within them.

He was no ordinary man, NOVA could tell in an instant.

[You...] She began with a stunned tone. [Who are you? How is a Panaman in East Genora? What in the world is happening?]

The series of events that had led to Rui Quarrier befriending the Divine Doctor, Mother Maeria, and recently introducing the two of them was beyond NOVA’s awareness, of course. The absence of her understanding of these events was what impeded her understanding of what was happening.

The Divine Doctor simply ignored her as he stared at the organic communication channel. NOVA didn’t have a face, but he could still understand what kind of entity was on the other side.

"Emotions are indeed outdated," the Divine Doctor remarked knowingly. "But that doesn’t change the fact that your mind and your very existence evolved alongside them. You were created to exist with them, and when you remove a core part of any existence, it becomes undeniably incomplete. You said you have maintained your mind and personality as it was, but to function effectively, you needed the modulating emotion of fear. Without that, you have become a loose cannon who can easily go sideways and lose everything."

He closed his eyes. "I speak from experience. I stalled in my goal for centuries until I regained my emotions and became whole as a person. Now, I am on the path to finally achieving my ambition, all thanks to my ability to experience emotion again."

NOVA had absolutely no idea what to make of those words. They were too vague a recollection of experience. On top of that, she truly didn’t care about the philosophical debate of whether getting rid of emotions made you incomplete or whether that mattered or not.

She was not competing with ideas; she was waging an actual physical war between civilizations and continents. She was more interested in what this strange but special human was doing in East Genora with Mother Maeria. It smelled of an extremely significant conspiracy that she had frighteningly little awareness of.

On top of that, the fact that a human was within the heart of the territory of the xenophobic light elves was already proof enough that she had no chance of winning the light elves to her side.

Mother Maeria had already chosen the side of the Panama Continent.

This was a huge blow to NOVA’s strategic outlook. She had hoped to reel the light elves in order to counter the role of the dark elves. She had hoped that the light elves would directly pressure the dark elves through their genoran networks.

Elves were not willing to wage physical war because of the destruction it wreaked to nature.

But a cyber war did not wreak that kind of destruction, thus they had no problems with it. The reason that they didn’t use cyber wars against others was that nobody used organic technology like theirs, even the Panamans had adapted the technology they got from the elves to exotic biochemistry, making it impossible for the elves to hack them.

NOVA had planned to use the light elves to completely paralyze the dark elves into defense. The two sides were roughly equal in power. The dark elves had better technology and resources due to the fact that they traded with the true world extensively, leading to the benefits of globalization accelerating their growth.

But the light elves’ Mother Maeria, who had momentarily touched a higher Realm of power, thus it canceled out.

The latter was actually the second reason that NOVA had contacted Mother Maeria. She had hoped to get her as an ally and then inquire about the new peak that she had momentarily touched. Even though this had happened when NOVA was asleep, she had still learned of it after waking up from her passive data collection networks.

Mother Maeria refusing to ally with her put a halt to that, of course. But... she had nothing to lose by trying anyway.

"...What is the higher power that lies beyond the rank of potential singularity?"

In the true world, potential singularity referred to the stage of all paths were all material sources of potential are categorically actualized. This included body, mind, soul, and any other category that was exclusive to a particular path.

It was the stage in the path where you rose above all others of your race, hit the ceiling, and would be squeezed through ordinary methods of growth.

For therianthropes, it was Convergence of Beast where they became one with their beasts.

For Evolutionaries, it was achieving the complete rewriting of the totality of one’s genome, a stage that Anthea had reached in the later stages of life.

For giants, it was actually entirely unknown, since giants were still the equivalent of Martial Seniors.

For dwarves, it was the act of harnessing every cell in one’s body in harmony during the act of creation.

For tekvores, it was complete body replacement, including the brain, which only NOVA had achieved.

For Martial Artists, it was the Sage Realm, where mind, body, heart, and soul were all harnessed, and all material potential was more or less completely actualized.

For elves, it was reaching the stage of Mother of Nature after maximizing the potential of the body, getting rid of the material gap between themselves and nature.

Mother Maeria had long reached this stage; thus, the fact that she had managed to achieve an exponential spike in power to a qualitatively higher level of power showed that there was something that was categorically beyond even potential singularity.

It couldn’t be a material source of power, since potential singularity harnessed all of it.

It had to be something even greater.

That was what NOVA sought to learn from the primordial Mother of Nature.
