Chapter 877: Fanatical Reaction

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

The entire Coliseum, no, the entire planet, bore a singular trait: silence, unadulterated silence. Then came expressions of shock, awe, amazement, and utter speechlessness.

None of them had chanted as the battle went on, and none had chanted as the battle ended. No, could it even be called a battle? That had been a one-sided beatdown, if they were being generous with their words. It had been a massacre, a slaughter, if they were being honest.

Most had expected Asher to win, of course, but they hadn’t expected it to happen with this kind of ease. They had thought the two would at least exchange blows and injuries... but they had been terribly mistaken.

They stared at the littered corpses around the battlefield as their minds couldn’t help but replay the brutality Asher had inflicted upon Isaac’s clones. Decapitating someone with a mere horizontal sweep of one’s hand was something many of them had only ever seen in movies.

And not just that, the way Asher had torn someone’s head from their shoulders with the spinal cord still attached to the skiull spoke volumes about how familiar he was with such an insane method.

Their eyes remained fixed on him as he simply gazed at the students, the same word he had uttered earlier echoing through their ears.

Next.

They sized him up. Not a drop of blood stained his body, not even Isaac’s blood. Not a single speck of dust clung to him, nor was any part of his clothing rumpled, as though he hadn’t just emerged from an intense battle. His breathing remained perfectly even, his chest rising and falling with effortless calm.

They all couldn’t help but swallow hard. Out of the seven students, Asher had already faced three and defeated every single one of them, all without expending any significant amount of Astra energy.

But the very moment their minds finally processed the sheer impossibility of the monster standing before them, they all shot to their feet in a frenzy.

"ASHER!!!"

"ASHER!!!"

"THE DOMINATOR!!!"

"MADMAN!!!"

"KILLER OF GENIUSES!!!"

"THE DOMINATOR!!!"

"WARGRAVE!!!"

Saying the spectators across the planet had gone mad would have been an understatement. They were no different from fanatics as they screamed Asher’s name at the top of their lungs as though he were their god.

The Coliseum shook with overwhelming insanity to the point that cracks began spreading throughout its structure as it struggled to withstand the madness of the crowd. The Overlord, who had worn a frown throughout, immediately dispatched those with Earth-based abilities to reinforce the Coliseum, yet the two million spectators remained completely oblivious as they continued creating more and more cracks through their deafening cheers.

Back in the Zarethorne Empire, people roared at the top of their lungs. Posters were raised. Statues were erected in real time. Murals were painted across walls. Babies were being named Asher in real time. At this point, there was no denying it, the citizens of the Zarethorne Empire had become fanatics devoted to the name Asher Wargrave.

Those within the Wargrave Ducal Territory stormed the Wargrave Family Estate with absolutely no fear in their eyes. Knights had to be deployed by Yveric to keep the people back, although he and Cassandra merely stood atop a rooftop with smiles on their faces as they watched the reactions of the Wargrave Territory’s residents. They too had staked a fortune on Asher.

AlyxAtlas and Thomasinho wore wide grins upon their faces as they practically floated with excitement, dopamine, euphoria, and ecstasy coursing through their entire bodies. They lived for the thrill of battle, for the thrill of commentating upon it.

Thomasinho couldn’t restrain himself any longer. He raised his microphone as he spoke.

"PEOPLE OF CRYMORA!!!" His voice boomed through the speakers, shaking them beneath the weight of his excitement. "WE ASKED FOR IT, AND HE DELIVERED BACK-TO-BACK PERFECTION! SO I URGE YOU... SCREAM HIS NAME UNTIL YOU LOSE YOUR VOICE! NAME YOUR CHILDREN AFTER HIM! CHANGE YOUR FAMILY NAME TO HIS! PRAY TO HIS NAME! BOW TO HIS NAME! FOR HE IS THE DOMINATOR!!!!"

As Thomasinho shouted, the speakers throughout the stadium finally gave out, exploding outward as they could no longer endure the strain. Those in the mechanical department had already accounted for such a possibility and immediately sprang into action, installing new speakers throughout the entire Coliseum within a matter of minutes, allowing the commentary to continue without delay or interruption.

"ASHER!!!" "ASHER!!!" "ASHER!!!" "ASHER!!!"

The atmosphere itself was literally on the verge of collapse beneath their fanatical madness.

The students floating above didn’t react. After all, everyone besides Acker Holloway had expected this outcome. The pressure upon them to challenge, and defeat, Asher only continued to grow, weighing heavily upon their shoulders.

Finch sat with a weary expression. He knew there was no escaping it, they all had to face Asher eventually, and he knew there was absolutely no way Lior could survive against him. Finch even contemplated surrendering when it became his turn to challenge Asher. After all, he already knew the outcome, and there was no reason to endure the same pain the previous three students had suffered.

AlyxAtlas’ voice rang out this time, her eyes shifting towards the four remaining seated students as she spoke.

"TEO SWIG! FINCH WHALE! ARIANNA HAELLIGHT! ACKER HOLLOWAY! WHICH OF YOU DARES TO STEP FORWARD TO FACE THE DOMINATOR? WHICH OF YOU DARES TO PUT AN END TO HIS REIGN? WHICH OF YOU DARES TO STEP FORWARD AND BRING HIM DOWN? WHICH OF YOU!!!!!????"

Her voice exploded throughout the Coliseum, reverberating in everyone’s ears.

Arianna Haellight remained seated. She was determined to become Asher’s final opponent, not someone in between.

Acker, ever the delusional one, felt no pressure whatsoever. He simply mumbled, "Amitabha," beneath his breath as he prayed for Asher’s next opponent.

Teo Swig sighed, shaking his head before rising to his feet. He took a step forward and allowed himself to fall towards the battlefield. Just before he could crash into the ground, the wind element cushioned his descent, allowing him to land with effortless grace.

"And we have our challenger, people! Teo Swig, genius of the Zarethorne Empire!" Thomasinho declared.

"Zarethorne Empire versus Zarethorne Empire. Former teammates, now enemies. Will they tear each other apart?" AlyxAtlas asked, her eyes gleaming with excitement.

Asher stepped forward and created a new battlefield as he channeled his thoughts into the Worldshaper’s Relic. This time, he created a vast airport as the battlefield.

And with that, the crowd, still burning with the absolute cinema and dopamine of the previous battle, was about to witness yet another clash.

"Begin," AlyxAtlas’ voice rang out.
