Chapter 2287: Past Body (3)

With a roar, Su Yu wrapped his palm around his young self before dragging it into his reality. The world around him started shattering.

Instantly, Su Yu's group reappeared in the river of memories. The river started shaking violently, and an illusory form of a child Su Yu appeared behind him. The child Su Yu had his eyes shut, but two powerful auras were clashing inside him. In fact, he actually felt slightly stronger than even the adult Su Yu.

Instead of focusing on his fusion with his past body, Su Yu looked at Great Zhou King and asked sternly, "Seventh Dao. What is the meaning of that? Did you really flee out of fear back then or did you deliberately let it happen?"

When Great Zhou King opened his mouth, he noticed how cold Su Yu's gaze was.

Helpless, he said, "That was the random rambling of a mysterious person..."

"Speak the truth."

Behind Su Yu, the river of memories was starting to fall apart. But he completely ignored it and said, "Refuse and you can stay here forever."

Su Yu continued staring at Great Zhou King coldly. Peak third tier? No match for Hundred Battle ad Yu? That was likely, but still, this was a terrifying fellow who had mastered seven daos.

Su Yu started walking. As he walked, he fused with his past body. The eyes of the young Su Yu snapped open, releasing a massive burst of power.

As he walked, Su Yu asked, "Do you know the identity of that figure? Why could that figure enter the Human Realm by following the Book of Time? Why was that person looking for Human Emperor?"

"I'm unsure..."

Noticing how Su Yu's face was slowly turning unsightly, Great Zhou King said, "I truly don't know. That was probably someone sealed behind the Heaven Gate. As for my guess...he probably wasn't there to act against Human Emperor. As a mere projection, he couldn't do much to someone like Human Emperor. I suspect that this was...Star (Xing)."

Great Zhou King speculated in an uncertain tone, "He might have something important to inform Human Emperor."

"Star?" Su Yu exclaimed, "Human Emperor's ancestor?"

"Probably."

"But how did you reach that conclusion?"

Su Yu did not see anything indicating that the mysterious figure could be Star.

Great Zhou King explained, "Earlier, the little Su Yu--cough, Your Majesty's younger self claimed to be Xing Yu, but the figure said that Culture (Wen) was no weaker than him. He told your younger self not to switch your ancestor easily. From that, I started suspecting that this might be Star.

"He might have something important to inform Human Emperor, or he might have other business with Human Emperor. As a projection, he wouldn't be able to harm Human Emperor. That projection wasn't stronger than the second tier, and it might not be able to last that long out here anyway. Therefore, I believe that this projection was here as a messenger, not a killer.

"As for the figure's choice to follow the Book of Time to look for Human Emperor, that's understandable. Human Emperor is the strongest of this era. If Time Sage wishes to seek help, Human Emperor will be the best option. Human Emperor is close to Culture King, and Time Sage is familiar with him. Thus, it is perfectly reasonable to assume that the Book of Time will go looking for Human Emperor."

Su Yu was unsure if Great Zhou King's deduction was correct, but he had no way to obtain more information. He only knew that he had encountered a powerful entity at six. His fusion with the Book of Time was laden with variables.

Great Zhou King and Great Xia King had both appeared near him right as he was about to receive the book. At the time, Great Xia King had shouted loudly. Su Yu guessed that Great Xia King must have sensed something. That shout was a deliberate attempt to perhaps scare the suspected intruder into revealing themself.

As for Great Zhou King, he had truly discovered the mysterious figure. But ultimately, he fled.

Su Yu continued his fusion with his past body. As his aura grew, he said, "Just what's happening here? We have yet to even solve the issue concerning Human Emperor. But now, his ancestor is entering the picture. Is it safe to assume that we have a bunch of survivors from the Creation Era?

"Are all of them behind the Heaven Gate? If that were Star, what of people like Culture, Sun, and Moon mentioned by him? Are these people still around as well?"

Su Yu frowned. This wasn't necessarily a good thing. These people were strong enough to derail his plans. Then again, he was already expecting there to be a large number of powerhouses behind the Heaven Gate. He had merely been unaware of their exact identities.

But now, he knew. These were essentially the powerhouses of the Creation Era.

Su Yu's head ached. Just what in the world was the Heaven Gate? Who was the one behind the sealing of all those entities? What business did that mysterious figure have with Human Emperor? Just how unreliable was that idiot for him to not finish his words before he was gone?

And there was also Great Zhou King...

Once again, Su Yu stared at Great Zhou King. With a helpless expression, Great Zhou King said, "Your Majesty, I'm really not hiding anything else. I did not tell you everything in the past because some knowledge won't actually be useful for you to know. Just look at Hundred Battle. He lost his will to fight after learning too much."

He was feeling very helpless.

He clarified again, "Before this, I truly believed that this incident at Nanyuan was a distraction by Hundred Battle's people. Their people had always been harboring evil designs against Human Emperor. At the time, the mysterious figure released an aura at the level of a second or third tier Master of Law. At the time, I thought it was Yu..."

Su Yu said, "Absolute nonsense! At the time, Yu was still struggling with her seal."

Su Yu merely sneered. He was not buying a word of that.

At that, Su Yu switched to voice transmission, "Human Mountain."

Great Zhou King looked like he was about to cry as he said, "Your Majesty, I'm really only a tier-three. I'm not lying. At this point, there is no reason for me to lie. You already know my greatest secret. What's the point?"

Su Yu ignored the explanation.

The truth didn't matter. Great Zhou King only needed to focus on reaching the second tier if he didn't want any trouble.

Great Zhou King had been keeping too many secrets, but Su Yu was relatively forgiving about it. However, he was still annoyed as most of Great Zhou King's paranoia was caused by Hundred Battle King.

That was the same as someone being constantly on guard against their current lover after their previous lover cheated on them. Their current lover was the one being punished for the actions of their previous lover.

Great Zhou King sank into silence, but he maintained his helpless expression. As for the others, they said nothing. All of them were deep in thought about everything they saw.

Mysterious figure, Book of Time, Great Zhou King...

And the young Su Yu. He was already an utter scumbag at six. He was shameless enough to kowtow and call someone grandpa just for survival. No wonder. Back when he first emerged from obscurity, he had been calling everyone grandpa as well. So that was how he had always been.

Great Zhou King did not want to keep talking about the same topic. Thus, he switched it to something else, "Your Majesty, you actually shared the same ancestor as Culture King..."

Su Yu snorted, "And why does that even matter? Based on what that fellow said, everyone in Nanyuan shares the same ancestor as Culture King."

What was the big deal about it? All the Zhous had Human Ancestor as their ancestor as well. But they were so many generations apart. Their bloodline had long been mixed with many other bloodlines. In fact, there was no pure human among the modern humans.

Once again, Great Zhou King was left speechless.

Before long, they were back at the entrance to the river of memories. Suddenly, Su Yu said, "Forget everything you saw today."

"Yes!"

Everyone answered unhesitantly. They understood what he was talking about. They should all forget about the matter of him kowtowing and calling someone grandpa. They could remember everything else. That was no big deal.

Su Yu pushed everything to the back of his mind. The world behind the Heaven Gate was far more dangerous than even Human Emperor's battlefield. He was still far too weak to set foot there.
