Chapter 3717: Approaching Reckoning

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

"Everybody get into the shelter quickly."

"Quick, hide underground!"

"Make sure you remain silent when you’re there!"

Large numbers of people were desperately funneled into an underground shelter. Parents pulled their children through the underground with grim expressions, while babies cried.

"Arastia, go," Max instructed the young girl in front of him, kneeling before her. "You must get to safety now."

"Make sure you find yourself a good spot with others, alright?" Mana tried to sound as gentle and calm as she could, despite the circumstances. "We’ll be right back when all of this is over."

Yet, the young twelve-year-old girl wasn’t having it.

"I don’t want to go!" she snapped. "I can fight too, you’ve seen how strong I am! I can help you beat the bad guys!"

"Maybe one day," Max admitted. "But for today, just listen to us and evacuate. Since you’re so strong, use it to protect the other children of the orphanage, okay? They need you."

"We’ll be back soon," Mana promised, uncertain of whether she could even keep that promise. "Don’t worry, and make sure you hide with the others."

Arastia looked deeply dissatisfied, nodding reluctantly. "Make sure you come back immediately, ok? Beat those bad guys up!"

"We will." Max grinned. "I’ll punch some for you."

After finally bidding her goodbye, they watched her scurry into the shelter along with the others.

Their expressions grew grim by the moment.

"We need to go now."

The two of them shot off at top speeds as they zoomed towards the eastern coast of the Kandrian Empire with grave severity.

They had been apprised of the situation.

They knew that they were facing what was perhaps the most dangerous apocalypse to ever hit the Kandrian Empire. Not one, but two pathwalkers of the top ten were barreling towards the Kandrian Empire at an unstoppable pace.

"...Big brother." Max gritted his teeth.

"...We can’t always rely on him for everything." Mana’s eyes sharpened. "We will fight with everything we have and do whatever it takes to stop them. We have an army of beasts spanning half a continent at our disposal. They will have to get past all of them!"

The darkness of the night seemed to come alive, as if sensing their fear.

As if feeding on it.

Chills crawled across their skin.

Shivers ran up their spine.

Their nerves tingled with danger.

Peril.

Yet, they resolutely rushed to the front lines.

To the eastern coast.

When they arrived, they spotted a large line of Sage-level beasts and monsters.

They spotted many Martial Seniors and Martial Masters. The sheer surplus of those two Realms of Martial Art meant that the Kandrian Empire could afford to have many reserved at the Empire without any problems in the war, unlike with Martial Sages, none of whom were left in the Kandrian Empire.

A strange silence amid the shaking world hung in the air.

Not a single one of the Martial Artists stationed at the coast dared to open their mouth.

They simply stared at the dark oceans with a grim expression.

Dread could be seen deep within the depths of their eyes.

Even the beasts and monsters were strangely silent.

Only the world roared.

RUMBLE!!!

Tremors emerging from east of Kandria continued growing stronger and stronger as the most feared threat of all continued drawing closer and closer to the Kandrian Empire.

Yet, it was the giant who arrived first.

No.

It was none other than the prime of sentinels.

WHOOSH!!!

The giant cyborg-like creature emerged from the depths of the distant horizon from the north, drawing closer and closer. What was the distant light from its propulsion began to grow brighter and brighter as his massive body drew closer and closer.

Each and every single Martial Artist and beast froze in horror as they felt just the faintest hints of his power.

He was in a dimension by himself, along with nine others of the top ten.

Their power vastly exceeded that of almost anything that any of the Martial Artists and beasts had ever sensed. The sheer size of his body, along with the enormous scale of technology packed across every inch of it.

His skin was deeply mechanized with an intricate maze and grid of power lines running across the entirety of his body. His cybernetic eyes shone like two suns, remaining fixed on the Kandrian Empire from afar as he shot towards them at high speeds.

And yet, his ascent was not left unimpeded.

"Energy loaded!"

"Target locked!"

"Fire!"

BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!!!

A large onslaught of sieges emerged from the Kandrian Empire, converging on one and only one target.

WHOOSH...

The very fabric of space and time warped as Sentinel Prime erected a powerful space-time warp shield that curved the path of light, projectiles, and other forms of attacks away from his body, while evading as many attacks as he possibly could.

Yet, the action slowed down his pace of approach towards the Kandrian Empire. It slowed him down long enough for the other threat to become visible in the distance.

"Hey, look...!" one Martial Senior gasped as he spotted to a hazy, titanic silhouette in the distance.

One that was embedded deep in the skies.

"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!" One Martial Squire screeched with terror.

"THAT’S HIM! THE SUNEATER!"

"There’s... there’s no way we can possibly defeat that monster!"

"We’re dead! We’re all dead!"

"Screw this! I don’t want to die today! I’m going back to my home country!"

A wave of fear, dread, and panic washed over the gathered Martial Artists as the air grew electrically terrifying. Max and Mana gritted their teeth and clenched their fists to stop their quivering hands.

They couldn’t even bring themselves to shout words of encouragement.

It took them all the courage and concern for Arastia they had just to commit to an increasingly suicidal duty.

RUMBLE!!!!!

The world shook violently as the two threats drew closer and closer to the Kandrian Empire, threatening to destroy it even before they actually arrived.
