Chapter 1711 Aerial Battlefield

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

In the sky above the Summer Sea, black clouds gathered and roared.

Lightning danced across the black and blue canvas, spreading outward like the branches of a tree. Three shadows prowled among the clouds, facing the one who radiated the element of lightning.

Tedric had turned out to be quite the strategic fighter. And Edward was growing quite frustrated at the fact.

Every time the blue-eyed youth was about to obliterate either of the two undead knights, Tedric would swoop in and save them. And whenever he was about to kill the cultist, his knights would arrive just in the nick of time to save him.

Besides, Edward was having some difficulty fighting in the air. He had only just recently advanced to the Mana Core Rank. For all his life, he had always fought on land. Naturally, it was where he was most comfortable.

However, fighting in the air was a different game altogether. The most glaring difference was the lack of purchase in midair. That was why the fighting styles on land and in the air differed so vastly.

Yet, the Storm King had still succeeded in holding down all three of his

enemies, preventing them from joining their allies. Every time Tedric or one of his knights tried to sneak past him, he would catch up to them in the blink of an eye. He was fast. Very much so.

Hovering amidst thunder clouds, his white cape billowed violently. He gazed at his enemies, who levitated over a dozen meters away from him. And they did not look good.

Tedric was injured in several places. A deep gash marked the side of his

forehead, and blood dyed half of his face. His robes were tattered and singed, and his breath was uneven. Beside him, one knight stood guard, while the other was regenerating from the waist up.

"You want to take this to the ground?" Edward asked with a condescending smirk. "I promise I'll make it quick and easy!"

Tedric's expression turned dark and uneasy. This was supposed to be a relatively easy mission. When they were dispatched, he felt it unnecessary to have four Mana Core Magi. He believed it was too much. But now he couldn't help but feel that it was not enough.

Moreover, the blue-eyed youth before him hadn't even broken a sweat, while he was panting like an old man with one foot already in the grave. If it weren't for the battle experiences that he had honed for all his life, he might have already lost.

His eyes narrowed, and he changed his battle plan. He'd only need to hold this youth down until the city fell. With that in mind, he sent a mental command to his undead knights. And then, their battle began again.

Elsewhere in the sky above Amberfall.

Balthazar was faring much better. Fire was the natural enemy of death and cold. Moreover, his strange black flames were stronger than regular flames generated from fire magic.

As a result, although his opponent, Diggory, wasn't that injured from the battle, the same couldn't be said about the undead knight. The undead abomination seemed to be avoiding Balthazar's fire magic. Because of this, it wasn't able to put as much pressure on him.

If things continued the way they were, it wouldn't be long before he completely dealt with the undead knight and then defeated the cutlist Diggory.

But in a war of such a scale, there were constant variables, and anything could happen at any moment. So Balthazar fought with a sense of urgency and went all-out from the beginning of his battle.

Several miles away from their aerial battlefield, Magus Bunosilo fought against the cultist Dorset. They exchanged several moves up close and cast spells in rapid succession. However, judging from their battle, it looked like it was a solid stalemate.

Their battle looked the most flashy, yet at the same time, it appeared lackluster. As always, every time either of them cast a powerful spell, the other person would simply defend with ease. Hence, their fight appeared so contradictory.

However, this was how a battle between Mana Core Magi usually went. Unless the difference in their strength was humongous, their battle would be drawn out with no clear winner in sight.

It was unknown how long their battle would take. But if it was any consolation, Magus Bunosilo did quite well in holding his own against the enemy and preventing him from interfering in the other battlefields.

The strangest battlefield of them all was undoubtedly Virion and Anna's.

"Never knew these monsters to have intellect," the crimson-haired princess said with an icy look on her face.

"It's probably their summoners who gave them the directive," Virion said with a sigh.

Out of all the undead knights partaking in the battle, the three battling Anna and Virion were the most injured. In fact, all three of these monsters were

unable to regenerate their wounds.

These wounds were naturally dealt by Anna.

The Immortal Flame could burn through lies, curses, and corruption. As a healing force, it could cauterize wounds, restore vitality, and burn away diseases. And as a ward, it could shield against unclean forces and undead.

Her magic was the bane of all undead beings!

As a result, whenever the undead knights were attacked by her flames, those injuries completely stopped regenerating. That was why all three of these foul creatures now kept their distance from her. They did not attack her, but they did not let her and Virion leave as well.

A few times, Virion had attempted to move away from this battlefield and assist another ally. But every time he was stopped by one of these undead knights. And when Anna came to the rescue, the monsters would rapidly retreat.

The enemy's battle plan was becoming increasingly clear to Anna. And her frustration only grew with each passing moment, as she knew there was another Mana Core Magus patiently biding his time along with two additional undead knights.

Right at that moment, a giant, blinding, and deafening explosion thundered

across the Summer Sea. All the Magi, the cultists, and even the undead knights

turned toward the source of the explosion.

Anna's eyes locked onto the crimson flames erupting at the harbor, and she

murmured in awe and slight disbelief.

"He's really done it..."
