Chapter 3675: The Failure of Symmetric Warfare

VMMM...

The quantum supercomputer stretching more than a kilometer in length, hidden within the depths of Greater Tekvoria, hummed as NOVA processed an ocean of information effortlessly. She received reports of the meager gains that her destroyer submarines made in the depths of the Great Void Ocean with each operation.

[To think that this is all that can be done despite all the resources invested into the project. The results are 12.28% less than my models had anticipated.]

Still, she couldn’t afford to go all-out with this investment even if the ROI was not as good as she had hoped.

Some negatron matter was better than no negatron matter.

With no negatron matter, the deterrence from mutually assured destruction from weapons of mass destruction was gone. The way that nuclear deterrence or any other strategic deterrence worked was through an application of game theory, where each player realized that deploying weapons of mass destruction indiscriminately would lead to their own eventual destruction.

The entry of negatron matter changed those rules.

Those without negatron matter would not be able to deter those with it.

Since spatial anchors could be bypassed by one side and not the other, one side could just teleport the equivalent of a trillion megatons of TNT on the other side and utterly annihilate them without suffering the same outcome due to the other side being unable to make the same threat.

That was why NOVA and the other enemies of the true world dedicated countless resources to getting their hands on even a handful of negatron matter, even if it had to be pried away from the sea monster with great sacrifices.

They needed to have enough negatron matter to deter the Panamic Alliance from just teleporting siege attacks on their lands.

They were barely hanging on in that regard.

On top of that, the war against the Panamic Alliance had also stalled for various reasons. Partly because Prime Minister Edward was a formidable military strategist, partly because NOVA had underestimated Panamic unity, and partly because the Emperor of Harmony really came in clutch with his diplomacy, finding allies at rates that were equal to that of NOVA.

Even though they had exhausted the largest lists of allies in the past two months, the war still continued as both sides tried to convert the allies of the other side into their own!

This war was not ideological, which meant that there was no genuine hatred or divergence from either side. This meant that it was theoretically plausible for allies of one side to switch over if they truly felt the benefits were worth it.

Given that all of these alliances were brand-new and entirely done out of self-interest, neither NOVA nor Emperor Rael ever stopped reinforcing their own alliances and trying to chip away at their enemies’ alliances.

It had ended up being a tug of war that was slowly leading to a deadlock where neither side would be able to make too much progress.

The same was true for the actual military war, as well.

NOVA brought up an image of the world map with the marked war fronts changing in real time based on compiled satellite and surveillance data.

The three warfronts of the Kandrian Empire had managed to shockingly stabilize despite fighting three enemies. NOVA’s tekvores were forced to be redirected to the therianthrope front to defend the Acherialis, weakening their forces on the North-East side of the Kandrian front. Lord Vakratunda did a good job rallying more and more of his continent under his banner to fight against the tekvores, which forced NOVA to redirect more and more power to defend her nation from their relentless attacks.

The giants had been greatly stalled by the elves and the Panamic Alliance at the Eastern Front in the Great Nam Ocean. The elves, in particular, had grown stronger as they opened permanent wormholes through their Mothers of Nature and the oceanfront through which the Giants swam, allowing them to greatly deploy their power over massive ranges.

The sheer thrill and ecstasy, and finally having partially overcome their range limits, was so great that it even overcame their revulsion towards war. This was especially true for the light elves, who hated the giants for invading East Genora.

Of course, because of size limits to the portals, there was a throughput limit to how much energy and power they could transmit. But as negatron space-time technology grew more and more efficient with research and development, the wormholes would only grow larger and larger for less and less energy.

This meant that it was very unlikely that the giants would be able to break through and actually reach the Kandrian Empire to inflict great destruction upon it.

Further down at the Southern Front, the Evolutionary Army had been stalled by the dwarves. Absent their former Supreme Commander, none of the evosapiens could crack the tough nut God’s Hammer!

Thus, until their Generation of Miracles matured almost two decades later, they would not be able to overcome the dwarves who held them off away from the Kandrian Front.

On top of that, the other half of their continent, the West Moridian Alliance, albeit weaker, had allied with the Panamic Alliance and put tremendous pressure on the Evolutionary Army, forcing them to keep some of their forces back home in case the alliance attacked.

Thus, all three Kandrian war fronts had completely stalled into a draining deadlock that showed very few signs of progress.

There were other clashes across the world with other forces, including the skinwalkers versus the sentinels, the seafolks versus the skyfolks, and other pan-racial nations situated on island nations, such as the Hlakaschken Trade Empire, that waged war against each other either for the Panamic Alliance or the anti-Panama Alliance.

It was an impressive war to a layman.

But NOVA knew far better.

[At this rate, we will lose. Symmetric warfare has failed to achieve the objective of this war.]

The objective of the war was to force the Panamic Alliance to return the sea monsters to the Great Nam Ocean to protect the continent, leaving the Great Void Ocean free once more.
