Chapter 1055: Too Clingy

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

Asher shook his head and decided to stop talking to the useless system that couldn’t reward him for his hard work. He sighed as he rose to his feet and headed towards his room. He didn’t need to clean it, as the Star Academy had already taken care of that. All he had to do was arrange his clothes in the wardrobe, then sleep or rest until tomorrow.

With the plan for the day made, Asher got to work. Within minutes, he was done hanging and arranging his clothes. Next, he moved and started setting up his television and the rest of his setup. He wasn’t bothered that he would be caught smuggling things into the Star Academy, as no Instructors or anybody else entered anyone’s room without permission.

As for Cindralis and Berion, the Vice Principal, he simply believed those two had better things to do with their time.

The moment Asher was done setting up his game, television, laptop, and monitors, a knock echoed through the room, causing him to pause mid-motion. He couldn’t help but sigh; his friends always seemed to have perfect timing each time.

He rose to his feet and walked towards the door. Opening it, there they were. Seeing them, Asher spoke.

"Aren’t the four of you being a bit too clingy or something?" he asked, his tone exasperated. "We literally spent the past three days together, don’t you all want to have some alone and personal time?" His expression was tired as he looked at them.

William walked in, unbothered by his complaint, as he spoke, "Your request for some alone and personal time has been candidly rejected," his tone playful as he made his way to the living room first and turned on the game. It was the only reason he was here, not to talk with Asher.

Ryaen walked in wearing a robe and hairpin she had bought at the Thalvorn Empire as she spoke, "No need to complain too much. Now that all of us are back at the Star Academy, you will barely even see us from tomorrow, as we would all be too busy with training, classes, and missions," she stated as she walked past Asher.

Her words were true, as the moment the academic session started in earnest, he wouldn’t see them much, and once he graduated, he wouldn’t see them for the next two years unless they met through fate or something.

Vaelric, who walked in next, simply added with a shrug, "You will grow to become the strongest man in the world one day. We are simply investing right now so we can reap the benefits in the future," his tone amused.

Asher couldn’t help but roll his eyes at Vaelric’s words.

As for Finch, he didn’t give any remarks. He simply walked past Asher. Asher could only sigh with a shake of his head as he closed the door. With that, he turned and walked towards the living room where everyone was gathered. He simply waved his hand, and bottles of wine, juice, and fruits appeared on the table.

Ryaen and William were already playing a racing game. Ryaen herself was quite good at gaming, while the rest of them simply watched as they ate and drank, none of them really speaking.

Asher, who was sitting on the floor with his back against one of the couches, couldn’t help but fall into his thoughts.

’I should tell them about my early graduation,’ he thought to himself as his eyes remained on the television.

As he was lost in his thoughts, Finch and Vaelric were already making bets with their Academy Points on who would win between Ryaen and William.

After a moment of contemplation, Asher decided to speak. There was no reason to keep them in the dark. He would be meeting Cindralis tomorrow anyway, so now was the best time to tell them about it.

"I have something to tell you guys," Asher spoke as he sighed.

At Asher’s words, their eyes turned towards him, but Finch simply said the first thing that came to his mind.

"Don’t tell me Arianna is already pregnant," he stated, his black eyes meeting Asher’s purple ones as though he had already anticipated such a situation.

Eyes turned from Asher and landed on Finch as they couldn’t help but wonder how deep Finch’s imagination was running for his mind to even head in that direction.

Asher simply sighed as he decided to just ignore the fatso. He didn’t want to know what went on inside that head of his. "After tomorrow’s announcement at the Event Hall, I plan to meet up with the Principal and apply for early graduation," he stated, his purple eyes staying on their faces as he studied their reactions.

Silence passed between Ryaen, William, Finch, and Vaelric as they simply remained silent. They didn’t know exactly what to say.

After a moment, William sighed as he spoke, "It seems it’s finally time for you to leave," a small smile appearing on his lips, his voice shattering the silence.

Although he hadn’t guessed about Asher’s early graduation, he knew that the day when they wouldn’t see Asher anymore would come. After all, it was literally impossible to see such an outrageous genius every single day.

Ryaen, who had been silent, smiled as she spoke, "Congratulations, Asher. Although I would miss hearing about your ridiculous feats each time I see you, I guess this is the next step forward for you," she stated, her smile deepening as she added, "It’s a shame we won’t be there to take the step with you."

Her mind shifted towards their first meeting, their fight, their time together, and how she had gradually grown out of her shell and become more expressive. She couldn’t help but wonder if, with Asher gone, she would revert back to her old self.

Asher simply smiled at Ryaen’s and William’s words, not exactly saying anything.

"Where do you plan to go after this?" Finch asked, as he was sure Asher must have thought about it.

Asher sighed as he replied, "I haven’t thought much about it, but probably the Frontier, or Outpost, whichever name you are most familiar with," his tone casual.

At Asher’s words, they all frowned. Their congratulations vanished, turning into a bit of worry.

Vaelric spoke as he narrowed his eyes, "The death count from each Frontier is sky-high, Asher. Are you sure this is the right move?" he asked, not because he doubted Asher’s abilities, but simply because he was worried. After all, there was no guarantee that Asher would survive just because he was strong and talented.

The rest couldn’t help but nod their heads in agreement. As Nobles, they knew about Frontiers and Outposts. After all, Knights from various Noble Families were always dispatched to oversee these Frontiers.

"No need to worry. If I’m about to die, I can just run away," Asher stated with a shrug.

Ryaen shook her head as she spoke, "You can’t run away. A mission is a mission when it comes to the Frontier," her tone lowering. Her older brother was at one of the Silvershade Family’s Frontiers, and she normally heard stories from him whenever he returned.
