Chapter 1040: Missing The Point [Magic Castle Bonus Chapter]

Asher sighed internally when he heard Azaron’s questions, his eyes shifting from his plate as he saw everyone’s gaze locked upon him like he was some rare treasure or something of the sort.

Asher’s eyes finally shifted towards Azaron, who was resting his head on his palm as his elbow was propped on the table.

"Sigh... what do you people want to know exactly?" he asked with a sigh as he set down his cutlery.

Before anyone could even reply, Mary spoke first, "Everything there is to know."

Asher’s eyes shifted towards her as he saw the intense eagerness in her eyes as she waited to hear an answer, but he didn’t speak. He simply shifted his attention towards Azaron. Asher had decided not to hide anything; there wasn’t some great secret or anything of the sort. Well... he wouldn’t talk about his system and transmigration, but regarding any other thing, he would be transparent about it.

"Just start from the beginning, from the Awakening," Azaron spoke as he didn’t break eye contact, "but if you feel like there is something you have to hide, you are welcome to refuse to answer. After all, it’s not like I’m going to force you to give up any information," he added as he removed his hand from the table and leaned back into his seat.

Asher nodded his head, then began to speak.

"Unlike what most of you think or believe, after my Awakening, I indeed awakened only the Lightning element," he said in a calm tone. "So, at the time, the other elements like Light, Space, Gravity, and Fire were unavailable. If I had them, I would have used them during the True Awakening. I had no reason to hide them as of then," he explained.

Ezekiel’s eyes shifted towards Apollo as though telling his elder brother, ’I told you so,’ as they had once gone back and forth about the timeline concerning Asher’s multiple elements.

Apollo, receiving Ezekiel’s gaze, simply ignored him as he gave Asher his full attention. Although he was always lazy and indifferent to most things, he was certainly not indifferent to this.

Asher’s eyes turned to Azaron as he asked, "Did you receive any information about me leaving the Castle to head to an Orchid Auction House?"

Azaron nodded, "Yes, Zarek informed me. There is no way you would leave the estate without me knowing, and if I’m correct, that was a month before you joined the Star Academy, right?" he asked.

"Precisely," Asher replied. "A month before the Star Academy entrance exam, I decided to head to an auction house because I was bored. Of course, I bought nothing since we basically had everything there was to have," he explained calmly. "And as everyone knows, the last item of an auction is meant to be the best item on the auction list, right?" he asked.

Everyone nodded, as it was basic and general information that everyone knew.

Seeing everyone nod, Asher continued, "But the last item for auction was a mere pebble from the Cursed or Blessed Lands. You all already know what this means."

Nobody spoke, but their silence was an agreement, as they all knew that auction houses and merchants often tried to scam people with fake things they claimed were brought from the Cursed Lands.

"Long story short, nobody at the auction wanted to buy the pebble, and since we were allowed to state the starting price, and I was also curious about the Cursed Lands as I’d never seen anything from that place, I simply bought the pebble for one copper coin," Asher explained.

But as he was about to speak again, Olivia spoke, "Can you jump these parts and just get straight to it?"

At her words, ten pairs of eyes turned towards her as though telling her to shut up and listen or get out. Olivia’s lips could only twitch as she decided to just keep quiet and not say anything else.

Asher simply shook his head at Olivia’s shenanigans and continued, "Anyway, when I returned to my room with the pebble after the auction, I tossed it around for a few moments, then infused my Astra energy into it as I simply played with it. That was when it happened," he stated.

As Asher said those last words, everyone’s ears seemed to grow bigger as they listened even more intently, despite them being capable of hearing Asher even if he whispered.

Asher couldn’t afford to tell them that it was the system that had told him to buy the pebble, so him saying he bought it out of curiosity was the next best answer he could give them.

"The pebble itself seemed to shatter, revealing some sort of golden orb," he continued speaking, "and before I could react at the time, it shot into my chest and fused with me." He sighed, then shook his head as he remembered the pain he had passed through at the time. "Intense pain followed. It was literally too much to the point that I fell unconscious." He paused for a moment, then added in finality, "And when I woke up, I got the Light, Space, and Gravity affinities, together with the white energy, all at once."

With the explanation done, Asher picked up a glass of wine and simply drank it as though explaining all this had made him too thirsty.

Everyone sat in pure, unadulterated silence. None of them could believe what they had just heard. It was too good to be true, fucking too good. Their brother got bored, then went to an auction, bought a pebble out of curiosity, and instantly won three affinities, all that for a single copper coin.

Which one of them here didn’t have a copper coin? They would even happily exchange an organ for one element.

"Should I start visiting auction houses and start buying all those fake items that these auction houses sell?" Apollo couldn’t help but consider it.

Wuthenya, who had been silent, shook her head as she spoke, "Even that fat friend of yours doesn’t possess this amount of luck."

They had all expected some grand explanation, some magnificent tale, or at least something extraordinary, but hearing that it was something so simple made it even more preposterous to them.

"You all are missing the point here," Azaron spoke after a moment of silence.

His words made everyone pause for a moment. They turned towards him as though asking him what the point they had missed was. But before Azaron could speak, Malrik was the one who explained.

"Millions, if not billions, of people have visited the Blessed Lands from the past to the present," Malrik began to speak, "and if there is anything everyone has in common, it is the fact that nothing, be it good or bad, has ever been found at the Cursed Lands. Even the Fruit Of Dawn was only found a couple of kilometers away from the Blessed Lands." He paused for a moment, his blue eyes shifting towards Asher as he added, "Yet, the youngest had found some sort of golden orb through sheer luck."

At Malrik’s words, all the Suns and Moons froze in their seats. They had forgotten to consider this aspect as they were all dazed and stunned by the fact that Asher had gotten three elements for a single copper coin.
