Chapter 685 Pain Of Resurrection.

This chapter is updated by NovelFree.ml

Isaac hovered above Snowstar while looking at the burning buildings with a cold expression. He couldn’t feel any life signals within two kilometers from the scene of destruction.

He slowly landed on the pavement and looked towards the fallen burning sign. The sign said “Wh*tel*ck”.

Two letters were burning, but it was clear what the sign said.

Isaac recognized the destroyed skyscraper, which was strewn across the Snowstar, as his father’s company.

“…” he lowered his gaze at the ground and it was strangely slippery. However, when he pulled his leg back, it was again coarse ground. It was strange since from meter onward, the ground was as slippery as standing on top of ice.

‘This is…’ he remembered him making the floor slippery while using Grand Priest robes back in the abandoned hospital. The feeling of the slippery ground was exactly the same.

‘Father!’ Isaac now realized where the strange feeling came. His eyes darkened as he activated his “God Eyes” and saw everything in Snowstar.

At hundred meters away, there was a man-sized hole in a two-story building’s wall with motionless man lying on the second floor.

Crack!

The ground cracked as Isaac launched forward, crossed the distance, and entered the building through the hole.

Isaac saw the ragged purple robes worn by a closed-eyed man with a dead-looking expression.

“Father!” Isaac knelt on the ground and touched Maxwell’s neck. He couldn’t feel anything. He then ripped the robes, placed his ear against the cold chest, and the heart didn’t beat.

He was dead…

Isaac’s eyes shook as he felt the extent of Maxwell’s damage. His spine was shattered with bones piercing his organs. Even if the bones didn’t pierce his organs, he would have been utterly crippled.

Isaac used his thumbs to open Maxwell’s eyes and looked directly at his dead lightless eyes. “Resurrection!”

A gentle green light entered Maxwell’s body and magical thing happened. His shattered spinal cord started being healed, as if they were glued together. At first, his spine was filled with cracks, but then it only looked like they were scars until perfectly healed.

His bones returned to their previous spots and all punctured organs healed.

Ba-dump… ba-dump…

The heart started slowly pounding, and the veins started spreading warmth around Maxwell’s body. A soft breath left his mouth, but his eyes stayed closed, like he was sleeping.

“Arth!” Isaac gritted his teeth in agonizing pain. His breathing became harder and harder, then his spine slightly cracked, causing him to cough up blood.

‘Some of his injuries transferred to me?!’ Isaac wiped the blood off his lips and struggled to stand up. ‘I am nearing the limit of my ability. The resurrection of the World of White and everyone there was too much.

‘I suppose I put too much strain on my body. Even though my body is now nigh indestructible and my blood is golden, meaning I am god now, but still resurrecting so many is mental. Because of my nigh infinite knowledge, I know quite a lot about gods.

‘If ordinary God resurrected someone, they would die, which happened once before. If god like Zeus resurrected someone, they would be injured, but still survive, but maybe five or so is his max.

‘Gaia could resurrect quite many. She is the mother of all life, after all, but no one can resurrect as many as I can.

‘The current limit is around a million or so, but resurrecting World of White was too much.’

Isaac sighed, as there was no such thing as omnipotence. Maybe there was, but he hadn’t reached him even after becoming the embodiment of death and life.

‘I feel like I am at the peak of my power, yet I feel like I am so far from omnipotence.’ Isaac looked into the sky and wondered whether there was someone with omnipotent power somewhere.

“Ugh…” Maxwell tumbled around in pain as his face was distorting. He was still recovering from the resurrection.

Isaac looked at his father before leaving the building. He didn’t plan to reveal anything to him yet. The time will come when the final battle starts, and at that time, his full power will be revealed to the world.

‘Now, who was the person who killed my father…’ Isaac’s eyes turned cold as he approached the fallen skyscraper. He effortlessly put his hand below the fallen skyscraper, lifted dozens of floors without breaking a sweat and tossed them away like they were garbage.

He hopped down on the deep hole with flames raging around as the skyscraper’s ruins filled the hole. However, he could see a burned figure at the bottom of the hole.

Isaac punched through the debris until he arrived at the burnt corpse.

The burnt horns, cracked tail, and somewhat familiar facial features made him realize who the person was.

“Bella…” Isaac gritted his teeth and grabbed her corpse by the throat. He then injected a small portion of his power into the burnt corpse, just barely enough to make her alive for ten more seconds. That alone brought some backpain to Isaac, but not too much since he didn’t fully resurrect her.

“Ah!” Bella’s eyes opened in a hurry as her moan of pain resounded through her hoarse voice. All the pain known to mankind raged havoc inside her body.

“Bella.”

She then heard a cold voice–a voice that brought primordial fear into her. She lifted her painful gaze to the white-haired man and couldn’t help but let out a surprised eek.

But then, she saw the cold eyes, like she was being stared at by someone who hated her the most.

“I have questions and you better answer.” Isaac clenched her neck tighter. “Why did you seek a roommate back in Stronglord? You definitely didn’t need money, and now that I know you are a demon, I really wanted to know why and did you plan something.”

He would have wanted to kill her immediately for killing his father, but he had a desire to know more about demons, and was his meeting with Bella really a coincidence or a trick played by fate.

“I…” Bella was squirming in agony. Even talking was painful. “Needed… to… look… human… Emperor Stronglord… could have… noticed my existence and exterminated me… meeting you… was just luck…”

‘Emperor Stronglord… how could he have found her? She looked perfectly human.’ Isaac frowned. “You will die in five seconds, so you better answer quickly. How could he find you?”

“He… is… the only New-Gen Legacy Figure… he has powers of demon slaying…” Bella uttered quietly and painfully. As she opened her cracked burnt lips one more time, her heart stopped and she died.

Isaac let go of her throat and sighed. “So, it was luck… well, I would call it unluck.”
