In an open field, a portal could be seen with people with a few youths walking out of it.
A handsome young man walked out with a confident smirk on his face as he took in a deep breath, not caring for those around he said, “Finally, we’re out of that place.”
A beautiful young lady stepped out of the portal beside the young man before nudging him, “Why are you acting like you hated the place, Klaus? You got so many benefits from it.”
A sheepish smile appeared on Klaus’s face as he said, “It doesn’t matter what benefits it gave, the fact that I have to encounter Peak Sovereigns almost every single day is not something I want again.”
The young lady by his side, Alice, nodded in response to his words.
Grey and Reynolds were the last to come out of the small world’s portal. When they saw the people outside, they did not try to walk over to any of them, rather, they moved to a secluded place there. As they spoke, a familiar figure walked over to them.
“Grey.” Jonas nodded to the others as he called out to Grey.
“Jonas, you’re still here?” Grey was surprised Jonas had not left yet. Although after getting separated they only met once inside the small world, that was two months ago, and at the time, Jonas told him he would be leaving the small world soon since he had gotten what he wanted. In the short four months they had stayed at the time, Jonas had broken through to the Eighth stage of the Sovereign Plane, just like Grey’s friends, so seeing him here was a little surprising.
“I wanted to leave, but as you know, I was invited here by Arthur, and after finding out I sort of know you, he asked if I could invite you over.” Jonas did not beat around the bush and went straight to the point.
Grey turned his head in the direction of Arthur, only to realize the latter was staring in their direction. It was evident he wanted to know if Grey would come speak to him.
It only took a few seconds for Grey to make up his mind. He might have been Arthur’s opposition while they were fighting for the Half God Plane beast core, but now that they were back to their world, they were all allies that needed to come together to fight back against the Gnomes. With this in mind, Grey followed Jonas to meet up with Arthur.
The duo did not need any introduction since they both knew each other already. Like Arthur, Grey was from a rather powerful family, so he did not need to show any reservations when speaking with the latter. They had a calm conversation before Grey went back to his group.
Silvan came over, and after darting Grey a questionary glance with the latter acted like he did not see, Silvan asked, “Since we came together, will you guys return with us to my family’s manor, or do you plan to leave by yourselves?”
“We’ll head out alone. I don’t see the need for us to return to your manor since we will also be leaving immediately we get there.” Grey replied.
Silvan already expected this, nodding he said, “Since that’s the case, I’ll not hold you here any longer. Thank you for assisting my family secure the beast core.” After a pause he added, “Also, I know you can’t keep this from your father, but it’ll be best if fewer people know of it, so as not to alert the Gnomes.”
Grey and the others nodded, with Klaus making the motion of zipping his lips.
As the group were about to leave, the old lady from Silvan’s family who escorted them to this place cautioned them, “Remember to stay out of trouble, you can never tell what evil plans others have.”
While saying the last sentence, she turned her gaze to the elderly man from Arthur’s family.
Grey and the others caught on to what she was implying. It was normal for those from Arthur’s family to bear a grudge against Grey, especially given the fact that he was the one who not only stole the beast core, but he was also able to throw off the pursuit of Arthur and the Peak Sovereign beastpeople, allowing the core to land at the hands of Silvan.
Even though he knew they might bear a grudge against him, Grey was not the least bit worried. He was confident those from Arthur’s family dared not touch him. Besides, there were currently no Half God Plane experts present, against a Peak Sovereign, he was confident he could at least escape with his life.
“We should go. I wonder how Dad and the others are holding up.” Grey muttered as his mind drifted to the ongoing war.
“Given your parents’ strength, I’m certain they are fine.” Alice reassured.
Grey nodded before leading the group away from the area, leaving only Arthur’s group. A few kilometers away, they stopped, rushing into a well-hidden natural cave.
Grey might not be worried about being attacked, but he did not want to endanger the lives of his friends as well, so he decided to make a teleportation array here that would take them away from this place.
Some time later, he had completed the array formation, and after ensuring it can only be activated with his special talisman, he activated the array and all four were covered by a blinding bright light, disappearing along with the light, leaving only an empty cave behind.
Three hours later.
In the hidden cave, three figures could be seen. One of them was miniature, while the others had the height of regular humans, only they were emaciated.
“He was here not too long ago.” One of the thin men said.
“Damn it. We missed him again.” The other man cursed in annoyance.
The miniature figure was unsurprisingly a Gnome. The Gnome squinted his eyes and touched the ground with his rather long fingers, dragging his fingers along the lines of the teleportation array, “I heard he’s experienced in the art of teleportation arrays, seems like it’s true.”
