Chapter 3708: Tactical Adaptive Evolution

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

RUMBLE!!!!!

The surface of the ocean warped underneath the weight of the conflicts that had begun across several battlefields.

BOOOOOM!!!

"Rgh!"

"Watch out!"

"Be careful of these sentinel bastards!"

Martial Artists scrambled to evade the destructive power of the sentinels, uncertain of how to combat these powerful and superior versions of tekvores!

Their training only included battle tactics against tekvores, evolutionaries, and giants. They were not trained on how to defeat sentinels because the sentinels were supposed to be on their side.

That didn’t mean that they were entirely hopeless, of course. They managed to combine the lessons they had learned against tekvores and giants and cobbled up an on-the-run battle formation against each sentinel, composed of four Martial Artists on average.

Unlike tekvores with much more limited space, the sentinels had much greater room to embed more technology within their bodies. Unlike tekvores who pursued specialization of technological embedding, the sentinels did not mind being more uniform.

This was both good and bad. It meant that sentinels did not have the defined shortcomings and weaknesses that specialized pathwalkers, such as the tekvores, had. They were generalists who, within their bodies, had powerful technologies of many kinds, including lasers, plasma, electromagnetic shields, gauss rifles, and other integrations.

The Martial Artists noticed that this also meant that any one solution that seemed to work against one sentinel also proved to work against all other sentinels.

"We need to fight these bastards all together!" one Martial Senior widened her eyes in realization. "They’re all the same, just differing in size! We need to tactically adaptively evolve to suit our circumstances!"

This was the influence of the Water Sect.

Adaptive Evolution had grown more and more powerful and ever-present in Martial Art across the continent. After all, the process had begun even before the Siege of Sages into the Central Highlands of the Beast Domain. The Water Sect had continuously spread across the world in cooperation with Chairman Bradt Patrick, who had spread the Water Sect to nearly every corner of the Panama Continent.

Since then, thirteen years had passed.

While adaptive evolution had yet to achieve the kind of presence at the highest levels due to too little time, it had taken extremely deep root into the Lower Realms with Martial Apprentices, Squires, and Seniors having decently mastered the power of adaptive evolution to some extent.

Tactical adaptive evolution allowed the Martial Artists of the Panamic war fleets to deal with the sentinels better than they would have otherwise. Martial Artists were ordinarily prone to fighting one-on-one battles, but they recognized that they were at a strategic advantage in a group battle when it came to the sentinels.

Generally, because of their smaller size, they could pool their power against their targets much better than the sentinels could against them, which gave them a great advantage in battle, allowing them to mitigate their numbers’ shortcoming to an extent.

The same could be said for the many beasts they had to fight. The MECHA Martial Artists took on as many as they could, as they were more suited to fight them than normal Martial Artists. They helpfully made up for some of the gap that existed with their great power, even if their rank was low; the power of their MECHA allowed them to keep up with their enemies, even if barely.

However, while the grassroots were able to mitigate their shortcomings to a rather great extent, the same could not be said for the top-level powerhouses.

RUMBLE!!!!!

The world shook as the looming figure of Sentinel Prime emerged from the war fleets. His body mannerisms were strangely feminine for a body that was as masculine as his was.

His smile was eerie while his cybernetic eyes remained focused on the peak Martial Sages and the Transcendent Candidate who faced him. Blood Lord Vrukshus maintained an impassive expression as he faced the titanic pathwalker before him, spanning nearly a hundred meters in height.

"So this is who the Emperor of Harmony had sent to fight me." Sentinel Prime spoke with a feminine tone. "It is wise of him not to send the other two that I have already faced and developed predictive models on. Indeed, he is able to maximize your chances of victory to whatever extent possible. Of course..."

The sentinel’s smile grew colder.

"...Your chance of victory is zero."

RUMBLE!!!

Behind him, Transentia and Argenton emerged with cruel grins on their face. They had fought against the Panamanians for over a year, struggling to put pressure on them enough to bring back the sea monsters from the Great Void Ocean so that the negatron matter would become.

Now, after more than a year of war, they could finally get vengeance against the Panamians for the pain that they had gone through. Argenton and Transentia, previously dignified leaders of the Imperial Tekvorian Federation, were reduced to bloodthirsty pawns of NOVA.

And yet, they were perfectly satisfied with their current positions.

"Kill them all." Sentinel Prime commanded them.

"Yes, NOVA." Argenton’s silver eyes flared with bloodlust as he charged forth.

His eyes widened as a MECHA emerged from the depths of the Panamic warships at the very final moment.

A familiar MECHA.

The Lightfeeder.

It was the same MECHA that had defeated him in their very first confrontation. The Martial Master piloting the MECHA had hyper-specialized to be the antithesis of Argenton, allowing her to match the Transcendent Candidate-level tekvore despite the massive disparity in power.

"I won’t allow it to happen this time!" Argenton snarled. "Now that I know your tricks, I can defeat you without directly hitting you with light."

Of course, that was easier said than done. The simple fact of the matter was that the Light Feeder could feed on light from a distance, even if it wasn’t aimed at her.

Still, this time, Argenton was prepared.

RUMBLE!!!

A ferocious battle emerged between the two of them as the tekvore demonstrated the preparations he had made to counter the antithetical nature of Lightfeeder.
