Chapter 944: G.O.A.T

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

"Thank you, FatelessPen," Asher said as he gave a slight bow, genuinely appreciating the fact that FatelessPen had helped him without asking for anything in return.

FatelessPen stayed silent for a moment, a genuine smile appearing on his face. He didn’t have many friends, which was why he spent most of his time traveling across all four Empires after he became a Crownstar Life Ranker.

And just because Asher was decades younger than him didn’t make things awkward between them, so they were always able to speak and converse with each other without putting on any airs. Their conversations always flowed naturally, carrying an ease that was rare to find between people separated by such a vast difference in age and status.

The next moment, FatelessPen smirked as he spoke with a snort, "Why are you thanking me? Who said I was doing this for free? Obviously, I have my own motives," his tone mock serious.

Asher arched an eyebrow as he rose from his bow. He stared at FatelessPen for a moment before a smile appeared on his lips. If it had been before he ate the Fruit Of Dawn, he would have believed FatelessPen’s words, as FatelessPen’s acting had been flawless. But with Emotion Perception, he could clearly sense the gratification coming from FatelessPen. He simply feigned ignorance as though he hadn’t noticed and asked,

"What do you want in return?" His tone was low and calm.

FatelessPen fell into thought. He had never planned on asking Asher for anything in return, but since he had already claimed he had his own motives, he had to come up with something. After thinking for a moment, an idea suddenly struck him, and he couldn’t help but smile as he spoke.

"As you probably know, I’m your brother’s number one fanboy," he began. "But the abilities of his Solaris, his soul-bound katana, are something nobody knows. Surely the members of the Wargrave family know. I will settle for even one of Solaris’ abilities," he stated.

Indeed, aside from Azaron, nobody on the entire planet of Crymora knew the abilities of Malrik’s soul-bound katana. Not even the Great Elders or the Elders knew, as Malrik had never told anyone. But unknown to FatelessPen, just as he and everyone else remained in the dark, the Wargraves themselves were equally in the dark.

Asher was silent for a moment. What could he possibly say? He obviously didn’t know, but at the same time, he couldn’t lie to FatelessPen. Some Crownstar Life Rankers possessed senses so sharp that they could perceive lies through nothing but pure intuition. Besides, Asher wasn’t someone who repaid kindness with deception.

"Ehhh... I don’t really know, as I never bothered to ask, nor was I ever told," he replied, his tone low and honest.

FatelessPen remained silent for a moment before sighing as he shook his head in slight disappointment. But at the same time, that only strengthened his belief that the G.O.A.T’s soul-bound katana ability was truly extraordinary, perhaps even so overpowered that it had been deliberately hidden from everyone, including members of the Wargrave family.

"It’s fine. I’ll just settle for something else," FatelessPen said as he waved his hand, and a book similar to the one he had given Malrik to sign appeared before him.

"With your ridiculous talent and speed of cultivation, you’re bound to become popular. Your signature will be priceless in the near future, so I’ll settle for that," he stated flatly, as there was nothing else he truly wanted.

Asher stared at the book floating before him for a moment as he thought of various titles and names to engrave into it. The Dominator? The Eclipser? The Most Talented Being To Grace The Planet?

After a moment of deliberation, a name that a certain someone had once called him echoed in his mind. With that, his index finger moved as Lightning flowed through it, and he signed the book with flawless handwriting.

The Cleaver Of Sin.

Asher didn’t know why he had chosen the name, but he had simply picked it on the spot for no particular reason. Even so, as he looked at those three words, they somehow felt strangely fitting.

FatelessPen stared at the name for a moment before speaking. "The Cleaver Of Sin, huh? I guess the Buddhist is getting to you," he mused.

A box appeared as he sealed it just as he had sealed Malrik’s, and then it vanished into his space ring. FatelessPen felt deeply satisfied. How many people could boast that they possessed the signatures of both the First Sun and the Tenth Sun, the two most talented Wargraves in history?

While many people might have thought of selling them in the future, FatelessPen had no such intentions. To him, they were priceless collectibles that held sentimental value far beyond anything wealth could ever purchase.

Seeing that FatelessPen was in a good mood, Asher decided to ask for something else, although it was something relatively easy for FatelessPen.

"I also need something else," he stated, his tone calm.

FatelessPen paused for a moment as he stared at Asher in wonder, briefly wondering if it was something that would drain his Astra energy dry again before he replied,

"I’m listening," his tone almost unbothered.

Asher didn’t hesitate to speak. "As you know, we’re heading back to the Zarethorne Empire soon, and I’m sure there are zero internet connections or communication services for any phone or gadget to function over there. So, I need a phone that can still work in the Zarethorne Empire regardless of that," he explained.

FatelessPen stayed silent for a moment before simply nodding, as he had created something similar for himself in the past. His soul-bound pen appeared in his hand once again as he casually drew various objects into existence: a unique phone exactly as Asher had described, a special Wi-Fi router, a gaming console, a television for the gaming console, gaming controllers, and a whole assortment of other devices.

Asher stood there in silence before shaking his head. He had only asked for a phone, yet FatelessPen had taken things to an entirely different level. There was nothing else he could do to thank the man. It wasn’t as though he could force Malrik to reveal information about Solaris just so he could pass it on to FatelessPen.

"Thanks again," he said as he inspected everything one after another, momentarily appearing to forget about his training, though he hadn’t.

These were pieces of technology that would accompany him to the Zarethorne Empire. Naturally, they took precedence for the moment. One after another, they vanished into his system inventory after he finished inspecting them, his satisfaction reaching its peak as he imagined having access to modern conveniences even after returning to an empire completely devoid of such technology.

"If you want to thank me, find out the information I need," FatelessPen replied with a shake of his head.

Asher smiled and said nothing else. He gazed up at the timer in the sky that FatelessPen had drawn. It displayed thirteen days, twenty-three hours, and forty minutes as the seconds steadily counted down.

"I’ll be beginning my training. See you in two weeks," Asher said to FatelessPen, his eyes moving toward an open field as he chose it as the place to train his swordsmanship.

Without waiting for FatelessPen to respond, Asher turned and walked away, heading toward the open field to begin his training, fully intending not to stop until he achieved a breakthrough in his swordsmanship.
