Chapter 1255: Light Users

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

At another Frontier, far away from the one where Saitama and Acker had appeared, a flash of light erupted above the Frontier. Within the light, soldiers from the Algorith Frontier appeared, their bodies streaking downwards from the sky as they landed with booming sounds.

The moment they landed, their weapons were drawn. There was no command, no order, nothing. They all had a singular purpose: to kill all enemies on sight. Such an easy task didn’t require any orders or tactics.

Bodies blurred forward like vipers pouncing on their prey without a shred of hesitation.

Asher was among this group. The moment he landed, his perceptions stretched as time slowed for a moment within his perception, allowing him to take in everything calmly.

Although he didn’t sense Acker or Saitama, he didn’t bother thinking about them, as he came to the conclusion that Commander Damian had spread them out for greater efficiency.

Without missing a beat, he tapped into his Astra Energy, and his Light Affinity came alive, his body turning yellow for a moment before he vanished from where he stood. Appearing before the first soldier, his rapier flashed with a white light.

Before the soldier could even blink, a thin silver line appeared on his neck as his head soared into the air. Asher didn’t stop. His body moved in a zigzag, his speed incredible, his technique perfect as he used his speed and a single slash to handle everything in his path.

As he moved, Omni Perception flickered. Without missing a beat, he stopped, then twisted, linking both opposing motions like they were one. As he dodged, various darts tore through the space where he had been moments before.

The moment he twisted out of the way, his hand swept upwards as Virelass sang upwards, a long sword line streaking in the direction from which an attack had come earlier.

The assassin mirrored Asher’s motion and dodged easily, his speed, body control, and agility precise and ridiculous. But it was useless, as Asher closed the distance, Light pushing his speed to a ridiculous degree. Before the assassin could even recalibrate, his rapier flashed in a diagonal slash.

The assassin was immediately split into unequal halves from the shoulder to the waist. Asher didn’t bother thinking about the dead; he was already making his next move.

His body blitzed forward like he had teleported. The moment he appeared, he blocked an attack that came from behind a soldier from the Zarethorne Empire, saving the man’s life.

As metal met metal, Asher deflected the spear to the side, then unleashed a thrust, his hand and foot streaking forward like those of a fencing grandmaster. With a booming force, a hole the size of a fist tore open in the Black man’s chest.

Asher vanished once more, his Omni Perception leading him to the next opponent, his mind and concentration focusing on those in need of immediate support and rescue.

The trail of bodies Asher left behind grew with each passing moment, increasing steadily until it reached a hundred within a couple of seconds. But it changed nothing, as the battlefield was simply too massive, and the soldiers numbered in the thousands, if not more.

His figure shot into the sky as he leaped upwards. He extended his left hand forward, his Light Affinity humming for a moment as Light stretched forward from his fingertips, forming hundreds of thin Light whips. The whips immediately lashed outwards like vipers, each one capturing a Velkarin Empire soldier by the ankle or wrist.

Before any of them could even react, Asher swung his hand upwards, lifting over five hundred soldiers in one smooth motion. He didn’t give them the chance to act, slamming them into the ground in another direction with immense force.

Various booms echoed across the battlefield as bodies slammed into the earth. Ravines tore open as rocks, stones, and dirt shot upwards from the impact. Of the five hundred, four hundred died immediately, while a hundred survived, but they were already critically injured.

But Asher gave them no chance. He flicked his finger, and with that, the whips around their limbs extended upwards, reaching their necks before coiling around them like snakes, choking the living daylight out of them.

As he handled them, another attack came in from behind. He didn’t even bother turning; he simply leaned to the side. The moment he shifted, the attack slammed into the buildings in front of him, the bricks and everything else exploding with tremendous force.

Asher immediately moved, his body vanishing in a burst of Light as he closed the distance between himself and his new enemy behind him. But the moment he closed the distance, his enemy was gone in a familiar yellow flash.

Asher’s eyes snapped towards the enemy’s new position as he immediately understood that the woman could manipulate Light just like him. The woman immediately formed swords of Light and fired them without a shred of hesitation.

Their speed was incredible, far too fast for an ordinary opponent to handle. But it wasn’t something Asher couldn’t manage. He didn’t even bother moving; with a thought, Gravity came alive, and the attacks deflected to the side as Gravity altered their trajectories.

But Asher didn’t merely change their course; he made sure that each Light sword struck at least one Velkarin soldier in the distance. The woman didn’t care; she simply sent out more, but Asher wasn’t here to exchange long-distance attacks like a mage.

He vanished from where he stood, his figure appearing behind the woman as he teleported behind her. Virelass sang downwards as he moved to split the woman perfectly in half. As Virelass was seconds away from tearing through her skull first, the woman vanished from where she stood, appearing on a building’s roof.

Her speed put the speed of sound to shame.

Asher arched an eyebrow at the woman’s speed; it was simply too ridiculous. Frankly, he found it hard to believe that he had spent five seconds handling this woman when he had spent a second on every enemy before her, aside from Zuri.

Clearly, her greatest strength was her speed.

His head snapped towards her direction. He raised his left hand, then snapped his fingers. With that, the space around the woman’s head collapsed instantaneously. But the woman was gone again, her sixth sense warning her of the danger. As she moved, Asher simply moved at a speed greater than hers in that moment.

The moment he closed the distance, the serrated blade met flesh. Blood splattered across the rooftop they stood on as her head dropped onto the roof tiles, then rolled downwards.

Asher’s eyes snapped towards the battlefield. His Star Energy pulsed outwards, extending across a two-kilometre radius. In that moment, every Velkarin Empire soldier halted in shock as they had all mysteriously lost their ability to manipulate their Astra Energy.

They could sense it within their Astra Veins, but they couldn’t use it.

Unfortunately for them, the Zarethorne Empire soldiers weren’t suffering from the same skill issue. The moment their opponents faltered, they asked no questions and simply acted, capitalising on the opportunity to inflict damage and kill their enemies, instantly changing the tide of battle within that radius.

Asher’s purple eyes snapped towards another direction, his body ready to shoot towards it and change the tide of battle there as well.
