Chapter 1938: This Is My Territory (3)

Su Yu licked his lips.

"River of Time...no, that doesn't look like it. More like a tributary...yet not a tributary at the same time. It resembles the Celestial River of Death more...yes, an incomplete Celestial River of Death."

Understanding dawned on Su Yu. He finally understood what he was looking at. That must be the incomplete dao of Human Emperor. Something must have happened before Human Emperor could complete it. Left with no choice, he could only abandon his work here.

"Is that the case?"

Su Yu muttered to himself as he observed. Strictly speaking, this dao was more like a tributary of the River of Time as well. However, it was different from regular tributaries since it was far larger. And it was incomplete.

Did Human Emperor give up on it? Or did he still maintain his ownership over this dao? Su Yu continued his observation, ignoring the drain on his energy. This was the benefit of having the Heaven Gate. He could see what countless experts couldn't see.

"This is essentially a tributary with unique attributes.

"The River of Time contains countless daos. The Celestial River of Death contains only the death spirit dao. In that case, what dao is this?

"Is this Human Emperor's dao? Or Culture King's?"

Culture King had abandoned some of his daos as well, such as the pen dao. Was Culture King the one who had done this? Or was it Human Emperor?

Su Yu was unsure.

"Can I reach the River of Time through this place? It should be possible. There must be a node connecting both. An incomplete dao wouldn't be leaking so much power otherwise.

"But what about those masterless daos?"

Su Yu had never encountered masterless daos in the River of Time...well, that wasn't exactly right as he had yet to see every single tributary in the River of Time. Furthermore, not all those tributaries could be entered, and even upon entering, one wouldn't be able to master them easily.

Just what was up with the masterless daos here?

Numerous questions emerged in Su Yu's mind.

"Can I enter the River of Time here? Didn't Hundred Battle fight in the Lower Realm back then? Why is he sealed here? Where is he being sealed? Did they fight an intense battle down there before dragging him up here to be sealed?"

That would be harder than killing him, right? This place was too interesting for Su Yu. He had seen through some of the truths behind the Chaos Mountain. His strength was limiting his ability to learn more.

But this place was a lot more interesting. This was a place where a dao had been opened. A unique dao. A dao that was supposed to recreate the Myriad Realms.

"Too interesting..."

Su Yu kept muttering to himself while Brave Martial and the others looked at him doubtfully. What was so interesting about this? They only knew that this was a dangerous place.

When Su Yu tried ripping the space apart, he frowned and muttered, "No, this isn't working outside the curtain. There is no connection to the River of Time here."

Shadow Marquis nodded, "Yes, it will only work inside. That curtain is blocking access..."

Su Yu shook his head, "No, it's not blocking anything. The range is simply too short. It only covers the Dao Origin Land."

Wasn't that the same thing?

Shadow Marquis couldn't understand.

For Su Yu, there was naturally a difference. It wasn't that the curtain was powerful enough to block the reach of the river. Rather, Human Emperor's river was simply too short. It wasn't the real River of Time, capable of spreading far and wide.

"The River of Time can only be accessed after entering the curtain, but going inside will trigger the curtain itself, which is formed of the powers of laws. Was it Human Emperor? Or Culture King?"

Su Yu sank into thought.

Suddenly, he looked at Great Zhou King and asked, "Did the development of the Upper Realm continue all the way until the end of the ancient past?"

"Did Human Emperor leave the Luminous Domain Mansion during the late period of the ancient past?"

"No. He remained in the mansion until the very end."

Su Yu frowned and asked, "What about Culture King?"

"He went missing earlier than that."

Su Yu sighed. Something wasn't adding up. Human Emperor wasn't here. Culture King was missing. In that case, who did this? Was it possible that Human Emperor had pioneered a dao without leaving the Myriad Realms?

Was he really so excessively strong? No. That wasn't it.

Suddenly, Su Yu's eyes flickered. He looked at Great Zhou King again and asked, "Toward the late period of the ancient past, were there time fluctuations in the ninth level of the mansion?"

Great Zhou King frowned and said, "Time fluctuations...what are you talking about?"

Su Yu thought about it and said, "Scratch that. Answer this. Can you access the River of Time on the ninth level?"

"No!" Great Zhou King shook his head and said, "The reach of the River of Time does not extend to the ninth level."

Su Yu's eyes flickered again as numerous thoughts emerged in his mind. Human Emperor had remained in the mansion, yet a dao was pioneered here. Did Human Emperor...pioneer his dao on the ninth level?

Perhaps the ninth level was actually connected to the Upper Realm!

"Since the first underground level is connected to the Death Realm, it's reasonable for the top level to be connected to the Upper Realm. In that case, this was definitely Human Emperor's work. The node is connected to the ninth level of the mansion."

One by one, Su Yu connected the dots.

He was greatly shocked. Luminous Domain Mansion.

What a nice place.

It was connected to both the Death Realm and the Upper Realm. It was essentially a massive transportation node. Through the mansion, Human Emperor could spread his rule throughout the three realms.

Human Emperor was truly bold and ambitious. He was someone who had truly extended his grasp toward all three realms.

Upper Realm, Myriad Realms, and Death Realm.

From the ninth level of the mansion, he ruled everything.

If Human Emperor had been able to complete his dao pioneering in the Upper Realm, who could be his match?

This was merely a speculation on Su Yu's part, but he was certain his speculation wouldn't be that far from the truth. That was the only explanation. Was Human Emperor supposed to take frequent trips out of his mansion to the Upper Realm to pioneer a dao?

The only explanation was a node on the ninth level. A node connecting the River of Time and the Upper Realm. He could then steal from the River of Time and pioneer his own dao in the Upper Realm.

"Impressive."

Everyone stared at Su Yu blankly as he praised while staring at the sky.

Nobody knew what he was talking about. Nobody knew what he was looking at.

They were all confused.

Brave Martial General asked through voice transmission, "What are you seeing here, Human Lord?"

Su Yu smiled and said, "I'm looking at the ambition of the ancient Human Emperor. I am looking at the prowess of the ancient Human Emperor. I'm looking at the wisdom of the ancient Human Emperor. A pity. Truly a pity. That unreliable Culture King...if he had stayed...the moment Human Emperor succeeded...sigh. What a pity."

Su Yu shook his head.

Cloud Water Marquis frowned and said, "Culture King was wise as well..."

"You don't understand."

Su Yu shook his head. They wouldn't understand. They only saw how strong Culture King was, but they couldn't see Human Emperor's strategic wisdom.

That was a true sage.

Developing and pioneering a new dao in the Upper Realm and breaking free from the River of Time through creation. Humanity would become independent of the River of Time, ruling the Myriad Realms from the Upper Realm.

If Culture King and Martial King had stayed long enough, Human Emperor would have been able to complete the plan. Cloud Water Marquis and the others looked confused. They didn't understand? Well, perhaps that was really the case.

Great Zhou King sighed and said, "His Majesty was indeed a sagely leader."

That was the only thing he could say. But even such a sagely leader had vanished for a hundred thousand years.

"I have been spending a lot of time with Culture King's legacy, but today, I wish to take a look at Human Emperor's dao." Su Yu looked excited as he said, "Allow me to witness the brilliance of one who had surpassed even Culture King to become the Human Emperor."

Su Yu had deduced that the stone was the initial token used by Human Emperor.

But Great Zhou King still looked nervous as he asked, "But what if it doesn't work?"

"I'll go alone. What is there to fear? If it doesn't work, I will force my way through and enter the River of Time immediately. Don't worry. Nobody knows the river better than me."

How confident.

"Don't follow me. You guys will simply slow me down. You can expose me too easily."

They didn't know what to feel about that.

Su Yu said, "I'll look around before coming back for you guys."

With that, he vanished into thin air.

His voice rang out in the ears of Great Zhou King and Lan Tian, "Keep an eye on them. The moment they try something funny, attack, expose them, and run. Wait for me at the Buried Soul Mountain."

How ruthless.

Great Zhou King's expression did not change as he received his order. Su Yu was still as ruthless and cautious as ever. Even now, he was still treating the ancient human experts as outsiders.

Great Zhou King also rejoiced that Su Yu seemed to have finally stopped viewing him as an outsider. He felt like crying. It hadn't been easy for him.

Thank the heavens for the existence of these old fellows. With them around, he could finally break free from being labeled as a Hundred Battle King supporter. They were more fitting for this title.

Meanwhile, Su Yu was standing right before the curtain.

He slowly poked his arm through the curtain while holding the stone. Sure enough, the curtain remained calm. He was overjoyed. This not only signified that he could enter and leave undetected. It also signified that he could possibly suppress the daos of the myriad race experts here as well.

"This is Human Emperor's personal territory. And Human Emperor's territory is essentially mine."

Su Yu was overjoyed. Holy shit! What a surprise! This was his turf! His home ground! He was conveniently ignoring the fact that this was also his first time here.
