Chapter 4481: Harnessing the Lightweavers

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

The elder sage dwarves of the storage wing stared with gaping mouths as Dwight upgraded the photonic phase induction catalyzer within a remarkably short amount of time. Upgrades that would have taken months had been completely on the fly with no preparation in advance.

If there were any doubts about a Transcendent Craftsman’s power before, then they were long dispelled. With a single breakthrough, Dwight had put himself leagues beyond his peers in the art of creation.

Dwight, on the other hand, was more focused on the machine itself, studying it with a satisfied expression on his face. He stroked his long, flowing white beard as he slowly lowered himself to the ground.

This was the first time he had seriously used his power upon breaking through, and he was extremely satisfied with his capabilities. Based on his estimation, the machine’s performance parameters had improved severalfold with this upgrade, radically increasing the odds that Operation Lightfury would succeed.

"With this, I have done my part for the operation."

He would leave the rest in the hands of those who were directly partaking in the attack.

Operation Lightfury received several layers of bolstering with the breakthrough of Dwight and the successful recruitment of Argenton. Although the tekvore was nowhere near as strong as the strongest pathwalkers in the world, he was one of the strongest light manipulators in all of human civilization, having fought Bodhisattva Maitreyi to a draw several times in the past.

Central Human Command had some misgivings about the expansion of the operation to so many more additional parties. After all, they had chosen to keep it small to reduce the footprint and lower the odds that the arakai discovered what they were doing.

But the benefits couldn’t be denied, either. Although Argenton was not regarded well in the interstellar community, with the assurances of the Emperor of Water, he would serve well on the field. After all, as reliable as the Boundless Light was, she was one point of failure. If she made a mistake, the entire operation would collapse.

With Argenton added to the team, they would be able to ensure that a mistake wouldn’t singlehandedly torpedo an entire operation. Rui, however, wasn’t satisfied with merely this. Argenton wasn’t the only person who could contribute to the operation, as far as he was concerned.

They could do much more if they were more open to other parties.

"I am honored by your invitation, Your Majesty." A golden man knelt before the elevated Royal Kandrian Throne. "As the President of the solarians, I would gladly accept your offer to bring the lightweavers of the Solaris Republic."

The Solarians had undergone many changes in the past thirteen years, the most prominent change being the collapse of the Martialacracy that had remained stable for centuries prior. The Solaris Kingdom became a republic. The second major change that had occurred was the complete transition of the Solaris people from Martial Artists to... something else entirely.

Lightweavers, they called themselves.

The process had begun with the unveiling of the True World and the existence of other races and paths. The fact that the Martial Path was not the only Path was something that had changed the cognition of the Solarian people. They realized that the Path that they followed may not have strictly been Martial in nature. They realized that they were as different from the Martialus species of the Panama Continent as any of the six races of human civilization.

The breaking point came with the mass dissemination of the hemosapien children. The Solarian people had taken them to most poorly, but their existence had shown that it was possible for something to be Martial-derived, but not strictly Martial in nature.

The change culminated in an open shift away from Martial Art in the Era of Expansion when the explosion of technology opened up new possibilities, allowing them to complete their metamorphosis.

As far as the President was concerned, they were merely being true to their nature that had been suppressed by a Martial culture for centuries. But the kneeling man still worried about the consequences of ’defecting’ away from the Martial Path. Among the many powerhouses in the Panama Continent, the Solarians had not been particularly successful or unsuccessful; they merely managed to maintain their political standing.

Being true to their nature, as they saw it, had made them stronger, but it had also required them to retread a lot of work. More than anything, however, it had caused them to grow more distant from the rest of Martial civilization within the Panama Continent.

President Coltis welcomed any opportunity to integrate himself back into human civilization, and playing a great role in this Operation Lightfury was the perfect opportunity to do that, as far as he was concerned.

"I’m pleased to hear that you’re on board, President Coltis."

The Emperor’s voice was calm to the ears, yet it carried an extraordinary amount of power to the senses of the President. He had received the standard information package on the details of Transcendence, which was why he understood where the Emperor’s power came from.

Yet, being in the man’s presence was a whole other thing, as far as he was concerned. Even though President Coltis was a peak Sage, he felt as insignificant in the presence of the Martial Transcendent. He had experienced the Transcendent’s power from afar, but it was a whole other matter to experience it up close.

"Central Human Command is of the opinion that you cannot be trusted due to your misgivings over the years," the Emperor of Water told the kneeling King. "If you want to prove them wrong, then you must ensure that your performance is flawless. I am trusting your mastery of light, as well as your discretion."

"I understand, Your Majesty. I will do everything in my power to live up to your expectations!" the man quickly promised. "We will show human civilization that just because we have divorced Martial Art, it does not mean that we are weak. We lightweavers are the true masters of light!"
