Chapter 956: My Man!!!

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

"Speaking of which," Finch’s eyes lit up as he spoke, "you haven’t told us what you gained from the Fruit of Dawn." The thought had come to him after Vaelric mentioned that Asher had gone into training to sort through his gains.

At Finch’s words, everyone’s eyes immediately lit up as they realized they had momentarily forgotten. After all, that had been one of the main reasons they came; they were simply too curious. While the rest of the world might not be privy to such information, as Asher’s friends, they were certain they could at least learn one or two things from him.

But of course, if Asher didn’t want to say anything, it wasn’t as though they could force him into revealing anything. After all, people rarely liked exposing all the cards in their hand unless it was already public knowledge or something others could easily figure out.

"It’s definitely your Physique that evolved, right?" William asked. Just like everyone else, he too had assumed that the Wargrave Physique had undergone an evolution.

"It has to be. We all literally watched him get reduced to little more than a pile of flesh before being rebuilt in real time," Ryaen added as her black eyes remained fixed on Asher.

"Sigh... What’s the use of guessing all over again?" Vaelric interjected. "The man is literally sitting right here. Let him give us an answer if he can," he stated.

Asher remained silent as he looked at his friends, who stared right back at him with curiosity written all over their faces and expressions. He had already known they would ask him the moment they saw him, and he hadn’t planned on hiding everything... or rather, most things.

As for why Asher wasn’t simply going to refuse and say that he didn’t want to tell them, the answer was simple. He had known these people for eleven months, and during that time, they had already become aware of Virelass’ regeneration and teleportation abilities. It had simply been impossible to hide them when they had seen him teleport into his room or noticed his clothes stained with his own blood and torn apart, yet his body bore no injuries after missions back when they were still a team.

Besides, it wasn’t as though knowing about Virelass’ weapon abilities would allow an enemy to stop or block them. That was simply impossible. Anyone foolish enough to attempt sealing space because they knew about Virelass’ teleportation ability would merely be wasting their own time.

As for the healing ability, Virelass was a soul-bound weapon, so by extension, the System’s protection also extended to her since she was directly linked to his soul.

But of course, that didn’t mean Asher was suddenly going to become a blabbermouth.

With a single thought from Asher, Star Energy pulsed through his body as he used it to create a sound barrier, sealing off the room just in case someone happened to be listening.

He let out a sigh before beginning, "My Physique wasn’t what improved."

His words left everyone stunned for a moment. They couldn’t understand how his Physique had failed to evolve after everything they had witnessed. But Asher had no intention of explaining that, as he was simply too lazy to do so.

Virelass immediately appeared beside Asher, floating gracefully with a low, excited hum as he continued speaking.

"Virelass was the one who evolved and received all the benefits," he stated.

With that, he went on to explain that Virelass hadn’t gained or unlocked entirely new abilities; instead, her existing abilities had simply become significantly stronger. He also explained a few of the newer skills Virelass had awakened. He told them about possessing his own teleportation mark, though he deliberately left out the weakness that originally accompanied it.

Asher also refrained from mentioning his soul abilities. Neither did he mention that the blood Virelass consumed could advance into a higher rank, nor did he reveal anything about his ability to unleash one hundred percent of his damage in a singular output through Virelass Astra reserves.

"Well... these are the ones I can tell you for now," he said. "You can find out the rest on your own if we’re ever on the same battlefield," he added with a faint smile.

With that, Finch, William, Ryaen, and Vaelric began discussing Virelass among themselves. None of them were bothered that Asher hadn’t told them everything. Why would they be? It wasn’t as though they themselves told Asher every single secret they possessed. As the topic of discussion revolved entirely around Virelass, she happily floated around the group, humming cheerfully as she listened to their conversation.

"So, since we’re literally leaving in two days, why don’t we use today and tomorrow to explore the Thalvorn Empire even more? I’m sure there are still plenty of places we haven’t visited," Finch suggested once his curiosity regarding Asher’s new abilities had finally been satisfied.

William nodded in agreement as he said, "Indeed, we should do something fun. We’ve only been shopping here and there. Although Asher taught us how to drive, we should learn something else too," he said, his tone almost expectant.

Vaelric and Ryaen both fell into thought. They only had today and tomorrow before leaving the Thalvorn Empire, so they might as well make the most of the little time they had remaining.

"I’m afraid I won’t be joining you all," Asher spoke as he shook his head.

Finch stared at Asher for a moment before asking suspiciously, "Planning to train again?"

Asher let out a small chuckle before replying, "I’m not a robot or anything like that. I simply have a prior engagement with someone else. That’s all," he answered calmly.

Ryaen and Vaelric couldn’t help but suspect that the prior engagement Asher mentioned was probably with the First Sun, Malrik. Unlike the two of them, however, Finch simply asked without giving it much thought.

"One of your siblings? Or someone else?" he asked.

Asher remained silent for a brief moment before speaking with a sigh, "It’s Arianna Haellight."

The moment those words left his mouth, silence swept through the entire room as everyone sat frozen in disbelief. But that silence lasted only a heartbeat before it exploded apart.

"My man!!!" Finch, William, and Vaelric shouted at the top of their lungs with wide grins plastered across their faces.

Asher’s lips twitched as he had already expected this exact reaction. He knew this was precisely how these three idiots would respond. Men were always like this.

"Don’t overthink it. We’re just becoming friends, and we’re simply hanging out like any other group of friends would," Asher said, trying to calm their enthusiasm, excited expressions, and booming voices.

"Sure, buddy," Vaelric replied.

"Keep telling yourself that, buddy," William added.

Asher simply sighed in defeat. There was no explaining things to these three idiots who visited brothels every chance they got. They simply couldn’t understand that he was merely hanging out with Arianna without any lustful intentions or hidden motives whatsoever.

"At least with this new development, we can finally put those gay accusations to rest. HAHAHAHA!" Finch exclaimed as he burst into laughter.

At those words, Asher, Vaelric and Ryaen froze in stunned silence, unable to believe what they had just heard.

Asher immediately frowned as he glared at Finch before speaking, "What the fuck do you mean by gay accusations?"

Anger was already beginning to rise within his chest as he prepared to beat the living shit out of the fatty if he didn’t immediately explain himself.
