The golden palm rained down on the Grand Elder with no mercy. Bang after bang resounded in the air as each palm struck down. Exactly fifty-five dark-golden palms rained the Grand Elder down. A cloud of dust rose as the floating island was shaken under the barrage of Heaven Shattering Palm.

Tang Shaoyang remained on his spot, still on guard. He hadn’t received the killing notification, meaning his opponent was still alive.

Sure enough, as the dust settled, a figure was revealed. The Grand Elder was still standing, his fire remaining but flickering. It looked like it would die out anytime soon.

His robe was tattered, exposing part of his body, and he no longer exuded the same aura as before. It was obvious that the attack took the most out of the Grand Elder. His body wobbled and was about to fall to the side, but he managed to put on strength. He ended up falling on his knee instead of lying on the ground.

His breathing ragged, trying to get as much air as he could. He did his best to circulate his energy, trying to suppress his internal injuries. His phoenix fire was healing his body as well, but it was slow.

The Grand Elder was confused. The man admitted he was an outsider, but the attack was a technique of the cultivator. It was a martial art technique, not a skill that outsiders often used. But he had never heard of someone like this man before.

It was about to end the fight and came for the main dish. He appeared in front of the Grand Elder with his fist covered in his internal energy. It was just a normal punch imbued with his internal energy. A clean strike to the head should do the job.

Tang Shaoyang’s figure faded, turning into an ethereal form. The grip could not hold him as the blazing fist hit past his stomach. He materialized behind the black-cloaked figure who stopped his fist, but to his surprise, the figure reacted to him.

The cloaked figure turned around and sent a backside kick. That caught him off guard and hit him, sending him flying backward. The kick packed a punch, but nothing serious enough to cause an injury.

That was when he got a clear look at who interfered. The figure had the same cloak as the Grand Elder, and he felt a stronger aura from this one, stronger than the Grand Elder. He quickly cast Detection and was surprised by the information that came to him.

He remembered the unique color of this phoenix as he quickly linked the phoenix to that incident. He furrowed his brow because he remembered the phoenix should have been dead.

While the phoenix managed to escape from them, his brother, the current patriarch, struck a killing blow with a specialized technique to kill a phoenix. It was a technique that prevented the phoenix from going through rebirth.

His brother even sent an elite team to hunt it down. While the elite team didn’t return, they should be enough to ensure the death of the phoenix. It surprised him that the phoenix was still alive.
