The world shook as clone Rui activated Gigabrain in all of its power while Rui grinned with excitement. He had been worried whether his clone would even be able to activate it at all, but thankfully, it appears that he could do it just fine. The atmosphere tingled with power and danger that radiated from clone Rui while the air grew electrically perilous.Rui sharpened his ethereal eyes as they bore deep into the blindingly bright red suns that shone within his clone's eyes. He found himself facing unfathomable power. The full weight of clone Rui's attention and focus converged upon the original as time slowed down in the clone's eyes. Countless thoughts flooded his mind at an astonishing pace as several facts settled down in his mind.
'I have only four advantages.'
The first advantage was that the original needed to maintain the Garden of Salvation domain, which took away from his power.
The second advantage was that it also consumed his exotic pluripotent matter, depriving him of that resource against clone Rui in order to keep the domain running.
The third was that the original was unwilling to kill him easily, for he intended to capture him to put him into stasis. The fourth was that the original couldn't use Gigabrain because he had infinite stamina, and he feared that nobody would be able to stop him from going berserk in his adaptive evolution trance.
These four advantages were the only advantages that the clone had over the original within this battle. They were the only advantages that the clone could use if he had any hope of winning against the much superior original.
The clone had experienced Rui's power and understood the titanic gap between them. Even without his Martial Soul, he was able to withstand the clone's full power pretty well with astonishingly powerful defensive techniques, and could even return that power extremely well. In order to have any hope of winning, the clone would need to go absolutely all out. Rui grinned at the clone with excitement as several moments passed in the battlefield.
However, what happened next caused him to widen his eyes with shock.
Clone Rui activated Neo Godspeed before activating Nemean Blossom, the Hypertrophic Surge, and Weaving Blood simultaneously. He activated the entirety of the Metabody System altogether.
RUMBLE!!!
The world shook as his skin darkened while his muscles grew larger and stronger despite the fact that his body lost weight in exchange for power. Activating the entirety of the Metabody System together gave him unparalleled power.
RUMBLE!!!
"You…!" Rui's expression hardened. "Have you lost your mind? Are you trying to die?"
Activating the Metabody System in its entirety all at once was a forbidden technique. It gave him great power, but in exchange, it strained his body beyond its limits, threatening to kill him in the worst-case scenario. And that was exactly what clone Rui intended to use to his advantage.
The original did not want the clone to die.
Which meant that he would necessarily have to deploy his power to knock the clone out before the time limit on the forbidden technique was up, forcing him to go on the offense.
And therein lay an opportunity for counter-attack.
Rui cursed as he activated his Martial Soul. In an instant, the dynamics of the battle shifted. He had expected to be able to simply lie in waiting, giving his opponent all the time to fight with Gigabrain as he innovated new, unfathomable techniques for Rui. Now, he had to go on the offensive and end this battle before it was too late, lest the clone die from his offensive technique. He could create new clones, of course. But now that he had created a clone who was truly himself, he didn't want to simply treat him like garbage and let him die then and there without a fight.
RUMBLE!!!
Rui mobilized his full power, balling his hands into fists as he teleported in front of the clone, all but prepared to blast him in the face with a powerful attack.
WHOOSH
Yet, the moment he teleported in front of clone Rui, he found himself face to face with clone Rui's fists.
Less than an inch away from his face.
WHOOSH!
His body coiled extraordinarily as Autocorpus came to the rescue, moving without Rui's brain-consciousness needing to intervene. Yet, the realization that he would have been struck without his body-consciousness's intervention made him take the battle more seriously.
He summersaulted, completing the evasive maneuver, before charging forth, unleashing a swift, straight strike to clone Rui's jaw, threatening to knock him out then and there.
WHOOSH
His eyes widened as his fist slipped off clone Rui's jaw in an inexplicable manner. The attack had been aimed properly, straight to his clone's jaw to knock him out then and there.
And yet, it somehow… slipped.
In a manner that defied his understanding.
WHOOSH!
The attack diverged as his momentum spiraled, causing his balance to destabilize. It created an opening.
One that clone Rui didn't intend to overlook, balling his hand into a fist before launching a clean, smooth blow to the side of his head.
WHOOSH
Rui effortlessly evaded the attack without so much as a thought, ducking before transitioning the motion into a sweeping leg kick that threatened to floor clone Rui.
And yet, once more, his attack… slipped.
WHOOSH
Rui's eyes widened as he struggled to understand what was happening.
He had watched his leg crash into his opponent's shin.
And yet, somehow, it went haywire, as if hitting an oily floor at an acute angle, causing it to smoothly slip off his opponent's body and go haywire once more that defied his understanding of physics itself.
His expression hardened as he unleashed an onslaught of attacks at clone Rui, a barrage of short and crisp attacks, each intended to cause minimal contact and inflict little damage.
WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!
His eyes widened as he felt each and every impact slipping off clone Rui as if his very existence was some kind of quantum oil. Each and every blow was negated with a slip that seemed to defy physics itself, no matter how much speed or power he put into the attack.
'What the hell is going on?' Rui's eyes sharpened as he focused on his opponent's movements. 'How is he negating my every attack?'
