Chapter 1189: Flirting [Magic Castle Bonus Chapter ]

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

The three Regents could only frown as they wondered if they could win this after their Grand Regent had already lost once to this man. Although they didn’t know how long ago it was, a loss was a loss.

Their minds couldn’t help but snap to a couple of minutes ago when their Grand Regent had been talking about winning against any Wargrave that wasn’t Malrik, Azaron, and Morthern. Thinking of that, they couldn’t help but become doubtful.

Their eyes scanned their numbers. The current number of Soldiers they had would be eaten alive if Damian Wargrave decided to unleash his entire lineup.

The Grand Regent, who had been frowning, closed her eyes, her emotions settling. Indeed, she and Damian Wargrave were acquaintances, as they had fought during one of the minor skirmishes between their Empires about two hundred years ago. It was such a long time ago that even she had forgotten about it until she was deployed to fight this man again.

Her eyes snapped open, her red eyes meeting Damian’s black ones as a small smile appeared on her lips. When she said she now possessed enough strength to fight Damian, she wasn’t exactly boasting despite losing two centuries ago.

About half a century ago, she had experienced a Trance during one of her training sessions. Her ability had undergone an evolution, and her combat prowess had soared to the next level. At the time, she felt like a new and different species of Human.

It had to be known that the recorded people whose abilities had undergone a true evolution throughout recorded history were extremely few. And yet, she was among them. She had achieved something even Morgana Wargrave, the Second Great Elder, was currently trying to achieve, as her own Cloud Affinity had undergone a partial evolution.

Of course, the Grand Regent wasn’t dumb enough to calculate Damian’s current strength based on the strength he had displayed two centuries ago. Obviously, the man would have improved, even though he was at the Radiant Crownstar Life Rank.

And just because someone’s ability underwent an evolution didn’t suddenly mean they were all-powerful, but it also didn’t mean they weren’t.

"It’s been a while, Damian."

The Grand Regent began to speak as she stepped forward, her foot leaving the earth as she floated upwards towards Damian’s level.

Unlike others who kept grudges and whatnot after losing, the Grand Regent found such things tedious and stupid. She would rather spend and invest the time used to keep a record of grudges into her training.

"Can’t say the same."

Damian replied as he proceeded to lie down midair, his hands folded behind his head as he gazed at the Grand Regent.

"It seems I’ve been in your mind for quite a while now, to the point that you personally came here to fight me again."

Damian continued nonchalantly, teasing the woman as though he wasn’t in a battlefield but in his private chambers instead.

"You know, I’m kind of single. What do you say we hash this out and go on a date?"

He suggested with a smile on his face, not changing his attitude despite the number of people watching.

Everyone who stood below was rendered speechless. The moment their Grand Regent had ascended into the air, they had been ready to run away from the destruction these two might cause, but instead of a fight, the Commander was here asking her out on a date.

Even Asher and Lyra were dumbfounded, as they hadn’t seen this coming. Asher couldn’t believe that Damian was actually behaving like this; he felt as if his eyes were failing him at this moment. Damian was a powerful man, who didn’t know that? Yet, here he was, flirting, if it could even be called that.

If Soldiers from the Frontier were present, like the Generals and the likes, Damian wouldn’t behave this way, as he had a reputation to keep and uphold. And as for the Soldiers standing below him, why should he care about a bunch of people who were about to die?

This was simply the kind of man Damian was. He wasn’t a sucker for rules and didn’t play around most of the time, as even with the seriousness of the entire situation, he still found a way to joke.

The Grand Regent didn’t speak for a moment. She wasn’t surprised by Damian’s words, as Damian had done this exact same thing two hundred years ago. It wasn’t her, but another female Crownstar Life Ranker who was present on the battlefield.

She smiled and decided to play along.

"I will think about it if you don’t report what just happened to other Frontiers or anyone else."

She suggested with a playful smile on her lips.

Damian touched his chin. He stared into empty space as he began to consider the suggestion. After a moment, he smiled as he finally responded.

"I accept if you win against me. After all, after two centuries, and with your current confidence, I can tell you’ve grown stronger quite a lot."

His black eyes returned to her, as even though he wasn’t exactly looking at her, his attention was on her.

The Grand Regent simply shook her head with an amused smile. They were going to fight anyway, so whether she accepted or not didn’t matter at the end of the day. But before she could speak, Damian raised a hand, his Astra Energy flaring as he snapped his fingers.

The Grand Regent vanished from where she stood. She understood Damian’s ability extremely well. Although she didn’t know what exactly Damian had done by snapping his fingers, it was best not to remain close.

SNAP!

As the echo of Damian’s snap came alive, one million Soldiers from the Algorith Frontier suddenly found themselves standing opposite Soldiers from the Velkarin Empire. Not only them, the three Vice Commanders also appeared below as Saitama and Acker appeared beside Asher.

The newcomers were stunned for a moment at the sight they had just witnessed. Not shocked by the teleportation, but by the presence of Velkarin Empire Soldiers.

Damian didn’t need to give any speech, nor did he need to give any command. Everyone here knew they had to fight; his words would add nothing to something they already knew.

Tension immediately rose as weapons were drawn, eyes locked upon each other, Astra Energy of various quantities flaring as abilities activated without reservations.

Damian stared downwards at the Soldiers. Personally, at this moment, he was tempted to use his ability to reduce either the strength, agility, or speed of his Soldiers, but he couldn’t. This battle wasn’t against Monsters or Emovira, but against fellow Humans.

He didn’t have the time to babysit them, as he would be holding back the Grand Regent and the potential End-Class Monster. So him reducing his forces’ abilities by any quantity might cause more harm than good.

His eyes shifted towards the three Vice Commanders. As their eyes met, he simply nodded at them, then broke eye contact, his eyes fixing on the Grand Regent. They both nodded and vanished, as them battling here would wipe out both forces.

As for the Vice Commanders, they hadn’t arrived here earlier simply because Damian had told them to stay behind just in case something or someone made a move on the Empire during his absence.
