The massive reinforcement army finally reached the battlefield and merged with the Union's forces like a roaring tide seamlessly meeting the shore.Banners from countless factions fluttered side by side beneath the morning sky. Soldiers who had moments ago stood on the brink of despair now erupted into cheers as fresh ranks filled the battlefield behind them.
The thunder of marching boots and the pounding hooves slowly came to a halt. Then, from the front of the newly arrived forces, several figures rode forward.
For a moment, the battlefield grew strangely quiet. These were powerful individuals who normally ruled their own territories and factions from afar, figures whose meetings alone could shake continents.
Yet now, all of them had gathered in one place for a single purpose.
To wage war against the forces of evil.
Lucian Acadia sat atop his majestic warhorse and rode to the frontlines. Flanking him were the Ruler of Nahua, the King of Baja High Forest, and the leaders of the Four Pillars of Acadia.
From the other side, Berger Glynhorn rode atop a giant black wolf. He casually smoked from his pipe as he scanned the allied forces, looking for a particular person.
"I cannot sense him, Berger," Blackie said in a solemn voice.
"Aye." The gnome nodded. But he wasn't worried at all, for he had full faith in the person to make it back alive, no matter where he was.
Behind the two rode the other Councilors of the Twilight Brotherhood and several other Mana Core Magi of the Sovereign Union.
And trailing further behind them… was the giant Kitsune herself.
When Valerian, who was perched upon Anna's shoulder, caught sight of the two-tailed fox, his eyes lit up, and he darted toward her.
His tiny figure rode past the soldiers in a bolt of gray light and finally arrived before the giant fox. The others seemed to be extremely wary of the beast, but Valerian was strangely comfortable in her presence.
"You're here!" he said in surprise. "I didn't think you'd come!"
The Kitsune lowered her gaze, her blue eyes locking onto Valerian's tiny frame. Her eyes softened, and she lowered her head. She took a subtle whiff of the little guy and gently said, "You've grown stronger, little one."
The young dragon eagerly nodded. The Kitsune raised her head and looked around, her piercing gaze causing everyone else to shudder involuntarily.
"Where is that man?" she said.
Valerian instantly turned downcast. But a moment later, he said with certainty. "Don't worry, he's here!"
After greeting her, he then turned around and bolted toward Blackie. He nimbly climbed the giant wolf's figure and dove into the gnome's embrace. "Old Berger!"
Berger's expression turned warm and gentle as he patted the little guy's furry head. "It's alright, Little Val. We're here now."
"Myu!"
The Mana Core Magi from the reinforcement army dismounted and arrived at the forefront of the army, where the other commanders had gathered.
When the Emperor of Acadia arrived before the commanders, his presence instantly caught the others by surprise. Just from his aura alone, they could tell he was an exceptional Magus. He was regal. He was noble. And he was undoubtedly powerful.
Experts from Yen-Lu recognized him as one of — if not the — strongest Magi in the Allied Force. His presence reminded them of another individual, someone they'd only recently confronted.
The moment he arrived, he immediately became the center of attention. It was as though everyone else were mere planets, and he was the sun.
The Proud Sun.
Lucian removed the helm and offered a nod of acknowledgment to all the commanders, who had been fighting tooth and nail for all this time. He placed a free hand on his chest and tipped his head slightly.
"I thank you all," he began. "You have suffered. You have buried comrades. And yet… you still stand here."
He raised his head, his golden eyes gleaming in the morning light.
"That alone is worthy of respect."
The next moment, he turned around, his eyes narrowing. "Now, then."
His gaze scanned the party of devils and humans patiently waiting at the center of the battlefield. Three people in particular caught his attention.
The devil.
The lich.
And…
The Honored One.
However, before meeting the enemy commanders, he still had something to do. He turned around and scanned the group of Mana Core Magi, his brows gradually furrowing.
"He's not here," the Hermit said softly. "We believe he's trapped in the Shadowmuir."
At this point, there was no longer any need to keep Adam's disappearance a secret.
Earlier, the Hermit had feared that revealing the truth would shatter the army's morale. But now, after witnessing such a massive force and so many powerful Mana Core Magi join their side, he doubted the soldiers would even consider desertion anymore. At the very least, their minds were no longer on Adam's absence.
After saying those words, the Hermit had expected some kind of negative reaction from the Acadian Emperor.
But instead, Lucian just smiled.
"Fret not," he said confidently. "He'll come."
"The boy wouldn't miss this for the world," Berger said, his voice filled with certainty.
Lucian nodded in agreement.
He then turned around, his white cape fluttering behind him heroically. He mounted the warhorse in one swift motion and declared:
"Come, then. Let us look our enemy in the eye and tell them…"
His gaze turned sharp.
"So long as we stand, this world shall not be conquered!"
The Proud Sun instantly assumed command of the Allied Forces. Strangely, none of the other powerhouses objected. To them, it only felt natural.
And so, with Lucian at the lead, a small retinue of powerful Mana Core Magi from every corner of the world rode forward to meet the enemy.
The combined strength of the two armies reached a staggering figure, nearly a million strong. Never before in the history of this world had such numbers gathered upon a single battlefield.
This was the scale of the Great World War!
Even the Doom of Feypore had not witnessed so many Magi clash at once.
And now, as the commanders of the two armies rode forth to meet one another, history itself was being written.
It was the birth of a legend.
A song that would be sung for thousands of years to come.
Because on this day, the mighty heroes of Tron stood against the devils of Hell to defend their world.
At the same time, within the dark echo of Tron, deep inside a shadowed cave, Adam slowly weaved the final hand seal and activated the runic formation that he had been tirelessly working on.
The mysterious symbols etched onto the ground lit up one after another. Following that, the shadows from Rekan and the other devils' corpses rose and merged together, shooting upward into the air.
The darkness twisted upon itself and formed a black portal.
With determination in his eyes and his heart steeled by resolve, the Dark King silently stepped forward and entered the portal.
Finally, the time had come...
To face Aldo Wagner.
