Asher appeared within the tunnel once again. The moment he appeared, he sighed before continuing to walk. The next moment, he met a staff member who told him to follow. Asher simply complied as he was led to a location where his phone and space ring were returned to him. With that, he continued following the familiar path until he stepped out of the Coliseum itself. There, he saw the rest of the students from the Zarethorne Empire’s Star Academy already standing and waiting, with their bus parked behind them as they had all been waiting for Asher to arrive.
As the tournament had already ended, they weren’t even allowed to stay with their parents immediately. Well, FatelessPen’s job was to get them back to the hotel first, then from there, the students could leave on their own and go meet their parents and whatnot. Of course, some people’s parents were already staying at the Gentle Hotel, like the Canestane, Whale, and Rivelle Families, while the entire Wargrave Family was staying at the Awakener Association’s skyscraper.
"It seems the man of the hour is finally here," FatelessPen said as his black eyes shifted toward Asher, who simply smiled and walked forward.
Asher simply smiled and approached. As he drew closer, William lightly punched him on the shoulder as he spoke.
"Damn, who knew you were that fucking strong? And here we were, walking around with you like normal people," his tone high-pitched as he still couldn’t believe the fact that Asher possessed enough power to raze hundreds of kilometers into nothingness.
Asher sighed. Even he hadn’t known he was that strong. Although he knew his stats always increased dramatically, he couldn’t quantify exactly how powerful he truly was unless he fought someone. Even right now, his Limitless Physical Growth ability had already activated, meaning he had grown stronger once again, but he still didn’t know by how much.
Could he now injure a Dust Voidstar Life Ranker without using Star Form or Star Stanza? That, he simply didn’t know.
But Asher said none of this.
"Sigh... at least Lior can rest much more easily knowing you went too easy on him," Finch mused, still glad that he had made the right decision not to participate in whatever Lior had been planning.
"Sigh... I just want to sleep. I’m exhausted," Asher replied as he climbed into the bus without another word.
Ryaen, who was standing at the side, clicked her tongue and spoke, "People would see this attitude of yours and think you’re lazy, but behind closed doors you’re the most hardworking person. Tsk. Tsk."
Asher, who had just entered the bus and was watching his friends board, replied, "Even in front of an open door, I’m still the most hardworking person," he mused.
Vaelric shook his head as he spoke, "Already growing arrogant now that you’ve been recognized by the whole world, huh?"
"It’s only natural," Asher smirked. "Maybe I should cut you all off. You’re all too weak to be my friends with the amount of power I now possess," his tone arrogant as he raised his head as though looking down on lower life forms. "Then I’ll become friends with people like Acker, Isaac, and Arianna," he joked.
William, who sat down behind Asher, was the first to speak. "In your dreams. I’m leeching off you for everything you’re worth. After all, I’ve been here since before you even became popular," his tone playful.
Asher laughed and shook his head as he didn’t have any playful comeback for William. He sighed. He simply wanted to get back and sleep. As for bathing, that could wait until after he woke up.
The bus moved swiftly as they headed toward the Gentle Hotel, but they couldn’t make proper progress as the streets were crowded with people screaming Asher’s name at the top of their lungs. They banged against the bus, forcing its speed to decrease to prevent any accidents.
Asher waved at the people near the window beside where he was seated, and they completely lost their minds. Security had to be deployed to hold the frenzied crowd back.
"Well, it seems we won’t be arriving at the hotel anytime soon," Ryaen spoke with a sigh as she shook her head.
Nobody complained. They simply remained seated and waited for the situation to be handled. Those who had bought phones took them out and began using them to pass the time, but Asher’s own phone was blowing up with thousands of messages every second. Strangely enough, people were even sending him nudes, as though trying to get his attention through their bodies and seductive poses.
Soon, the road was cleared as security carried out their duties with maximum efficiency. Within a few minutes, Asher and the rest of the students arrived at the Gentle Hotel, and needless to say, people had gathered there as well. Fortunately, they were at least given a clear path to the entrance, as the Gentle Hotel Manager had already made preparations ahead of time.
"Well... it must be nice being popular," Finch spoke the moment he stepped into the hotel lobby with a sigh.
Asher simply smiled and didn’t reply. But before he could even move, the hotel staff came forward with huge gift boxes to congratulate Asher on his victory, while the other students were also given smaller boxes. After all, Asher’s victory automatically meant the Star Academy’s and the Zarethorne Empire’s victory.
Asher expressed his thanks as the gifts floated before him, carrying them with Astra Energy Telekinesis. With that, he stepped into the elevator and headed straight to the top floor alongside the other students staying there as they exchanged small talk.
"I guess this is goodbye for now. I’ll be sleeping for twenty-four hours," Asher spoke to his friends as he yawned and approached his door.
The group of friends said their goodbyes to one another.
Stepping inside his room, Asher paused as he saw a figure already standing inside, staring down at the fans below through the enormous window that blessed Asher with a perfect view of the outside world.
The figure turned toward the door. He possessed black hair and black eyes, with a sabre hanging at his waist.
It was the Ninth Sun, Thalric Wargrave.
One could only wonder what he was doing here.
