Chapter 1694: A Dog's Dao (1)

Everything had changed.

The situation had reversed completely.

Iron Devourer Pseudo Emperor, Spatial Beast Pseudo Emperor, Primordial Giant King, Great Zhou King, double furballs, book spirit, old turtle, tea plant, and hou. Ten Daofuses.

These were the Daofuses standing on humanity's side.

As of the myriad races, the immortal, devil, divine, dragon, phoenix, ape, spirit, nether, golden peng, celestial chasm, and Heavenly Overseer Marquis were the Daofuses fighting for them. Including the two dead marquises and the two who had escaped, a total of fifteen Daofuses had fought for them at one point or another.

Four were lost.

The Ape Pseudo Emperor had escaped with injuries.

Of the Daofuses who were still neutral, the Fate Pseudo Emperor was the most well-known. And he had remained neutral until the very end.

That left three myriad race Daofuses to face the five Daofuses on humanity's side, with one of the three being the injured Ape Pseudo Emperor.

The smile on the Dragon Pseudo Emperor's face had long vanished. He roared, "Ape Pseudo Emperor, Spirit Pseudo Emperor, come to me! We need to group up!"

They needed to work together to find a way out of this. They couldn't continue fighting alone and risk being encircled.

The book spirit and tea plant joined the hou against the Dragon Pseudo Emperor. Suddenly, Su Yu shouted, "Kill the Spirit Pseudo Emperor!"

The Spirit Pseudo Emperor, who was fighting the Iron Devourer Pseudo Emperor, paled.

Killing her? She had believed that she was most certainly the Daofuse Su Yu hated least here. Why would she be the target instead of the Dragon Pseudo Emperor? She was confused, but she did not have the luxury to think about the matter.

Noticing the spreading panic, Tiangu's expression changed. He roared furiously, "Heavenly Overseer Marquis, go over there and help them! Leave Zhou Tianqi and Soy Bun to me!"

He was a peak Daofuse. Thus, he had to take on two opponents alone to free one of them. They couldn't lose the battle outside the Human Realm or the consequences would be dire.

However, the Heavenly Overseer Marquis was unwilling to follow his plan. "You go. I'll stay."

Yes. He would rather face two opponents alone here than go.

He did not want to go.

The sight of the Myriad Dao Sutra had ruined his mental state. He did not want to be there.

Soy Bun started ordering Great Zhou King around instead.

Tiangu ignored Soy Bun. He was looking for an opportunity to leave.

"Don't even dream of leaving."

The long-awaited opportunity had finally arrived. Great Zhou King would naturally not allow any of them to leave so easily. He knew full well just how strong Tiangu and the Heavenly Overseer Marquis were. That was precisely why he couldn't allow them to leave.

"Friend Soy Bun, keep Tiangu busy. I'll handle Heavenly Overseer Marquis."

Instantly, Great Zhou King's aura surged as a character manifested before him before appearing in front of the Heavenly Overseer Marquis with a flicker.

The Heavenly Overseer Marquis was the expert second only to the old turtle in the Myriad Realms.

However, he seemed distracted. When a golden page appeared, the look in his eyes changed slightly as more fear seeped in. But that only lasted a short moment as he hurriedly suppressed his thoughts before sending both the golden page and his palm out..

Great Zhou King, who was in the middle of teleporting elsewhere, was met with an extremely rare failure of teleportation. The space around him shattered, spitting him back to his original position to face the incoming palm attack by the Heavenly Overseer Marquis.

"Impressive."

Great Zhou King sighed. That was too impressive. The power of luck was indeed not something to be underestimated. A manipulator of luck could cause him misfortune so easily. Even when he was already teleporting elsewhere, a random spatial accident had occurred to return him right to the path of Heavenly Overseer Marquis' attack.

With a rumble, Great Zhou King was pushed back. Yet he merely smiled. A character could be seen hovering in front of him: hard.

Heavenly Overseer Marquis frowned. A barrier had appeared in front of Great Zhou King.

And that barrier had survived a clash against his palm.

"Open!"

With another roar, Great Zhou King pulled even further back as the space around him warped and opened up for him.

"Cover!"

Yet another character appeared, just in time to stop Heavenly Overseer Marquis' palm right after it broke through the hard character.

Explode!

Boom!

Space itself exploded, setting Heavenly Overseer Marquis' hand on fire.

And in the middle of all that, Great Zhou King was continuously pulling back from the marquis. With a smile, he said, "The path of luck is unpredictable, but the path of characters isn't any less enigmatic."

Heavenly Overseer Marquis frowned coldly and asked, "Great Zhou King...are you sure you're a human from this epoch?"

He found that hard to believe.

Great Zhou King's characters were too powerful.

And he had a large number of these characters.

"Of course." Great Zhou King asked, "Do you think one must live long to be strong? You're wrong. Humanity will always be far stronger than you can imagine."

At that, eighteen powerful characters appeared around him.

"Yin, yang, opposite, chaos. Reverse, turn, sun, moon!"

With that, the heaven and earth were overturned, as though the entire Myriad Realms had turned upside down. "Reversal of luck. Arrival of misfortune."

As the characters danced about, the power of numerous laws trembled.

Just as Heavenly Overseer Marquis wanted to take a step forth, an unlikely accident happened. He stepped upon a tiny crack in space, creating a massive rift in space right under him.

His expression changed yet again.

"You reversed my luck!"

This shouldn't be possible!

At this point, Great Zhou King was already coughing blood from the exertion. With a pale expression, he said, "Luck? Luck is merely a supporting power. Only death awaits you if you treat it as your one and only trump card."

Then, he vanished with a flicker, followed by a massive explosion.

Up in the sky, two daos manifested before clashing against each other.

Great Zhou King reappeared, pointing at one of the daos with his finger. With a snort, Heavenly Overseer Marquis released numerous characters as well.

"I can do the same!"

His characters spread out, reversing the five elements and shattering the space around them. As a former follower of Culture King, how could he not be proficient in characters as well?

Tiangu, who was giving Soy Bun a beating, glanced over and was surprised by what he saw. Both of them were far stronger than he had imagined. More importantly, they had fought with characters instead of their bodies.

As someone who had just achieved Daofuse, Great Zhou King was actually capable of reversing Heavenly Overseer Marquis' luck with only his characters. Just like that, Heavenly Overseer Marquis' biggest trump card was neutralized.

Tiangu had thought that Heavenly Overseer Marquis would be strong enough to handle two of these Daofuses, but clearly, he was having a hard time just handling Great Zhou King alone. This was unbelievable.

That would not happen. Both Tiangu and Heavenly Overseer Marquis were very strong, but they were still prevented from leaving.

Great Zhou King might be smiling, but Soy Bun was in a far worse mood. Out of nowhere, he roared, "Tiangu, you have angered me!"

He had been receiving a one-sided beating from Tiangu throughout the battle. He wasn't Tiangu's match. And finally, he lost his temper. A massive dao manifested above him. The moment it appeared, it started devouring everything around it, including space itself. In his fury, he swung his tiny arms around. Time itself started reversing.

Soy Bun started shrinking. His aura started dropping as well. After an indeterminate amount of time, under Tiangu's shocked expression, a certain figure appeared before Soy Bun. A figure with fluttering white robes.

Not far away, Heavenly Overseer Marquis paled with fright.

The face of that figure was indistinct, but it was clad in fluttering white robes.

Soy Bun's strength had dropped considerably, yet he appeared incomparably excited. He shouted, "Culture King's possession! Kill Tiangu!"
