Chapter 3968 Seeking Salvation

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

It was a wave of pure destruction, unlike anything Gaia had ever seen, threatening to destroy everything there was. It was an attack that was impossible to detect ahead of time due to the fact that the attack moved at the cosmic speed limit: the speed of light.

And yet, Rui foresaw it nonetheless. RUMBLE!!!

The blood-sun within the depths of his eyes flared with blinding brightness as he teleported through the very fabric of reality, no longer hampered by the alien virus's defensive measures. WHOOSH

In the blink of an eye, he teleported to outer space.

WHOOSH…

The silence bore down on him heavily as the bright light of the Sun illuminated and warmed his back. His eyes remained fixed on the giant ship in the distance. It was of alien origin.

The second confirmed alien life that he had ever seen in his entire life. The ship was of a profoundly unfathomable structure and was beyond his comprehension. Its appearance resembled that of a soap bubble, while its insides appeared to be solid rather than hollow.

It was based on engineering principles that were radically different from anything that could even be fathomed in Gaia. More importantly, he could feel a tremendous energy well shockwave coursing through the very fabric of space and time, threatening to utterly annihilate Gaia. His senses couldn't directly foresee it, but his prophecy warned him of the incoming destruction.

It showed him visions of a gravitational wave that was so intense that it essentially functioned as a gravity well shockwave, capable of utterly annihilating any form of matter that it touched.

RUMBLE!!!!!

The world shook as he activated his power to its very limits.

The blood-red suns within his eyes shone with blinding brightness and boundless determination.

"I will not allow Gaia to perish."

His tone boiled with a ferocious intensity.

"I will not allow any harm to befall my daughter."

RUMBLE!!!!!

Ordinarily, an attack that could destroy the entirety of Gaia was beyond him. It was a realm of power that he hadn't reached nominally. And yet, he wasn't in a normal state of mind.

He was in a trance, possessed by his Martial Path.

There was no limit, as far as he was concerned. On top of that, he knew he had time. The attack didn't move faster than the speed of light even as it coursed through the solar system, a tremendously vast patch of space.

He had time to prepare for the attack.

RUMBLE!!!!!!

The world shook as Rui activated his Realms of power to their very limit, relying on both his Eye of Prophecy and what he could of the information dimension to try and understand exactly what he was dealing with.

"A shockwave gravity well so intense that it essentially functions like a black hole in the shape of a shockwave."

Black holes were gravity wells that were so intense that not even light could escape them. Gravitational waves were essentially just like water waves, but through the very fabric of space and time, comprising compressions and rarefactions that were temporary gravity wells in the moment that the wave occupied at any given moment.

By making the compression aspect of the wave so intense that it could essentially have the same destructive power as the gravity well of a black hole, the attack could utterly annihilate even planets.

The question that Rui faced was how he was going to solve this problem. How could he possibly protect Gaia from a planetary annihilation gravitational wave?

Every other pathwalker under the sun would have found themselves facing a wall of absolute inevitability. Every other pathwalker in the world would have found themselves confronted with a challenge that was simply beyond even their wildest ability.

But not Rui.

RUMBLE!!!!!

The blood-red suns within the depths of his eyes flared with blinding brightness as Rui found himself confronted by the tremendous gap in power. Whichever entity was responsible for this attack was at a level of power that he could scarcely even fathom.

Most likely, this entity was so powerful that it was on par with Jormungandr in its capacity for destruction. Ordinary defensive means would not work for such a terrifying destruction power. He considered his most powerful defensive measures, whether it was Etherea Corpa or Aqua Existentia, or Outer Divergence.

The former could work, but applying it to the entirety of Gaia was impossible. The only reason he could apply to himself was that he had his body-consciousness. And even if Gaia were conscious and could thus apply the technique, it would still utterly annihilate all life within Gaia.

He ruled out Aqua Existential and Outer Divergence immediately as well. The former was also impossible to apply to their current circumstances, and probably wouldn't work against a gravitational wave.

The latter was just categorically irrelevant since the attack was not composed of any substance for there to be any quantum slippage.

"The biggest issue is the intensity of the compression factor of the gravitational wave. There is no ordinary defensive maneuver that could deal with that."

That was undoubtedly the most troubling part. He needed a gravitational solution to deal with a destructive gravity well. He could create black holes, but black holes wouldn't stop other gravitational wells; they would just end up making them stronger. Gravity didn't 'fight' gravity.

In order to fight gravity, he needed anti-gravity.

He needed negatron matter.

But not any ordinary amounts of negatron matter either. Not even the negatron matter that he was able to muster within his body would be enough. He needed much, much larger amounts of negatron matter to deal with an attack capable of destroying much of a solar system.

Thankfully, he knew exactly where there were large amounts of negatron matter in the first place.

He turned around, facing the planet of Gaia from outer space as his Martial Embodiment washed the planet protectively as the blood-red within his eyes glinted with knowledge. "I know you can hear me."

He spoke as his voice reverberated through the very fabric of space and time, much like the attack that threatened to destroy them.

"I need your help to overcome this tribulation."
