Chapter 1523: Entering The Death Realm (1)

The seventh level was still empty apart from those hiding in the realm barrier. Su Yu did not intend to look for them. With Yun Chen there, they would leave when the time was right.

Apart from the variable known as Old Zhou, things were mostly safe for the remaining humans in the mansion. However, they also needed to be wary lest the death spirits return. If the heavenly laws did not return to suppress the death tunnel, the seventh level would eventually become a world of death spirits.

"The death spirits will not be able to enter the eighth level since there's a guardian watching the entrance."

While thinking of all that, Su Yu reached the entrance. Once again, he ripped space apart and stepped through the opening. One needed enough strength to force one's way down the levels in the mansion. Su Yu was now strong enough to do so.

When the entrance was ripped open, everyone looked over warily.

Who was it?

Before long, they saw Su Yu and his fluttering white robes. Behind him, the dark Xing Yue and her roiling death qi followed. Their expressions turned odd.

Su Yu...seemed to be quite close to this death spirit. All the other death spirits had left, but this one remained. Was this the death sovereign known as Xing Yue, the one who had converted Su Yu? Since when did a friendship between the dead and the living become possible?

Shortly after, Zhu Tianfang flew over and asked, "Is Blood Fire dead?"

"Yeah." Su Yu cupped his fists and said, "He died easily. However, the Heaven Department head is probably still alive. He's nowhere to be seen on the seventh and eighth levels. I don't know if he has entered the Death Realm or vanished in the River of Time. In any case, he will be missing for a while."

Regardless of which option he had taken, it wouldn't be so easy for him to return to the Myriad Realms. If he had entered the Death Realm, he would need to return through the ancient cities. But he would require Su Yu's permission to do so. What could he do if he couldn't secure Su Yu's permission?

Great Qin King, who was seated cross-legged, opened his eyes when Su Yu approached. Su Yu said nothing and took the cauldron out. When he lifted the lid, the eight remaining pills started trying to flee again.

The fragrance leaking out of the cauldron attracted everyone's attention. Great Qin King's eyes flickered.

Su Yu smiled, "This is my gift to the backbone of humanity. These pills should be enough for your remaining body to recover greatly. You might even return to the ninth degree. With the Source Return Blade, you won't be weaker than your previous self. You will only lack two additional lives."

Su Yu continued, "I hope you won't take a page out of Devil Pseudo Emperor's book. Before his death, Blood Fire told me that the rise of any race and supreme expert should never be the type of rise fueled by the sacrifice of the young."

"I believe you will understand something even a devil understands."

After sealing the eight pills, Su Yu handed them to Great Qin King. With a slight bow, he said, "Consider this my contribution for my race. Hopefully, these pills can serve the race as a whole, not specific individuals."

Race and individual.

Great Qin King was an individual, but in a way, he was also the representative of an entire race.

Su Yu was making it clear that this was a gift out of respect for the guardian of humanity. If Great Qin King were to lose his way, he would no longer be qualified for these pills.

Great Qin King stared at Su Yu silently. After a while, he accepted the pills and said, "Don't worry."

Su Yu said nothing else and turned to leave. Just then, space rippled. When Su Yu turned back to look, his eyes flickered. A massive spatial beast could be seen in the sky. A somewhat translucent beast.

Hollow would rarely reveal his real body, but Su Yu could see at a glance that this was Hollow of the spatial beast race. He was affirming his dao.

Su Yu was surprised, but soon, understanding dawned on him. Near Hollow, an anxious Yellow Nine could be seen. She had not cared about Su Yu's arrival.

Su Yu understood why. He didn't mind it. The kindness of upbringing was greater than the kindness of birth. For Yellow Nine, nobody was more important than Hollow. Because Hollow had treated her well.

Su Yu looked at Hollow. He had decided to stay for a bit as he wanted to observe the dao affirmation of a spatial beast. Perhaps this would help in his comprehension of the power of space.

A massive River of Time appeared in the sky.

First, a gigantic spatial beast walked out of it. That was the future body. It looked incomparably powerful. Instantly, the future body went into Hollow's main body. A solemn look could be seen in Hollow's eyes.

Following a powerful burst of power, a second figure walked out of the River of Time. This figure was different from the previous figure. It was very strong. It also looked ethereal, emanating an aura similar to the aura of immortals. At the same time, a thick cloud of heavenly source qi shrouded it.

Understanding dawned on everyone as they saw it. Hollow had used the coffin lid on his past body. Tiangu's coffin lid was also a peak heaven weapon. After being in Tiangu's possession for so many years, part of his dao had been imprinted on the lid as well.

Su Yu asked curiously, "Just how did he steal the coffin lid from Tiangu? Did Tiangu not carry his coffin with him all the time?"

Great Qin King answered, "The humans have something to do with that. Back then, I went scouting in the Immortal Realm with a few other humans. At the time, Tiangu was in the middle of his cultivation. When he sensed us, he left seclusion to look for us. Hollow took the chance to sneak into his lair and steal his coffin lid. As for the coffin, it was bound to Tiangu so Hollow couldn't steal it. Tiangu had not bothered to bind the coffin lid as well since it was merely an attachment of the coffin."

Su Yu had to admit that Hollow was truly brazen. He was also good at picking the right timing to act.

Su Yu said, "Since you have been in the Immortal Realm, is Tiangu the oldest immortal? I believe a race like the immortals should have the highest number of surviving ancient experts."

"I'm not sure." Great Qin King solemnly said, "The immortals have not fought much for many years. Meanwhile, the divines, devils, humans, and dragons have fought and lost a lot. Meanwhile, the immortals have been able to keep their losses minimal. Excluding their recent deaths, the immortals have not lost any Eternal for the past four hundred years. They probably have some surviving ancient fossils from the previous epochs as well. I also suspect that they are the main reason for humanity's defeat during the previous epoch."

Su Yu asked, "How much do you know about the previous epochs?"

Clearly, the Myriad Realms have more secrets than we know."

He continued, "I checked some records about the previous epoch. Humanity was very powerful in the ninth epoch. It was said that the humanity of ninth epoch was second only to the humanity of the first epoch. Nine is the limit. The ninth epoch should be the final epoch. The cycle should have ended there with either a final victory or a final defeat. But the human king of the ninth epoch died before the final battle, resulting in a premature defeat."

Su Yu nodded, "You mean some mysterious force will suppress humanity at the end of every epoch, preventing humanity from rising again."

"Exactly." Great Qin King said, "These people might be the experts left from the ancient past. Or it might be related to the assembly. But humanity has survived. Thus, humanity must have left some trump cards behind as well. Nobody knows if humanity will survive the tenth epoch. Will we win? Will we lose? Will we lose so badly that there won't be a human race anymore in the next epoch?"

He concluded, "You can try asking those old fossils in the ancient cities. They might know more."

Su Yu nodded and said nothing else. He started observing Hollow's dao affirmation in silence. Dao affirmation through the Three Body Method wasn't hard, but it required luck. If one were unlucky, one would fail in fusing the three bodies.

Su Yu could sense that Hollow had strengthened his present body with the nine-leaf skylotus, barely reaching a balance between his three bodies.

Initially, Hollow's past body was the strongest, followed by his future body. His present body would be the weakest. Both his past and future bodies had reached the level of Invincibles, but his present body had been stuck at the level of a Pseudo Invincible.

With the nine-leaf skylotus, he had successfully pushed his present body to the same level. As the three bodies fused, space rippled around him. The dao affirmation of this race was greatly linked to space itself.

Su Yu observed in silence. He did not know too much about space. Thus, this was a good opportunity for him to learn and comprehend more. He was not alone. Hu Xiansheng had appeared beside Zhu Tianfang. He was an expert specializing in space, and he was also observing Hollow earnestly. As he observed, space started rippling around him.

Noticing that, Su Yu split his attention two ways and observed both Hollow and Hu Xiansheng at the same time.

Having sunk into a state of comprehension, Hu Xiansheng started drawing his palm through the air. With each move, he would create numerous ripples in thin air. One ought to know that the space in the mansion was stable enough to sustain the battle of Invincibles. The space here couldn't be affected so easily.

Hu Xiansheng was merely a second-stage Sunmoon, yet he had gained the ability to easily create ripples in space with a mere touch. Evidently, he had an impressive level of mastery over space.

"Space...teleportation, point to point, different dimensions..."

Su Yu had once formed a space-related character. It was the beast character, meant to store tamed beasts. However, it was not a real space character. He also had previous experience in cutting space for his weaponsmithing.
