Chapter 3841: Arrived Moment

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

Inside was virtually every single important person on the continent; they stood up from their seats. They had chosen to stay behind because of the sheer importance of the throne war, and negotiations with Rui after it became clear he was the next emperor.

It was the most extravagant coronation of a ruler in the history of the Panama Continent.

"His Highness, Prince Rui Quarrier Silas Kandria and Her Sagehood, Consort Amare!" The Royal Announcer boomed with a loud voice.

Immediately, all the attendees stood up, as per protocol.

The international guests of honor were seated further behind, while domestic guests of honor, Martial and otherwise, were seated closer to the throne, and royalty even closer. Rui sensed many familiar presences among them, friends, family, and even guests of other races from other continents, but rejected the urge to glance at them, keeping his attention schooled forward.

The cabinet of ministers and other high-ranking government officials formed their own little group that stood before Rui and the throne, as if to symbolize their authority as kingmakers.

And before them was a group of officiants, comprising older men who wore cloaks of white, gold, and blue. Among them, several kneeled as they held important artifacts, such as the royal crown, the royal sword, and the royal scepter.

The crown represented royal authority, while the sword represented royal power, and the scepter represented royal duty. Rui arrived before them, along with Amare, still holding her hand, pausing three meters away from them as he was supposed to.

He gazed at the royal officiant before commencing the ritual as per protocol.

"I, Prince Rui Quarrier Silas Kandria, bid the powers of this land to crown me Emperor of the Kandrian Empire and swear their absolute loyalty to me. In the name of the Royal Kandrian Family, I offer to rule this land with the full weight of the responsibility and burdens..." Rui began a long and elaborate speech with a tone of profound significance and importance.

The ceremony mimicked by the speech that the first emperor had apparently made to the many small and fragmented powers that occupied the land of the Kandrian Empire before it even existed. According to history, the first Emperor had gathered the powers of the land, whether they were maritime, military, Martial, economic, and otherwise, and swore numerous promises and oaths to them to earn their loyalty and a royal mandate.

Prior to the Kandrian Empire’s existence, the lands were filled with feudal lords, merchants, and Martial Artists in an era of great volatility and instability, shortly after the first Martial Revolution had begun. On top of that, it was an era where external pressures on these divided peoples began mounting, forcing them to unite in some form or another.

It was Emperor Ra, and his army of ten Martial Squires, one hundred Martial apprentices, and ten thousand men who beckoned the loyalty of the powers of the Kandrian Empire and united them under his rule. That act of unification was what led to the birth of the Kandrian Empire.

Since then, the Royal Coronation Ceremony was modeled after the birth, where Rui beckoned the kingmakers to crown him Emperor and bend the knee to his rule.

The royal officiant turned towards the gathered government officials behind him once Rui had completed the mandatory speech as a part of the ceremony. "O kingmakers of Kandria, Prince Rui Quarrier Silas Kandria offers his bid for the throne. May you accept or reject His Highness."

"I, Danes Markell, Minister of Domestic Affairs, accept His Highness’ bid for the throne!" Minister Danes declared after stepping forward, before stepping back.

"I, Ru Grahal Kandria, Minister of Foreign Affairs, accept His Highness’ bid for the throne." Princess Ru declared with an elegant and graceful tone of voice.

"I, Ranea Von Kandria, Minister of Maritime Affairs, accept His Highness’ bid for the throne."

"I, Varken Selest, Minister of Finance, accept His Highness’ bid for the throne."

...

Rui simply listened as each of them naturally accepted his bid for the throne. Even if there were one or two of them who disapproved, they didn’t dare reject what was now inevitable. One by one, each of them accepted his bid for the throne until all of them were complete.

The Royal Officiants turned back to Rui with a solemn expression. "Kneel, Prince Rui Quarrier Silas Kandria, and swear your vows and oaths to this kingdom, to the powers that be, and the people you seek to rule over as the true Emperor."

Rui stepped forward, letting go of Amare’s hand as he knelt before the Royal Officiants on one knee.

"I, Rui Quarrier Silas Kandria, hereby swear loyalty to the Kandrian Empire. I swear fealty to our constitution and swear to uphold the law of this nation. I swear to..."

A large number of oaths were taken that day. He swore to rule the nation selflessly and wisely, to never abuse his power, to do right by his subjects, and several other vague platitudes.

Of course, he was sincere about them.

With each other, the burden on his shoulders only grew.

His power, which felt invincible, began feeling lacking in the face of the countless commitments he swore to. The inadequacy was a fueling hunger for more power to live up to his promises to the many people who supported him and now trusted him with their lives.

"...and I, hereby, swear to become Emperor!" He ended his ceremonial oaths with a powerful, determined tone of voice.

His ethereal voice radiated across the throne hall.

It bore down on the atmosphere as the moment arrived.

The royal officiants directed a solemn gaze at him. "Then, with the power vested in us as the officiants of your coronation, we hereby place the royal crown on your head to give you authority.

The magnificent, sparkling crown of gold and silver was slowly placed on his head.

It was heavy.

Heavier in ways beyond just its material weight.

"...and bestow you the royal sword to give you power."

He accepted the handed royal sword, attaching it to his belt.

"...and give you the royal scepter to burden you with duty."

He accepted the glistening scepter solemnly.

"And we hereby declare you Emperor of Kandria!" The Royal Officiant boomed with a powerful voice. "Rise, Emperor Rui Quarrier Silas Kandria!"

He rose with determination blazing in the depths of his eyes as the gathered guests broke into a thundering applause.

Kandria had gained its new Emperor.
