After Nylian was informed about the next stages of Operation Constantine, he was... stunned, to say the least."Goodness arcana," the elven Headmaster exclaimed softly as he took a sip of sake.
Operation Constantine was not a plan born overnight.
It was a grand scheme that had been slowly set into motion nearly half a century ago, built piece by piece through careful oversight and sacrifice.
To watch its pieces finally begin falling into place as time marched forward felt almost surreal.
What had once been nothing but a desperate plan hatched in this very chamber had now grown into something vast, something capable of shaping the fate of the world.
And at the very center of it all stood the man whose name the operation bore... Adam Constantine.
Nylian's lips curled into a grateful smile as he said softly, "The Empire is fortunate to have you, Adam."
Lucian silently nodded, a faint smile of acknowledgment on his face.
Adam shook his head and said with a smile. "It is my duty, Headmaster."
He paused for a moment before adding, "Until I'm certain that the threat of the Cult has been completely eradicated, I will not leave this world."
The room slipped into silence.
Lucian suddenly asked, "How long till the next planetary alignment?"
Nylian answered after a moment of deliberation. "It should be a little more than fifty years, Your Majesty."
Lucian hummed. "We have enough time then."
Adam gave the two a strange look.
"Uhm... we don't have to wait that long, you know?"
Lucian frowned. "What're you trying to say?"
Adam shot a puzzled look at the Emperor. He noticed that the Headmaster was also looking at him with a frown.
"Wait..." he awkwardly said, "did I not talk to you about what happened inside the Soaring River Secret Plane?"
He stroked his chin in confusion. "Huh. Come to think of it... I might not have."
The Headmaster and the Emperor exchanged puzzled glances.
"Just say it," Lucian demanded.
Adam shrugged nonchalantly as he poured sake into everyone's cups.
"We can leave before the next planetary alignment," he casually dropped a conversational bomb.
"Inside the Great Vault of the secret plane, I found mana crytals... uh, a type of fuel source that can activate the teleportation portal on Luna."
Lucian and Nylian found thier eyes slowly turning wide.
Adam casually added, "Oh, by the way, I've also become the new owner of the secret plane."
The corner of Lucian's lips couldn't help but twitch. "And you didn't think to mention this while we were in Constantine?"
"Wait a minute!" Nylian was flabbergasted. "What's Constantine? No, more importantly... how are you the owner of the Soaring River Secret Plane?!"
Adam awkwardly glanced at his seniors.
"Ah, apologies." He scratched his chin. "So much has happened in such a short time, I forgot to tell you two about it."
He went on to explain to Nylian about the city of Constantine, as well as the great ash tree growing within its lands. After that, he told them about the mana crystals he had discovered in the secret plane, as well as how he had come to claim ownership of it.
Adam cleared all thier queries, and explained everything in detail for the next half an hour. By the end of it all, both Nylian and Lucian turned speechless.
A long time later, Nylian suddenly frowned as he thought of something. And he couldn't help but blurt out. "Wait a minute!"
His eyes squinted, and he asked, "If you're now the new owner of the secret plane, then what of all the rewards and treasures inside it?"
"Headmaster... do you think so little of me?" Adam was dumbfounded.
"Of course!" Nylian didn't hesitate to answer.
Adam resisted the urge to roll his eyes.
"...Don't worry, I've sworn an oath to the previous owner of the secret plane. The treasures within the secret plane are there for the young Magi of Tron. I'm
not going to put a hand on them."
Nylian breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness!"
The corner of Adam's lips twitched.
Lucian, on the other hand, had his mind on something else.
"So you're saying we can leave Tron anytime we want?" His golden eyes gleamed in the dim chamber.
"Yes, your grace." Adam nodded with a smile. "There's enough fuel to sustain two large-scale teleportations. And with the planetary alignment on the horizon, the Mana Core Magi of Tron will have three chances to leave this world in the foreseeable future."
Both Nylian and Lucian found their hearts racing.
For every Magus on Tron, leaving this world and venturing into the Greater Universe was the ultimate dream. It was the final step of their arcane path, the moment when a Magus could transcend the limits of their world and step into
the vast cosmos beyond.
But such an opportunity was incredibly rare.
The planetary alignment that made the long-scale teleportation possible occurred only once in thousands of years. Generations of Magi had lived and
died for that single moment.
And now, they had learned that there would be three chances.
The realization filled them with a deep, almost overwhelming elation.
"This Mathias the Free..." Lucian spoke after a long time. "He left behind such a
gift for the future generations? I... I can't believe it."
Adam's lips curled into a genuine smile. "He cared deeply for Tron and the
future Magi who would one day be born on this planet. He wanted to leave them a path to pursue the higher arcane arts, just as he once had. He was
truly... a splendid Magus."
Nylian and Lucian fell silent.
They felt a deep sense of respect for Magus Mathias. He had sacrificed greatly
to ensure that the future Magi of Tron would not be trapped on this world
forever.
In that moment, both men could not help but feel a quiet admiration for the great hero who had thought so far ahead for the generations that would come
after him.
"Anyway," Adam gently changed the subject.
"We can worry about what to do with the mana crystals after the war is won."
He glanced at Nylian and Lucian, his lips curling into a smirk.
"I shall begin my war campaign now."
Adam rose to his feet and turned to Nylian. He placed a hand on his chest and
humbly requested:
"Headmaster, with your permission, I'd like to lead the Black Legion across the Galestine and wage war."
