Chapter 030: A Battle, A Sacrifice

" Why leave so soon? I say! stay for a tea " a sinical voice suddenly said.

Everyone's expression changed, a chill ran through Aldrich's body, with all his might he turned himself around towards where the voice came from, however all he saw was a silver light passing by and BAM!

A terrifying shockwave rattled the surroundings, the whole underground space shock, neither parties held back in their attack,

Earlier after the fight where Thomas summoned his silver-armoured spirit he didn't send it back, rather it disappeared somewhere, turned out it was hiding around in case something like this situation happened.

In a matter of seconds, the silver spirit and the other party separated but not before exchanging multiple blows, both of them were had scratched here and there but there was no real injuries.

In the meantime, Thomas stood facing another person, both had a cold expression in their faces, but the difference was that the person Thomas was facing had a disdainful sneer as well, when looking at the two men, they looked rather younger than expected for someone with that level of power.

Wearing red cloak with unique silver emblems on their shoulder, the space around the two men trembled, the scene was similar to when you look at the space above a fire as it twist slightly from the heat ,even if it was faint that alone was enough to symbolize their immense power,

At this point Aldrich suddenly noticed the same phenomena of space twisting happening around Thomas as well and it was slightly more intense than theirs.

pleasantly surprised Aldrich thought to himself " Wha-! its twisting, doesn't that mean Thomas is actually above the Great Origin realm!, When did he breakthrough?! " however soon his surprise was replaced with anxiousness again, his gaze darted left and right, looking at his surroundings in hope of finding something that they could use for their advantage.

Currently they were overwhelmed on all sides, numbers, fighting power and what ever else they could think off, The silver spirit was displaying prowess equalling a 1st or 2nd Order of the next realm, which definitely was by using a forbidden technique that burned oneself as a fuel for such an explosive burst!

Suddenly a few tens of meters from the ground, appeared two shadows appeared in the air, accompanies by a flash of light came the sound of swords clashing then the two figures took few steps back, Thomas took three steps while the man facing him took more than ten!

" Sir Thomas to think that you are at the Origin Transformation stage!, you should be around 30% done transforming it...." as the man spoke he suddenly coughed a mouthful of blood,

" Truly amazing! if this was back when we were the rulers of this world you would be qualified to receive an imperial title. " the man said

However, uninterested Thomas replied coldly, " Tell your fellow rats to come all at once, this seat never feared a battle. ", the arrogance, the strong aura he exuded and the unmatched demeanour he displayed caught everyone's attention, even the ones hiding in the dark, for that moment everyone had to give that man some respect, standing there and saying he would fight the whole army was truly something unbelievable.

Unbeknown to others Thomas was frantically sending voice transmission to the others on what to do, On the ground, Charlotte grabbed Aldrich's hand and stealthy pulled him towards the portal.

It didn't take long for Aldrich to understand what was going to happen, surely he wasn't willing to escape on his own, just as he wanted to open his mouth.....

Three figures appeared, and to everyone's despair they were all at the Origin Transformation stage, meaning now their group has to go against five cultivators above the great Origin realm instead of just two.

" Don't waste time, they are trying to escape ", remarked one of the figures!.

" Damn it! " said Charlotte as she grabbed Aldrich from his collar, the poor lad's eye opened wide, as a bad feeling filled his heart, followed by it was an irresistible power that restricted all his powers, the next moment a person was hurling like a meteor towards the portal of the travel formation,

Just before he passed through the portal, Aldrich saw two of the three new figures attacking Charlotte who was emitting an aura no less than that of Thomas's while the third was swiftly approaching him!

" Where do you think you are going? " soft voice came from behind the figure heading towards the portal, the next moment blood splattered, his arm flew off, he had barely survived that attack,

The one who attacked him was precisely Charlotte, however she looked a much different than normal, her brown hair turned into a beautiful ink black, hazel coloured eyes turned green, patterns of veins spread through her skin, in her hand was a fine made dagger from a spirit jade.

With her goosebumps-inducing speed and unpredictable attacks, Charlotte was able to hold on the three enemies, even though she was overexerting herself.

Of her three enemies, two were at the same level as her while the third was more than slightly stronger, although they generally looked all the same, a notable difference would be that with the silver emblem he was wearing had the letter 'V' in golden colour, unlike the others who's emblems were completely in silver.

"AGHHHHHHHH" following a scream of pain, both Thomas's and Charlotte expression changed, immediately they spared some of their attention to the other members off the team, earlier sending the young lord away was their priority and then they immediately engaged in battle and couldn't spare any attention to the others.

Thomas was fighting Two of the generals and their subordinates who joined later on his own, while silver-armoured spirit was holding the majority of the army that was just arriving on its own, meanwhile Charlotte was fighting with the three remaining of the five generals.

Anger soared when both Thomas and Charlotte's eyes fell on were everyone stood earlier, there lay four dead bodies, clearly they were overwhelmed by the numbers and crushed completely,

SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSIISHH!

Distracted!, Charlotte received an attack, fortunately she manged to move at the last moment and prevent a vital injury, unfortunately the wound wasn't something she could ignore until the end of the battle, other than the sever pain, the blood-loss was also decreasing her ability to fight.

Having noticed Charlotte getting injured Thomas's expression turned grim, he wanted to help but he was being held back by the two generals in front of him,

Suddenly Thomas shouted anxiously " Watch Out! ",

Charlotte's speed was decreasing and her awareness followed the same, however Thomas's shout served like a waking call that for a moment served as a spark the reinvigorate her, just to see the strongest of her three opponents, passing by her in a speed he didn't show before and going through the portal.

Charlotte's face turned as pale as paper, as her body shivered in fear, however at that moment Thomas's shout resounded in her ears,

" Don't stay like that, you have to stop him, I will deal with the others!. " as he shouted his aura suddenly disappeared then silvery flames sprung from Thomas's body, on its wake the space twisted to the point it might just break in the next moment!

With a wave of his hand, a silver ball of fire flew from Thomas to Charlotte in such a high speed space twisted around it, the silver flame entered Charlotte's body followed by it the bleeding wound stopped bleeding and a hint of healthy rosey colour returned to her bale face.

" I have ignited my Spirit Origin, it won't take long before I fall, i used my Origin to heal you as much as i can but that all i could do!, my summoned spirit would meet its end not long after, you have to stop that person from hurting the young lord! ".
