672 God of Death and Life.

“Reality Crack Disappear!” Underlord snapped his fingers and caused the strange cracks to disappear. The streets returned to normal and the buildings didn’t look any different.

He fixed his sleeves and walked away from the building to continue his walk to the headquarters.

Inside the building, Alice was hiding underneath the window while holding Luna’s mouth. After the footsteps disappeared, she removed the hand and drew a cold breath.

“What happened?” Luna looked at her with her cute face, looking surprised.

“I am… not sure.” Alice looked at herself from the window’s reflection and wondered what just happened. She remembered clearly that time had stopped and that she had saved Luna from certain death.

She remembered her heart pounding with such force that she thought her chest would explode.

Luna peered through the window and didn’t see that person anywhere. “He is gone… Why do you think he attacked us?”

“He is doing something shady, I am sure of it!” Alice felt that Underlord’s way of acting wasn’t natural. He wouldn’t just attack them out of nowhere. But, one thing was sure; he wasn’t on humanity’s side!

“We can’t let him do whatever he wants!” Luna still remembered the beating she received from him. “In any case, we need to inform the gods!”

“Underlord left us because he thought we died. What if he sees us in the streets? We can’t win against him!” Alice was the voice of reason. But, even she knew that they might have to take risks and expose Underlord.

“You are Priestess. Can’t you communicate with the gods?” Luna then asked.

“Oh!” Alice exclaimed. She completely forgot about her identity as a priestess. “Alright, I need few things to do the ceremony.”

“I will get them.” Luna stood to her feet. “What do you need?”

“Candle, matchsticks, powder of any kind, and a cross.”

Luna nodded and ran to their bedroom.

‘I have all the things I need in my interface, but unfortunately I am not a Chain Breaker.’ Alice thought, with slight frustration. As she stood up to her feet, she thought. ‘It would be so useful to just say “interface”, pick up the things you need, and use them. But, alas…’

However, as soon as she thougth that, a holographic screen appeared before her, glowing with brilliant hue!

“Ah!” Alice staggered backward and fell on the couch. She rubbed her eyes and thought she was hallucinating. However, after opening her eyes, the interface was still hovering right in front of her!

“Alice, are you alright?” Luna hurried out of the bedroom with a wand in hand. She thought that something had happened or, worse, that Underlord had come back. But she then saw Alice staring blankly into the empty air. “Ali..ce?

“I-I am Chain Breaker…” Alice said with a dumbfounded expression.

“W-What?!” Luna’s jaw dropped. “Since when?”

“Since now…” Alice tried to open the inventory, and it worked. She took all the things needed for the ceremony and placed them on the knee-length table.

“How is this possible?” Luna asked because she knew how crazy this sounded. Alice didn’t have the ingredients for Dream Potion and didn’t have any way to enter White Online from here. It was as if her chains broke out of nowhere. She didn’t even have a legacy!

After closing the inventory, Alice checked her stats nonchalantly before freezing.

[Legacy: Primordial God of Time]

[Legacy Rank: Divine]

“I-I have a legacy…” Alice covered her mouth in surprise and now understood what the strange time stopping phenomenon was. It was all her doing. She turned to Luna with a massive smile. “I have the legacy of the Primordial God of Time!”

Luna sat next to her and rubbed her shoulder gently. “If I recall correctly, that’s legacy of Chronos. When did he give that legacy to you? Do you remember meeting him?”

“N-No…” Alice shook her head. “B-But, I might have talked to him.”

“Hmm?”

“I once did the ceremony out of curiosity and happened to contact someone. I thought it was God, but some lesser god, because the way he acted was quite… crazy, haha. I didn’t know whether he was happy to talk to someone finally or excited to see me. It was a strange experience.”

“It must have been Chronos.” Luna nodded. “Some gods don’t give their legacies immediately and look at whether that person was worthy. I guess you passed the test and, because of the war, he decided to give you the legacy, and for some reason, your chains also broke.”

Alice nodded with slight excitement and then turned to the items. “A-Anyway, let’s do the ceremony. I won’t let Underlord do harm to anyone else!”

Luna nodded with a soft smile and used the matchsticks to light up the candle while Alice used the powder to draw a pentagram around the candle. She then took hold of the cross and held it close to her heart.

“Oh God, answer my calling. I have dire news. Underlord is not on our side. I repeat, he is not on our side. He tried to kill me and Luna, the legacy carrier of Hecate, and I wish you to spread the message to the Primordial God Chronos. Say it is from his successor, please.”

She then opened her eyes and said, “No one answered, but my message hopefully is heard by someone.”

Luna softly nodded and hugged her legs.

‘Oh God, answer my calling. I have dire news. Underlord is not on our side. I repeat, he is not on our side. He tried to kill me and Luna, the legacy carrier of Hecate, and I wish you to spread the message to the Primordial God Chronos. Say it is from his successor, please.’

An ethereal-sounding voice echoed across a certain man’s mind, and it sounded very familiar.

“Alice?” Isaac looked around in the charred landscape, and that certain voice, belonging to his little sister, slowly faded away. He then remembered the “message” and his face grew cold.

The God who heard the message was the newly crowned God of Death and Life, Isaac Whitelock.
