The training chamber was wider than the dining chamber, so Lyra planted five black orbs here, which was two black orbs higher in count than she had planted at the dining chamber. In total, she had used eight black orbs.Three at the dining chamber and five at the training chamber, meaning she still had seven more to plant.
Lyra wouldn’t deny it; she was enjoying this spy work of hers. It was fun... too fun. She had spent over two decades of her life at the Wargrave Estate and had only recently started going on Wargrave Family approved missions on the orders of her Young Master.
Although she was enjoying herself, she didn’t show it. She didn’t blink more than normal, her heart rate remained calm and stable, as if anyone who couldn’t read emotions wouldn’t notice any external or internal change.
After spending five minutes faking interest in training and eventually losing it, Lyra turned and left. The moment she stepped out of the training chamber, her eyes fell on a woman who was walking by. The woman immediately stopped, gazed at Lyra from head to toe, then asked.
"Care for a spar to ease the boredom?"
The unknown woman asked, as she could tell that Lyra hadn’t exactly been through any intense training despite her coming out of the training chamber, but she didn’t ask, as it had nothing to do with her.
"No, I would much rather sleep."
Lyra replied as she broke eye contact and turned away, walking away as she left the woman, not granting her another chance to speak or initiate another conversation.
The woman trailed Lyra with her eyes, then shrugged and went her own way without thinking much about being rejected, as everyone cured their boredom in their own way.
Lyra didn’t need to search for the resting chambers, as she already knew where such a place was located. Arriving there, she walked past a few rooms, as she couldn’t just open the door and enter any random one. At this moment, even her Crownstar Life Rank senses failed her, as she couldn’t see through beyond the door.
She didn’t want to open any of the doors just to walk into some Soldiers who were talking, or worse, engaging in some extracurricular activities.
’What would Young Master do?’
Lyra asked herself as she frowned for a moment. She couldn’t afford to place the black orbs in some random place and risk discovery just because she couldn’t enter any of the rooms.
Although the black orbs were items from nineteen thousand years ago and could be considered ancient artifacts in a way, it didn’t mean that nobody here would recognize them just because none of them were alive nineteen thousand years ago.
After a moment, an idea flickered into her mind as she slowed down her walking pace. She didn’t need to rush; she still had about six minutes on the clock. Her plan at the moment was simple: just wait for any random Soldier to leave their own room, then, when the door was open, she would look inside with her senses, and if there was no one there, she would enter it.
Although it seemed stupid to wait around, she didn’t want to make any mistakes.
Three minutes passed before a door finally opened, a male Soldier stepping out of his room with a yawn and a stretch. Lyra’s senses scanned through the room to find another Soldier inside, but the man was fast asleep.
As the Soldier who had just stepped out of his room walked away without even glancing in Lyra’s direction despite sensing her, Lyra walked forward as she headed towards the room without a shred of hesitation.
As for why she decided to enter the room despite a Soldier being in there, it was simply because the Soldier wouldn’t react. When someone was asleep in a place that was secured, they would let their guard down without a shred of hesitation. It was almost the same way her Young Master always slept without care whenever he was within the Wargrave Estate.
So, the Soldier would be fast asleep, not reacting even if he heard her footsteps, as he would just assume the person who entered was his roommate.
Lyra opened the door, then entered without the slightest bit of fear. She closed the door behind her, not even bothering to make it close as gently or quietly as possible, as she didn’t want to do anything outside the usual norm.
She stayed still for a moment, then lowered herself to a squat as she planted two black orbs under the Soldier’s bottom bunk bed, then planted another two at another bottom bunk bed within the room, leaving her with only three black orbs. She rose, standing upright, and stared at the Soldier with an indifferent expression. Not even the thought of killing the man crossed her mind, as she couldn’t be bothered.
She turned, then opened the door and walked out, letting it close with a bang as she made her way to the next location where she would plant the remaining three black orbs. She barely had two minutes on the clock, but she remained unbothered.
She was a Crownstar Life Ranker; even if she set off the black orbs at point-blank range in front of her, it wouldn’t even leave a scratch on her.
After walking around for a while, she appeared within another area, planted the remaining three black orbs, then turned away, as in a single minute, this place would turn into an altar of death that could be used to summon some evil demon from the pit of hell... if hell existed here.
Asher had been following behind Lyra the entire time as he had watched the entire process. He could read her emotions and could tell this maid of his was having fun.
’With all the black orbs in place, I only need to wait for about sixty seven seconds.’
Asher thought to himself as he walked behind Lyra. He loved the strategic positions where she had placed the black orbs, like under the tables and bunk beds where nobody looked.
’Hmm... how about a little fun?’
Asher thought to himself with a playful smile on his face as an idea flickered into his mind. Although the idea was stupid and dangerous, the temptation to carry it out was immense. Half of his mind screamed rationality, while the other half screamed to do what he planned to do.
After a few seconds of fighting back and forth, the reckless side won.
And with that, Asher broke away from Lyra, as she could handle herself in any situation, unless the Grand Regent targeted her, of course.
---
Back in the room where the Grand Regent stayed, she had already received a reply in respect to the letter she had sent out earlier, proving how fast communication was between each hidden bunker, as she didn’t have to wait days to receive a consensus reply.
At this moment, she was addressing the First Regent, Second Regent, and Third Regent, passing along the information she had just received from the other hidden silver metallic underground bunkers scattered across the Zarethorne Empire.
