Chapter 1571 The Strong One

"Your Highness, it seems you will not be returning to the clan with us."

Endi guided Valerian aside and spoke to him in a gentle voice. Meanwhile, Zagho knelt beside Adam, wrapping bandages around his wounds and carefully applying medicine to the worst of them.

Valerian lowered his head, his eyes tearing up. "I'm sorry, Lord Endi, but..."

He turned toward Adam and continued, "I can't leave my brother. He was the first person I saw when I was born. We were both orphans, and all we had was each other. Well... I thought I was an orphan, but I am happy to know that I have a family."

Endi's gaze softened. He hesitated for a bit, then stretched out his hand and gently patted the young prince's furry head.

"Adam is an exceptional Magus," he said. "I believe he will accomplish great things."

He paused briefly.

"But he is also driven by immense ambition. He seeks the very peak of magic, a goal so grand that most would not even dare to imagine it."

"Myu." Valerian nodded. "And it is my dream to go on adventures with him!"

"For that, you will need to be strong" Endi said with a smile. "Just to walk alongside someone like Adam requires great strength and courage."

"I will be strong!" Valerian clenched his paws, a determined look on his face. "I am a mighty dragon!"

"Indeed, Your Highness." Endi smiled. "You're a mighty dragon of the Somnia Clan."

"Myu!" Valerian jumped in joy.

He then asked, "Lord Endi... can you tell me more about my family?"

"Of course, Your Highness." Endi was happy to.

"Your mother is one of the Elders of our clan. Her strength is immeasurable. She stands beyond even the legendary Emperor Rank!"

"Emperor Rank?" Valerian tilted his head innocently. "Is she very powerful then?"

Endi gave a soft chuckle. "Yes. She is very, very powerful."

"I knew it!" Valerian clapped. "My mother has to be mighty! Just like me!"

He paused for a moment, then eagerly asked. "And what about my siblings? Are they also as powerful as my mother?"

Endi smiled awkwardly.

"They are powerful and hold esteemed positions in our clan, but they're not as strong as the Elder. Very few in the clan are," he said. "The eldest among your

siblings, Princess Venia, is the strongest."

"Venia..." Valerian murmured, his topaz eyes shining with wonder. "Our names start with the same letter!"

"Adam has named you well. Endi smiled. "It means... the strong one."

"Yes, I am indeed strong!" Valerian nodded excitedly.

Endi fondly glanced at the young dragon. He truly believed that Valerian was a worthy name for a prince of the Somnia Clan.

Dragons went through their naming ceremony after they hatched from their eggs. It was a special occasion and carried deep meaning. Valerian couldn't go through that ceremony because he had been separated from the clan.

Endi believed that the Elder would also be satisfied with the name Adam gave to her youngest.

But he didn't know how she would react after learning that he failed to bring Valerian back to the clan. But the one Endi feared even more than the Elder was Princess Venia.

I hope she understands, he thought bitterly.

He then retrieved an amethyst amulet from his storage artifact and gifted it to Valerian.

"Please accept this, Your Highness. It was forged by the Artificers of our clan, and you shouldn't have any problems activating it according to the laws of your world."

"What does this do?" Valerian glanced at the purple gem with curiosity.

"It will protect you from all kinds of harm," Vendi said.

There was another function of the amulet, and that was to track Valerian's whereabouts, no matter where he was in the material or spirit world.

"Thank you, Lord Endi!" Valerian jumped into the dragon's embrace.

Endi was momentarily startled, but then he gently patted Valerian. "You're most welcome, My Prince."

A moment later, he retrieved another item - a book.

"This contains the history of the Somnia Clan," he said. "I'm sure you will love to

read it."

"I will! I know I will!" Valerian beamed.

"The amulet also functions as a storage artifact. You can keep your valuables inside. It has ample space. I've also left a few additional gifts for you within it." Valerian was overwhelmed by the idea of receiving so many gifts. "I'm so happy! Thank you, Lord Endi!"

"My Lord, we are prepared to leave." One of the dragons stepped forward and respectfully said.

Endi nodded at him, his expression no longer soft and gentle like the one he displayed to Prince Valerian.

"Gather everyone outside," he commanded.

"Yes, my lord."

Endi then turned to Valerian and smiled faintly. "This is where we part ways,

Your Highness."

"Mm!" Valerian felt a bittersweet feeling bubbling in his heart.

Endi rose to his feet and added, "The next time we meet, it will be in the

Greater Universe."

Several minutes later, Valerian stood at the entrance of the dilapidated citadel.

Above him, a dozen colossal gray dragons unfurled their wings. The air trembled under the force of each powerful beat. Dust and loose stones were swept aside as they rose into the sky.

The space above them began to distort. One by one, the dragons flew into the warped rift, their massive bodies fading as they disappeared into the depths of

the spirit world.

Within moments, the multi-colored sky was empty again.

Only the echo of their wingbeats lingered.

Valerian's topaz eyes gleamed with longing, and he murmured softly, "One

day..."

Coral Island, Galestine Ocean.

The runic formation carved into the ground began to glow, lighting up with

sharp blue lines. Then the space above it twisted. With a sharp, tearing sound, an arched gate manifested above the formation.

Two figures stumbled out of the portal. The rift flickered violently for a brief

moment, then snapped shut.

Adam lay on the ground weakly, wrapped in bandages.

"Val..." he spoke hoarsely. "Quickly, go... ask Lord Tebu... how much time... has

passed..."

"Myu!"

Valerian bolted through the coral landscape, and within minutes, he appeared at the far end of the island. He climbed the ancient turtle's head, screaming,

"Lord Tebu! Lord Tebu!"

The colossal turtle's ancient eyes flashed with confusion. "Little Valerian?"

"Lord Tebu!" the little guy called out anxiously. "How much time has passed?!"

"What... do you mean?" Tebu grew even more puzzled.

"How long has passed since we left?" Valerian presse.

Tebu paused for several long moments, still confused. His following words

caused Valerian to be deeply stunned.

"You left... just now."
