The interweb had exploded with excitement as users began posting blurry videos that they had managed to capture through regular cellphones or, in the case of the amateur astronomy community, through sophisticated telescopes that could record the two mighty, gargantuan creatures going all out.
The reality was that both Jormungandr and Garg were so enormous that they could be seen in the sky with the naked eye in certain parts of the world, allowing people to directly see the battle unfold in real time.
[Dude, look at that planet! It let out a burst of light based on the data from the telescope, enough energy to power our world for a whole month!]
[No ordinary planet can possibly do that…]
[Is it like a war machine shaped like a planet? Why is it actively moving around like that?]

Even while the people of Gaia watched the conflict unfold with cautious excitement, the two creatures separated from each other for several moments in outer space.

Garg's molten body was wounded in spots on its molten surface where flesh lava emerged from, clearly indicating that Jormungandr had managed to inflict wounds upon the gargantian's body. On the other hand, Jormungandr's mouth was scorched with the attempts at impaling and poisoning its opponent. The serpent hadn't expected that the planet would have such powerful defenses against it in battle. The abilities, particularly gravity and laser beams, mean that the serpent couldn't pursue a standard battle strategy.
There was also the fact that Jormungandr itself didn't have much experience in battle recently, since it had been stuck in one place at the bottom of the ocean for over a century. This made the creature a little prone to inertia, making it unable to very easily choose a different strategy.
Garg was different. The planet clearly sensed that Jormungandr was capable of inflicting great harm upon it. The planet had already begun exorcising the venom that had been injected into it as a black goo was spewed out, flung into space. It changed tactics.
RUMBLE!!!!!
Rui's eyes widened as the planet created a powerful unidirectional gravity well, one that didn't act in the direction of Gaia. Perhaps it was because the planet knew that Rui would intervene to protect his home world from any bad influence. Rui could have stopped it, but he ultimately allowed the planet to go through with whatever it was trying to get to, out of curiosity.
Much to his surprise, however, Garg used the gravity well to pull in debris from the destroyed moon of the Panama Continent that had once served as an isolation meditation chamber for the Martial Primordial many years ago.
RUMBLE!!!!!
The debris flew towards the molten planet at a high speed, before revolving around the planet, slowly descending across its entire surface with tremendous shear forces grinding the moon rock across the surface of the molten planet.
RUMBLE!!!!!
Both Rui and Jormungandr watched with shock as the rapidly fashioned itself a new suit of armor.
But it wasn't just the moon.
The planet also began drawing other planets, moons, and asteroids towards it. Jormungandr's disposition grew more serious as the serpent immediately understood what the conscious planet was trying to do.
'It's trying to increase its body mass to get rid of the mass differential.' Not just that, but Rui also realized that the additional gravitational pressure would allow it to generate more energy through nuclear fusion. And the additional mass would allow it to generate more energy without having to worry about overheating.
At this rate, it would only grow stronger and stronger if allowed to complete its little maneuver. Because the conscious planet had consciously chosen to shed its crust, which had most of its esoteric material, it couldn't even deploy most of its nominal abilities until it restored its esoteric composition. Against a creature that was clad with esoteric matter, mostly increasing its durability, the planet needed more mass.
'I won't let you.' Jormungandr charged towards the serpent, this time keeping its mouth shut. It had already learned painfully that the gargantian's laser beam could burn even its tissue. It opted for a different strategy. WHOOSH
It rapidly began wrapping around the gargantian, coursing through the fabric of space as its massive body began wrapping around the creature at what was a very high speed.
And yet, even though the speed at which it wrapped its body was high on paper, relative to the size of the serpent's body, the speed was nothing. Both Jormungandr and Garg looked like they were moving in slow motion. Their collisions were also slow, even if tremendously destructive.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
The world shook as Jormungandr's body began wrapping around the gargantian even as debris began flying in the direction of the planet, converging upon its surface. Rui's eyes lit up with amazement as he witnessed a battle that was unlike anything he had ever seen before.
Jormungandr began to leverage the entirety of its body to slowly crush and choke the gargantian. As its body began slowly wrapping around the gargantian, it began squeezing as hard as it could.
The scales of the serpent blasted into the moon-rock-clad surface of the planet, exposing the magma underneath it as the scales crashed into the planet. The serpent understood that it could not allow Garg to grow any bigger, deciding to try and smother the gargantian before that happened.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
The rest of its body rapidly wrapped around the conscious planet, squeezing as hard as it possibly could. Garg clearly began panicking, unleashing a laser flare unlike any other it had ever launched before.
