Chapter 885: Blessing [Ko fi Bonus Chapter ]

Nothing remained within the battlefield anymore. AlyxAtlas had to intervene by channelling her thoughts into the Worldshaper’s Relic as she reconstructed the battlefield. Trees grew anew as the landscape reformed, hills and mountains rose once more, and this time, oceans were added as the battlefield’s range was expanded to twenty kilometres.

But the two responsible for this carnage stood in the sky as though nothing had happened, as though they possessed inexhaustible Astra energy reserves to continue fighting without end.

Asher’s Astra energy rumbled outward as it bled into the air with immense weight. He tapped into his Lightning Affinity, and an immediate response came. The blue sky darkened at once as purple lightning bolts began gathering and crashing into one another, eventually forming an enormous lightning beast that spanned dozens of metres in sheer size.

Asher didn’t hesitate. He sent the attack crashing down upon Acker’s head. Accompanied by a storm of pure rampage, the lightning beast tore downward with a deafening roar and maddening speed that shook the very sky as the entire battlefield became bathed in purple, as though Judgement Day had finally arrived.

Acker didn’t dare hesitate. He immediately manipulated his hundred golden Bodhisattva palms, stacking them above himself like an enormous shield as he moved to block at the very last moment. But the instant the lightning beast collided with the defence before it, Acker realized he had gravely underestimated both Asher’s astonishing mastery over his Lightning Affinity and the immense power behind the attack.

Within a split second, seventy golden Bodhisattva palms were torn to shreds. In the following instant, the remaining thirty were obliterated as well, with not even a full second having passed. And with that, the attack completely engulfed Acker in endless lightning fury as crackling thunder filled the entire battlefield, stray purple bolts of lightning raining violently into the forest below.

With a deafening boom, Acker slammed into the earth, the ground splitting apart as he continued sinking deeper and deeper, as though he were descending towards the planet’s core itself. Yet the lightning assault wasn’t over. It continued tearing Acker apart relentlessly. Flesh burned away, blood evaporated, bones charred, and even sound itself seemed to fracture beneath the sheer violence of the attack.

Any lesser man, aside from people like Isaac and Acker, would have long since fallen. But Acker endured. His regenerative ability burned through his Astra energy reserves to keep him alive in real time. Thus, Acker became trapped within a endless cycle of injury, agony, regeneration, and repetition. After several seconds that felt like an eternity, Asher’s lightning attack finally came to an end.

The twenty-kilometre battlefield that had only just been restored suffered another devastating blow as everything within a two-kilometre radius was subjected to yet another massacre. This section of the forest had now transformed into a sea of boiling, bubbling lava.

From the abyssal pit carved open by both the lightning beast’s impact and Acker’s descent, the Buddhist slowly emerged, panting heavily. Although his body had been endlessly torn apart and regenerated, miraculously, his clothes had survived the destructive force behind Asher’s attack.

Asher, who had now landed upon the ground, could tell that the Buddhist was nearing his limit. But Acker simply refused to admit defeat. Asher wasn’t in any hurry. He was convinced this Buddhist still possessed one final trump card he had yet to reveal, and he wanted to see it.

Acker’s expression gradually became resolute. His panting ceased as he slowly exhaled. His lips parted once more, his voice remaining as calm and tranquil as ever.

"Blessing of Buddha; Activate."

The instant those words echoed across the battlefield, an incandescent pillar of blinding golden light descended from the heavens themselves, as though Buddha had personally answered Acker’s call.

Acker’s entire frame began glowing gold as radiant energy manifested into golden scales across his body. His monk’s kasaya dissolved into motes of golden light as the scales spread upward, eventually stopping just beneath his jawline. A massive golden halo materialized behind his back, brimming with unfathomable power as though it served as the very source of the strength flowing into Acker.

The concept behind the Blessing of Buddha was simple.

How could one claim that the god, or higher entity, they worshipped with all their heart and soul truly loved them if that deity never bestowed a blessing upon them? Such gods, to Acker, were false gods.

And Acker Holloway genuinely believed that Buddha had blessed him with a trump card reserved solely for him. Through his Chuunibyou ability, that delusional belief became reality. And it manifested without any drawbacks, side effects, or limitations whatsoever.

Asher could feel it. Everything about Acker had increased. His strength, speed, durability, stamina, Astra energy, senses, everything had risen to a terrifying degree. Acker’s eyes remained unchanged, his head remained completely bald, and the two monk beads he always wore still rested around his neck.

The enhancement was absurd beyond all conceivable measure. At this moment, Acker stood as an entirely different man, no... an entirely different being.

The Ultimate State Isaac had entered earlier paled in comparison to this. After all, this was a power born directly from the world of Crymora itself, existing solely to fulfil Acker’s delusions and fantasies.

But one had to wonder... just how far could this delusion truly go?

Yet Acker didn’t seem to be finished with his transformation.

The very next moment, a Green Flag appeared within his hand. Astra energy surged into it, and the instant the Green Flag dissolved into motes of light, another surge of power erupted from his body, for the Green Flag possessed only a single function.

To multiply everything by a factor of two.

And with that, Acker’s strength climbed even higher. His already monstrous Astra energy reserves doubled once again, while his senses and every other attribute multiplied alongside them.

There had never been a rule stating that someone could possess only a single Flag. Acker had obtained two during the very first round and had simply chosen to use only one until this very moment.

At that instant, Acker officially closed the enormous gap separating himself from a Wavestar Life Ranker. He now possessed the genuine power of a Spark Wavestar Life Ranker.

He had stacked the Blessing of Buddha together with his Green Flag. Truly... a very intelligent man.

Unlike most warriors, Acker was a delusional man. Consequently, he had never bothered creating any Staff Techniques or anything of the sort. He had never needed to. If he sincerely believed he possessed one, then the world itself would simply create it for him.

His golden staff appeared within his grasp once more, the instant it did, Acker vanished. His speed eclipsed anything anyone at this stage of the Inter-Empire Competition had ever displayed. It was as though he had completely erased the very concepts of distance, space, and time themselves.

He thrust the end of his golden staff towards Asher’s chest with demonic force and unimaginable speed. Reacting instantly, Asher snapped into motion. Virelass tore upward as he intercepted the end of the staff with the razor-sharp edge of his rapier.

The impact immediately warped reality itself, everything within the entire twenty-kilometre battlefield was annihilated by that single clash alone. The green energy barrier protecting the live audience trembled violently beneath the destructive force, as though it would shatter apart. Yet it ultimately held firm.

Cindralis had no choice but to increase the battlefield’s radius to forty kilometres, but the scale of destruction only continued to rise as staff and rapier collided over and over again without pause, each impact threatening to erase the battlefield from existence once more.
