Chapter 1099: Various Rooms

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

Lyra stayed silent as she walked. She couldn’t imagine a man as invincible as the Primarch coming face to face with death. She didn’t ask the Head Butler to go into detail, like what Life Rank the Duke was at that moment, or what enemy he encountered to push him to such a state.

She knew even if she asked, the man wouldn’t say, the fact he was already talking about the Duke coming close to death was generous enough.

Although, obviously, the Primarch wasn’t a Duke yet at the time, but still... it seemed mind-numbing.

She couldn’t help but imagine herself defying the Young Master’s orders, after all, right from the first day she got accepted as a Maid within the Wargrave Estate, she had been told orders were absolute. If you were given an order and you didn’t like it, you were welcome to quit, but after a certain number of years, one could forget about quitting.

Now, being told to defy an order when she had been trained to not defy any seemed... she didn’t know how to exactly put it into words.

Her eyes stayed on Zarek’s back for a moment as it seemed as though the man still blamed himself for leaving the Duke’s side on that day. She could understand where the man was coming from. If something ever happened to the Tenth Sun under her watch and it was something she could have prevented, she wasn’t sure she could forgive herself.

’No order stands above the Young Master’s life,’ she told herself as she resolved to go against Asher’s if such a time came.

’Another reason to step into the Crownstar Life Rank quickly,’ she thought to herself, ’that way I can get to whatever destination I’m supposed to head to in an instant and be back at the Young Master’s side before he dives into any battle.’ She exhaled.

Zarek turned his head towards her for a moment, then said nothing else. On a normal day, he wouldn’t speak so long with Lyra since the both of them weren’t exactly friends, nor were they close. Him talking and speaking about his own experience with the Duke in the past was simply a spark of the moment as he reminisced about the Duke’s days and watched Asher talk about the Frontier.

"Do you have any more advice for me, Head Butler?" Lyra asked as she took the opportunity to gain more knowledge. The more she knew, the more she could do to minimize any chances of death.

Zarek stayed silent for a moment as he stepped out through the passageway within the forest. As he listened to the whistling wind and dancing leaves, he spoke in a calm tone.

"Experience is the best teacher, Lyra. There is no need to rush, you just have to experience it for yourself and react accordingly," he stated as he stared at the clouds, his mind flashing with Azaron’s Frontier days.

He smiled as he remembered, then began to walk forward as he led Lyra to the location of the training facility that was reserved for the Maids and Butlers.

Back at the private Wargrave Training Facility, Asher could be seen standing within a room that had six doors on the metallic wall. Above one of these doors were labels that matched what he needed. One was labelled "Physical Conditioning," another was labelled "Astra Vein Cultivation," another was named "Swordsmanship Training," the next being "Combat Refinement and Attunement," another being "All Technique Creation," and the last being "Elemental Control Training."

’No door for Star Energy, huh?’ he mused to himself as his head turned to the left and then to the right as three doors were stationed to each side.

Without thinking too much, Asher stepped into the Elemental Control Training room as he pushed the door open, but he didn’t enter the training room, no, instead, even more doors appeared as various doors standing on his left and right appeared, each bearing each element.

Lightning. Light. Gravity. Space. Flame.

Asher felt tempted to dive into one of these doors and start his training immediately, but he couldn’t, he knew that once he stepped into any of these rooms, he wouldn’t be able to step out. So, for now, he held back the temptation he felt and turned around. He walked out of the Elemental Control Training room and stepped into the Astra Vein Cultivation room.

His goal at the moment was to breakthrough to the next sub-Life Rank, which was the Spark, as he was currently at the Dust Firmstar Life Rank.

As he stepped in, an intense wave of the purest Astra energy Asher had ever sensed in his entire life hit him. The Astra energy here was simply too immense, as though he had stepped into a river of Astra energy of some sort.

Asher’s eyes moved towards the wall and he could see various diagrams that seemed to look like runes. He walked around for a moment as his body seemed to rejoice at the sheer magnitude of Astra energy here.

’How long to get the Spark sub-Life Rank?’ he asked himself as he lowered himself to a lotus position, ’a month? Maybe more?’ He didn’t know.

He closed his eyes as he decided not to think too much about it. His Perfect Astra Control ability came alive as the next moment a surge of Astra energy poured into Asher’s body through his skin pores. He didn’t hesitate as he immediately began to refine every single Astra vein within his body simultaneously, his speed of refinement increasing with each moment as his Perfect Astra Control made sure the insane amount of Astra energy he was controlling didn’t go berserk and injure him instead.

Time ticked by as Asher’s Astra Veins became stronger and stronger. He seemed to forget about time as a whole. But the moment two weeks passed, the system chimed, causing him to slow down his cultivation speed.

He took out a plate of food and wine from his system inventory, then ate it slowly for a few minutes. With that done, the plates vanished as he returned back to his original position and closed his eyes again. The moment his eyes snapped shut, his cultivation speed skyrocketed again as each Astra energy that was spent and used to refine the Astra veins was instantly replaced by the cultivation room.
