Chapter 4094 Strategizing Operation

While Rui secured the support of the immortal sages, the Gaian Alliance grew busy racking their brains about how they were going to capture Garg the gargantian. The reality was that none of them had ever engaged in a planet-capturing operation. It was the kind of mission that they didn't have standard operating protocols for, and thus needed to come up with brand-new modus operandi.

"The biggest challenge will be approaching it." In a conference room, many individuals garbed in military and formal attire sat around a giant conference table. Before them were a large number of documents and holograms containing the relevant information that would help them make a decision.

They watched live footage from Pioneer VIII on the gargantian, allowing them to watch the planet calmly hurtle through space as it revolved around the red dwarf star in its solar system.

Over the past week, they had been receiving continuous intelligence updates about the patterns of 'behavior' of the planet. Pioneer VIII had begun both passive and active means of collecting information. It didn't just have all of its sensors pointed at the planet to collect as much raw data as possible, but it also tested the reactions of the conscious planet. It sent bogeys in its direction of the planet to see how the planet, it tried 'attacking' the planet with lasers to see how it reacted. By recording its reactions, they slowly built a profile of the conscious planet that they had dubbed Garg.

The more information they had, the more the Gaian central command could come up with a proper, fleshed-out plan to achieve their goal of capturing a conscious planet.

"Garg has demonstrated a tendency to retaliate if it deems the threat is large enough," General Brigant, a general from the Panamic Alliance, remarked with a serious tone of voice. "The reality is that if we approach it with a large army, it will undoubtedly retaliate with one of its highly destructive lasers. If we get hit by that, we will be destroyed."

His judgment was correct, of course. The planet had a very strict set of standards regarding what was allowed to approach it. The reality was that the only reason Sage Ceeran's little spacecraft managed to approach the planet was that it was so small that it didn't even register as a threat to Garg. However, if they wanted to take with them the technology and the spaceships that they needed to capture the planet, they would undoubtedly trigger the planet's defense systems, triggering a powerful retaliation. "This is undoubtedly going to become the biggest hurdle," Lord Narsimha, who served as the military commander of the forces of Kiriket, remarked. After the death of the Dragon Emperor, he had accepted the inevitable and ultimately accepted Lord Vakratunda's claim over all therianthropekind.

The man certainly had a much more intimidating presence than most in the room, for his body was that of a humanoid lion, with the organic matter within his depths imploded to allow him to maintain a small size. His predatory eyes sharpened as he studied the live footage of Planet Garg. "However, even if we were to somehow get to the planet past its long-range laser siege, then we would still somehow need to actually incapacitate the planet."

Suddenly, the world changed.

The very laws of reality that held absolute now began to quiver like the image reflected from the surface of water. As if the very nature of reality was strangely liquid.

They sensed his arrival even before he arrived.

Rui teleported into the room, landing with a graceful step. His ethereal eyes shifted towards the gathered leaders in the central command committee tasked with coming up with the operation of capturing Garg.

"Sorry for being late," Rui remarked. "I was just visiting some old friends to secure their aid. What have I missed?"

"Not much, Your Majesty," Genera Brigant stood up, saluting Rui firmly. "We have just begun identifying the biggest hurdles that we will have to overcome in order to capture the conscious planet. Getting close will be challenging. And, the actual process of incapacitating will also be very difficult."

Rui fell into thought as he simply took a chair at the table, studying the intelligence with a glint of intrigue in his mind. "What is the assessment of the strategic analytics division on the prospects of a frontal assault?"

"They have judged that such an operation has a slim chance of success, Your Majesty," General Brigant offered Rui a document detailing the intelligence community assessment on the prospects of simply waging a symmetric war against the conscious planet. "The reality is that the energy output of the siege laser will melt away most of the defenses we can mount, and the larger our assault force, the less feasible it is for us to evade a light beam."

This was the fundamental dilemma that they were dealing with. The sheer amount of destructive power that the conscious planet had was far greater than anything any of their warships could hope to withstand. "The only ships that may have the ability to withstand the destructive beam, of course, are our dwarven hand-crafted ships," the proud, but burly voice of Commander Nornen of the Bournvyne Empire declared with a proud tone of voice.

The little dwarf sat on an elevated chair, folding his arms in a proud manner. Rui smiled at him. "Then, can we use your ships to mount the attack? If it is a dwarven handicraft, then I'm sure that it will be able to withstand the onslaught of Garg as we approach it with our military force. Even the laminar integuments have told me about how impressed they have been with your warships."

Those words made the dwarven commander that much prouder. "Well, we don't mind lending our ships to the war effort. But in exchange, Your Majesty…"

He directed a pointed gaze at Rui. "We would like a large share of the yields. Specifically, we would like half of all esoteric matter mined from the planet."
