Chapter 2279: The Infamous Event

Tang Shaoyang was interested in visiting the Dragon Realm, but before going, he needed to do his research. The talk would revolve around the event called the God Realm Champion.

That sounded like a tournament event to look for the Champion of the God Realm. The duel between powerhouses in the God Realm to seek the champion among them. That was his impression about the event, but he was wrong.

Being the head of the Feng Clan’s intelligence division, Feng Zhan knew more about this God Realm Champion than anyone in the God Realm. Or maybe not, Khaya and the other Snow Elves should know about the event as well.

Anyway, Feng Zhan would present the information to him and all the head divisions. It turned into an official meeting for the Tang Empire. He explained to everyone about the event held every hundred years in the God Realm. It was the biggest event in the God Realm, and Tang Shaoyang had never heard about it until now.

Tang Shaoyang was wrong about the event being a tournament. It was a battle royal format with no limit on participation. Anyone could join as long as they were in the God Realm.

There was no restriction; anyone could join. Even an Epic Rank could join, but again, it would be stupid for an Epic Rank to join an event dominated by the God Rank. It was to be expected for all participants to be in the God Rank.

Feng Zhan explained how the event went. The battle royal would be held in a pocket dimension made by the System. There was not just one, but more than ten pocket dimensions. It depended on the number of participants. The last God Realm Champion was held in seventeen pocket dimensions.

This pocket dimension was similar to one floor in the Dimensional Tower. It could be bigger or smaller, but the concept was similar to the floor in the Dimensional Tower.

It was a similar concept because it also had monsters and beasts, those equal to God Rank or even stronger. Each pocket dimension also had its own resources that they could harvest. The most common one was the ore vein and the garden of herbs.

The monster and the beasts were supposed to be their target. But of course, eliminating your competition was more efficient to secure the win. It was a bloodbath event.

Oftentimes, the powerhouse in the God Realm sent their younger generation to join the event despite it being an event that meant to kill each other. They used the event to temper their younger generation.

Tang Shaoyang got a general understanding of the event, but there was something missing. Something that could tempt an individual of the Executive Administrator caliber. He didn’t believe that the resources in the pocket dimension were enough to tempt an Executive Administrator.

"So... what makes the event attractive for an Executive Administrator?" Tang Shaoyang could not hold back his curiosity and asked.

That was the important part because he needed to decide whether he should join the event or not. If it were just the resources in the pocket dimension, then he had better things to do than waste his time there.

"I am about to enter that part, Your Majesty. But first, I need to explain the mechanics of the event on how you get the reward."

"As I said before, the event is supposed to hunt the monsters and beasts. You will be rewarded one credit for each kill. This credit is more important than the resources themselves."

"There’s a place called a Safe Zone where killing is prohibited, and there’s a shop where you can spend your credit. You can buy a new class, equipment, blueprints, potion recipe, or you can even buy an attribute as long as you have enough credit."

Tang Shaoyang started to understand why the event was quite tempting even for the Executive Administrator. Even the Executive Administrator could not buy attributes. There was no such privilege. But he felt like there was not enough to tempt the Executive Administrator; there should be more than this.

"That’s not the only way to use your credit. You can upgrade your Class, Talent, and even Bloodline with a certain amount of credit."

Tang Shaoyang finally understood why the event was the most popular event in the God Realm. Upgrading the Class, Talent, and Bloodline could only happen after the ranked-up trial. Once they missed the chance, there were no other alternatives until this event.

"It’s just like how the Angel race awakened their Divine Energy. The rumor has it that their progenitor obtained the Divine Energy through the awakening of the God Merchant. The rumor has it that’s how Death Energy was born, or maybe other types of energies."

"This opportunity is what makes people join the event. On top, if you top the score in the pocket dimension you spawn, you will be rewarded the pocket dimension itself. I know you might not have the same interest in the pocket dimension, but don’t underestimate it, Your Majesty."

"First, the pocket dimension will give you an extremely rare resource. You might obtain an Adamantium mine, Divinitium mine, or even Abyss mine. That’s just a few examples; there are rarer ores or herbs you can think of."

"Second, the resources in the pocket dimension are inexhaustible. While there’s a limit of how much you can extract, it will be regenerated after a cycle. You will never run out of resources.

"Third, the pocket dimension would be bound directly to you, to your soul. So no one could invade the pocket dimension because you are the only one who can give access to the pocket dimension. You don’t need to worry about the security of your pocket dimension."

"While many participated for the unique opportunity from the God Merchant, not a few participated to obtain the pocket dimension. If you find it a hassle, you can sell it. People will flock to you to buy it."

Tang Shaoyang finally understood why the event became the biggest event in the God Realm. And he finally understood why even the Executive Administrator joined the God Realm Champion.

"That’s the reward, but now I need to inform you all about the danger of the event. I mentioned participants could get credit from killing the beast and monster, but that’s not the only thing you can kill to gain credit. You can get credit from killing the other participants as well."

"Each participant is worth the same as the beast and monster, one credit per participant. However, you will get the credit for the person you killed. That’s why most participants would actively seek and kill other participants for easy credit. That’s the danger of the event. Tang Shaoyang chuckled when he heard the last part because Feng Zhan had earlier mentioned that the event didn’t encourage them to kill each other. In reality, the event was designed so they would kill each other.

"So yeah, most factions would send a few big groups so they could work together to dominate that one pocket dimension. The top one thousand participants with the most points will advance to the second phase, to a bigger and more dangerous pocket dimension."

"The point is the total amount of credit you obtained. So even if you spend your credit, the point will remain the same, and you will carry the point to the second phase."

"Of course, the shop in the safe zone will offer you a better quality of classes, equipment, and the best of everything. The value of monsters and beasts also increases, but they are getting more dangerous as well. The monster and beast are worth ten credits. This is where things get more dangerous. If you kill other participants in the second phase, you will be rewarded based on how many points they have, and yes, in credit."

"Yeah, at this point, most participants will just ignore the beast and monster. They will hunt the other participants, the easiest way to obtain credit."
