The days went by in a flash, and with the help of a few teleportation arrays, Grey and his friends got back to Red City in a very short time.
Immediately they returned, Grey headed straight for the Mayor’s manor which is currently used as the headquarters of the entire resistance in the Azure Continent.
Inside the hall.
Lucas was discussing with his wife when he suddenly raised his head and a soft smile appeared on his face, turning to his wife he said, “Grey’s back.”
Martha, who had also sensed Grey heaved a sigh of relief with a nod, before commenting, “I didn’t expect these little ones to grow this much under such a short time.”
“Each small world has golden opportunities, I’m sure one discovered by those old families would definitely be extraordinary.” Lucas did not seem to be surprised by the growth he sensed from the youths who after he finished his statement, walked through the door, entering the hall.
All four youths bowed immediately they appeared in the presence of the duo.
Martha waved her hand to raise the youths, carefully studying each of them. Her eyes trailed on Klaus’s body for a long time before finally landing on Grey who she flashed a lovely smile.
“How was your trip?” Lucas inquired.
Grey gave them a general insight of their trip, not going into too much detail since it was not really needed.
“A half God plane magical beast core?” Even someone of Lucas’s level was a little surprised by the news. One has to know how hard it was to take down a magical beast at such a level, it’s all but impossible to kill them with them leaving an intact corpse behind, much less a core.
“If either of them can produce another expert in a short time, it’ll be a blessing to the human race.” Martha commented from the side. She did not care if the two families hid such information, after all, all forces were still secretly fighting for dominance.
Lucas nodded in agreement before waving to the youths to go rest.
The youths bowed and just as Klaus was about to exit the room, Martha’s voice sounded behind him, “Come meet me after you’re done with your wife and father, the cold energy in your body is too chaotic.”
Klaus beamed when he heard this and hurriedly turned to bow to her while thanking her.
Lucas and Martha were once again left alone in the hall.
Out of curiosity, Lucas asked, “You want to train him?”
“His potential in terms of ice abilities is on par with me at the same age, if not even better. I don’t know what opportunities he found in that small world, but with a little guidance from me, he’ll break through to the Ninth stage of the Sovereign Plane in a few days.” Martha replied with a serious expression.
Lucas’s eyes widened in surprise, “Oh, I never thought there would ever be someone you’d rate higher than yourself when it comes to manipulating ice.”
“I might be proud, but it doesn’t mean I won’t acknowledge talent when I see it. Not everyone is like you and your son who are basically touted as the greatest genius in their generations with little training from top experts.” Martha scoffed when she saw her husband’s reaction.
Lucas coughed awkwardly before changing the topic. When he first met Martha, she was a proud genius who believed no one was better than her from her generation. He was the first one to defeat her hands down with little effort, and after competing a few more times, she still did not give up even after suffering losses upon losses at his hand. He knew this was something that has always irked her pride as a genius, so it’s a topic he always avoided.
….
Outside the hall.
“Looks like your benefits didn’t stop inside that small world.” Reynolds sighed with a shake of his head as he looked at Klaus.
“What can I say, even the world has no option but to favor me, hahaha!” Klaus burst out laughing in joy. He had tried to get Grey’s mother to train him for some time now, but when they arrived in Red City, it was due to the invasion of the Gnomes and they had to be sent to the battlefield. Even while they were there, Martha was in seclusion trying to break through to the Half God Plane. Now she was a Half God Plane expert, her horizons on the water element would be better, which will further make things better for himself.
Grey and Alice rolled their eyes when they heard Klaus’s bragging, while Reynolds felt like punching him in the face. Nevertheless, the group left the main hall area, before each heading to catch up with those they needed to catch up with.
Grey only had Eisendrache and his adopted little sister who was with the dragon to catch up to. Klaus on the other hand is married, and there was also his father who should be at True Dawn with Chris.
The group said their short goodbyes before they all went their separate ways to digest the benefits from their trip.
Grey gave both Eisendrache and his little sister the benefits he kept for them from the secret world before leaving them and secluding himself in his room. Sitting in a crossed leg position, he took a look at his fist, feeling the energy flowing through his body. He was now a Ninth stage Sovereign, just one step away from reaching the very peak of the world.
“Even with all this, it’s still not enough.” He muttered under his breath. This should have been something that was worth celebrating, but due to the invasion of the Gnomes, he did not feel comfortable or happy with the breakthrough, rather, he was thinking of when he could make the next breakthrough.
The bunny leader and Void appeared on his side, the bunny leader taking a glance at him before saying, “There’s no point making it feel like there’s no hope for you humans. Even the magical beasts are fighting with your kind against the threat of the Gnomes. It has already been a few years, and you humans are still holding out, which goes to show that they can’t defeat you guys in a short time. You have all the time in the world to change everything.”
“I dare not say I can change everything, I just want to keep my family and friends alive.” Grey shook his head before releasing his grip. There was nothing rushing would give him, he had only gotten to this level with diligence and persistence, so he would continue in that manner.
Void looked at Grey, asking, “Do we have to stay in secluded cultivation for a long time?”
“There’s no time for that. I believe you also saw the ruins we saw on the way here. Even though this stronghold looks like it’s doing well, millions of people are dying every single day, we have to go out and help as many as we can. With more people, we have a better chance of fighting against the Gnomes.” Grey replied.
This was the response Void wanted as he had been bored sleeping inside Grey’s spatial storage. He did not get much of a chance to explore that small world as much as he’d like due to the group always having to stay somewhere to cultivate or heal their wounds.
The bunny leader was not one to complain, but even he was a little bored and would not mind going outside to cause a few chaos, especially with his new recruits. With the help of Grey and his friends, he managed to obtain two Peak Sovereign Plane bunnies, along with over fifteen Ninth stage Sovereign bunnies. This was a number that might look insignificant when you take into the fact that armies consisted of hundreds of Sovereigns.
Nonetheless, a single Peak Sovereign can change the tide of a battle among Peak Sovereigns, especially given the element of surprise, much less two. Then there was also the fact that he still others in the Eighth stage and below. The bunny leader has always enjoyed bullying others with numbers, on the first few occasions he encountered Grey, he did exactly this to the latter.
Grey focused on circulating his essence while practicing. Over the past few months in the small world, he had not had enough time to comprehend the wood element, hence now that he was out, he started to do just that.
