Right after Ed spoke, he and his companions sprung into action. Each one of them knew the danger of their current battle, and each one of them started with their entire strength. The dragon, although proud of his strength, did not dare to take it easy on them. It did not dare to underestimate them after noticing Ed's ability to change the whole world around it.
"I will pray for your safety." Emilia turned around and retreated away along with Bella. The sound of the first attack exploded behind her, yet she didn't dare to turn around. She traveled until she could no longer feel the QI of anyone. Only then did she stop to look back. It didn't take her a long time, but the battlefield was already filled with smoke and fire.
"Gah!" Gobuta grunted as he took the full brunt of the dragon's tail attack. He flew down to the ground faster than a bullet. His body bounced dozens of times before stopping, yet, before he could stand up, the dragon released its laser-like breath. The area around Gobuta turned into ashes instantly, yet the dragon didn't let up.
His breath didn't burn anything other than the ground, and the dragon could feel it. Sieg teleported in front of Gobuta and activated his barrier magic. However, cracks formed almost instantly. Sieg retreated a couple of steps and touched Gobuta with his hand. He then proceeded to teleport both of them out of harm's way.
"Nice job," Ed complimented the two of them as he and WarGreymon appeared above the dragon's head.
"Come to think of it, Shusui was used to slay a dragon originally. How fitting."
Ed used Shusui, while WarGreymon used his Dramon Killers. The two weapons that were anti-dragons showed their full capability by releasing an attack on the dragon's head. A loud boom was heard as the dragon's head was knocked down, however, Ed felt something wrong so he teleported the two of them away.
Right after escaping, a laser breath was released where the two of them were. The dragon was unharmed even after taking the attacks of Ed and WarGreymon.
"Gobuta, you alright?" Ed appeared near Gobuta who was being healed by Suika and Merry.
"Yes!" Gobuta stated and stood up as soon as his broken bones were healed. The group scattered again as a laser breath leveled the ground between them and the dragon.
"Raikou, we need to injure him somehow. We couldn't do anything to him at all, and we're the one being hurt. We can't go on like this," Ed stood next to his oldest companion and talked to him. Raikou stared at Ed for a second before he walked a couple of steps towards the dragon.
The dragon remained in the sky for the whole battle, as if asserting his superiority over them. Seemingly, Raikou was also thinking the same thing as Ed. As he started to walk towards the dragon, shadows danced around him while lighting crackled all over his body.
Raikou's Hatsu was a simple one. He transmuted the aura and fused it with his body, which enabled him to turn into the element that he chose. That was his level 1 Hatsu. His level 2 Hatsu, however, enabled him to fuse two elements at the same time. The drawback was the pain and suffering he needed to endure after undoing his ability. As well as the colossal amount of aura it needed to activate.
Without wasting any time, Raikou dove into his shadow, and appeared under the dragon. Thousands of shadow hands emerged out of the dragon's shadow. The latter felt ominous so he tried to escape the hands. But, since they were coming out of his shadow, he couldn't escape them. And since Raikou was using lightning, he was the fastest one in Ed's dimension.
"Amusing" the dragon said as he looked down and released his strongest laser breath so far. Everyone felt a twinge in their hearts as they feared for Raikou's life, but Ed remained calm.
Raikou was never the type that took rash actions. Ed believed that he would change their current situation. Especially since Ed was the weakest one among them right now. He had used his 'Berserk' skill earlier, which meant that he couldn't use it anymore. Not without wasting another one of his 'extra brains' in the process.
The dragon ceased his attack and looked down at the damage that he caused. However; he was soon surprised to see the same shadows that he tried to burn away reach him. Raikou was unharmed. In his current shadow state, not even Ed's Haki could cut through him.
The shadow hands bound the dragon's whole body and dragged him down to the ground. The dragon tried to resist, but his power was way too inferior compared to Raikou's shadow hands.
The dragon slammed hard on the ground, and as the dust rose into the sky, Raikou appeared in front of him. It was Raikou's way of telling the dragon that the difference between them was gone.
Raikou arched his back and howled into the sky. Clouds formed into the sky even though Ed didn't create them with his ability. Right in front of Raikou's mouth, black and white QI spheres merged together. The dragon felt fear for the first time since it encountered Ed's group. And, as it tried to struggle in order to escape, it felt pain from its tail area. Garu used his Ice to further bind the dragon. It was a similar tactic to when they fought the dragon in the tower.
Once Raikou finished charging his attack, he released in one ago. The black and white energy enveloped the dragon whole. It continued its release for a full minute before it stopped.
Ed appeared behind Raikou and took him away. He knew that things weren't over, and he didn't want Raikou to get injured by an unseen attack.
A loud thud was heard from the dragon's position, and as the dust cleared up, everyone noticed a change in the dragon's body. Along with a couple of broken scales, one of its horns was broken.
"That's all Raikou could do?!" Emilia, from so far away, exclaimed as she looked at the battlefield. Bella next to her couldn't see as well, but she chose not to ask any questions.
"Well, that confirms it. You're not omnipotent. That alone means that we can beat you!" Ed shouted as he started to fly towards the dragon.
