A surge of euphoria emerged in the aquadite Administrator’s mind as he felt his target submerged and pressured by his Oceanverse. Indeed, all those ominous feelings he had before were surely just the tingles that all warriors felt before a hunt. When he saw Rui suppressed by the currents of his Oceanverse, he grinned with glee, eager to crush his target and teach him a lesson he would never forget.
And yet, just before his attack could reach Rui, the same smile emerged on his face.
The same smile that rang alarms of danger in Ar’amado’s mind.
The same smile that caused a surge of terror to swallow his heart.
The Aquadite Administrator gritted his teeth. "How dare you!"
He charged forth, thrusting his trident at Rui with an astronomical amount of speed and power.
The trident itself was made out of Transcendent-grade esoteric compounds that tore through space and time itself. Amplified with the power of his Oceanverse, it should have skewered the puny human.
And yet, Rui’s ethereal eyes remained tranquil.
His hand reached out, almost as if he was beckoning.
The tip of his finger touched the incoming trident.
A meaningless gesture, the aquadite Administrator sneered inwardly.
And yet, it was enough.
WHOOSH
The Administrator’s eyes widened as the flow of power of his attack was smoothly redirected. Rui’s finger never left the edge of the trident. Instead, it gracefully swerved the edge of his trident away from Rui’s body in a parabolic curve.
The motion of Rui’s hand resembled that of an orchestra conductor’s, graceful and authoritative at the same time.
His ethereal eyes bore deep into the aquadite’s fish eyes as a single remark escaped him.
"Your mastery of this weapon is pitiful."
With those words, he balled his hands into fists.
"Circle of Infinity."
He applied his Martialverse to the edge of his fists, turning the point of contact into the curve of a perfect sphere, making the area of contact zero, generating infinite pressure over zero area. Then he used his Martialverse to exaggerate Pascal’s Law, scaling the area that the pressure was applied to.
It meant that for an infinitesimal moment, he could strike his opponent with infinite force.
Ar’amado’s expression grew horrified as he felt a catastrophic amount of danger from Rui’s balled fists. He tried to run away, yet Rui expertly closed the distance with hyper-efficient footwork.
The Circle of Infinity surged forth like a river, striking its target true.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
His fist penetrated his opponent’s body like it was a thin sheet of paper, emerging on the other side of the aquadite’s body.
"Argh!" The aquadite vomited blue blood as pure terror emerged in their depths.
Even though he had used his Oceanverse to maintain the integrity of his body, it didn’t matter even in the slightest. The Circle of Infinity not only used Rui’s Martialverse, but it used his Martialverse in an extremely efficient and effective manner.
To do more with less.
This was the lesson that Rui had learned in his first Transcendent battle.
The Circles of Infinity that he had created in battle with them applied this principle to the fullest, using his Martialverse to momentarily become limitless, even if infinitesimally.
The result?
A gaping hole in the body of his opponent.
"I mistimed it again," Rui muttered with dissatisfaction as he pulled his blue, bloody arm from the aquadite’s body.
Timing the Circle of Infinity perfectly was impossible.
Because the infinite force existed only for an infinitesimally small timeframe, it would mean that his accuracy and precision would need to be infinite, which was impossible even for him. It was impossible even for Amare, who was the most accurate and precise between the two of them.
However, even an imperfect Circle of Infinity was almost impossible to withstand. The aquadite Administrator gushed blue blood as his Oceanverse withdrew, converging upon his body to heal himself.
After all, his body was an ocean.
Oceans were self-healing, almost instantaneously so.
Even if you caused a massive dent to appear on the surface with a heavy impact, it would automatically heal itself.
It was precisely this principle that the desperate, critically-wounded aquadite Administrator tried to use to heal himself.
Unfortunately for him, Rui had no intention of letting him merrily heal himself.
He charged forth, focusing his Martialverse not on his own body this time, but rather on his opponent. Even though he had resolved not to treat his Martialverse like a domain, but rather a scalpel, scalpels could be used to hurt others nonetheless.
This time, he used his Martialverse to prevent his opponent from healing his wound.
Wounds were like water. They gushed blood that flowed like water. He simply amplified this trait metaphysically using his Martialverse, impeding the healing process. Of course, because his opponent’s Oceanverse was stronger than his Martialverse, the healing was merely slowed down, not halted entirely.
However, unlike his opponent, Rui had more than one Realm of power.
He charged forth, his other Realms of power blazing with life. He used his Gene Realm to maximize power, turning his mitochondria into matter-energy dynamos that generated even more materia prima than his Sage Realm would have been able to generate otherwise. He converted most of his slow-twitch muscle fibers into quick-twitch, choosing power over stamina for the time being.
At the same time, he used his primordial core to make the bones in his body stronger.
He didn’t replace them with invintium.
No.
He covered them with prothanite.
He had gathered a microscopic sample retrieved from the First Battle of Arima III for personal use. He grinned as he felt his bones become indestructible. The prothanite generated extreme electromagnetic fields, which he used as a source of power in addition to the materia prima.
Having amplified both his power and his durability, he unleashed an onslaught unlike anything the aquadite Administrator had ever experienced in his entire life.
BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
It was in that moment that Ar’amado experienced violence unlike anything he had ever experienced in his ten thousand years of life.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
