Time flew by as an hour passed after Asher was done eating as he waited for his friends to arrive. Although he had no planned activity or anything of the sort, he wasn’t bothered; there wasn’t exactly anything to plan. The door opened as Lyra stepped in and spoke, "Young Master, your friends are here."
Asher, who had been lying on the bed as he scrolled through social media, nodded as he rose from his bed, his phone vanishing into his space ring as he walked out of his room and headed towards the gate.
Asher couldn’t help but smile. Ryaen, William, Vaelric, and Finch had just returned a day ago, yet they were already here. Asher didn’t need to guess to know that his friends must have used tamed flying Monsters or Beasts to get here as quickly as possible, as if they had used Enduron horses, it would take days no matter how fast those Enduron horses were.
Upon stepping outside, he saw a huge bird Monster that resembled a griffon and was at the Grave Class shooting downwards from the sky as it folded its wings. Normally, if this was an random Monster, it would have been shot down the moment it reached the Wargrave Territory’s airspace.
As the bird reached the ground, it expanded its enormous wings and slowed its descent with perfect timing, landing flawlessly as a wave of wind blasted outwards. On top of the bird were Finch and the man who appeared to be the Commander of the Whale Knights. He was at the Pulse Firmstar Life Rank, as he had been dispatched to protect Finch on the journey.
Before Asher could even speak, from the clouds, three more flying Monsters shot downwards, Ryaen arriving with five Knights, one at the Crownstar Life Rank and the rest at the Soulstar Life Rank, showing just how important she was to her family.
William had one bodyguard like Finch, and as for Prince Vaelric, the moment his own flying Beast landed, there was no bodyguard or Knight beside him. Instead, beside him stood a man who possessed pure white hair, dressed in a white robe, and gave off an air of aloofness and authority at the same time.
He was Cyrvexis Lux Vanthelmor.
Asher didn’t know the man personally, but he had seen him in the history book he had read two years ago when he had first transmigrated. He didn’t speak to his friends; he simply greeted him.
"I greet His Majesty," he stated as he bowed.
Cyrvexis smiled as he walked forward calmly. "No need for such formalities, you are a friend of my grandson," he said as he patted Asher on the shoulder.
As Asher was about to speak, he sensed Azaron’s presence as the man stepped out of the building. Azaron silently stood for a moment, staring at Cyrvexis before he asked.
"And to what do I owe the honor of His Majesty’s presence?" His tone was flat, his expression unchanged.
Although Azaron had an issue with Zolthemir, and Cyrvexis had interfered, Azaron wasn’t angry or anything of the sort. He understood that Cyrvexis was just a Father protecting his son, just as he, Azaron, had been protecting his own sons.
Besides, he was familiar with the man, as he had seen him a lot when he was little.
"Is that a way to greet your Uncle?" Cyrvexis asked as he walked towards Azaron with a smile.
When Azaron was little, he had indeed referred to the former Emperor as Uncle since the man and his Father were close, but that was over a century ago. Azaron simply shook his head and said nothing, guiding Cyrvexis into the building. Although he didn’t know what the man was here for, he couldn’t care less at the moment, as he needed to send the man home as soon as possible and then have a bit of fun at the borders.
Seeing Azaron and the former Emperor leave, Asher turned towards Vaelric as he spoke, "I didn’t know you were coming with your grandfather."
Vaelric shook his head helplessly as he responded, "I didn’t know either. When I received the letter and was about to leave, he simply tagged along for security purposes," he sighed.
Asher nodded his head and said nothing else. The former Emperor’s presence had nothing to do with him.
"Let’s go inside," he stated and turned around, the group following him.
The moment they entered the building, the people guarding Ryaen, William, and Finch flew away, heading back to their various Territories as their work here was done.
Ryaen and Vaelric looked around. It was their first time here. Although they had both grown up in wealth and had seen luxury before, being inside the Wargrave Castle felt different to them.
"It seems the two of you have been here before," Ryaen spoke as she noticed that Finch and William weren’t looking around like she and Vaelric were.
William nodded as he spoke, "We have. We came here after our first group mission since we still had some time left on the mission."
Ryaen nodded her head and said nothing.
Asher, who had been silent, spoke again, "I hope you guys brought everything because we will be leaving for the Star Academy in three days, or are you guys going to head back to your Territories and leave from there?" he asked.
Finch, who was walking beside William, replied as he waved his hand and a luggage appeared, "We came with everything possible." He patted the luggage. "If our parents weren’t at the Thalvorn Empire, we wouldn’t have been able to come and would have spent the three days with them before our return," he explained.
"But since we’ve basically seen them at the Thalvorn Empire, we don’t necessarily have to spend the remaining three days with them," William followed up as he stated.
Asher nodded, then suddenly remembered something and came to a stop as he spoke, "I forgot to introduce her earlier, but this is my personal maid, Lyra. She has been taking care of me since I was little," he gestured towards Lyra as he turned and introduced her.
William and everyone turned towards Lyra, who had been behind them, but due to their habit of ignoring maids and butlers after seeing them every day, they had ignored Lyra too.
"I welcome the Young Masters and Young Miss to the Wargrave Ducal Estate," Lyra spoke as she bowed lightly.
William, Ryaen, Finch, and Vaelric simply nodded, not particularly saying anything.
"Although she might not look like it, she is just one step away from stepping into the Crownstar Life Rank," Asher’s voice came again, a bit boastful this time. "She is at the Radiant Soulstar Life Rank."
At his words, their eyes flickered with interest. After all, having a maid of such caliber was insane to them; none of them had it. Not Vaelric, who was a Prince, or Ryaen, who was the daughter of a Duke.
Lyra smiled as she spoke, shaking her head. "I simply got lucky, the Young Master is praising me too much," her tone was humble.
William smiled like the training maniac he was as he spoke, "I guess I might be disturbing you for the next three days for a bit of insight, if you don’t mind of course," his tone straightforward and respectful.
Lyra nodded as she replied, "I’m available anytime, Young Master Canestane," a smile appearing on her lips.
