Chapter 2082 Adam's Fate

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

"Sister."

Voraxus growled as he read the words on the parchment.

He turned his gaze toward Venia and spoke with barely suppressed rage, "Have you gone mad?"

Venia ignored him and kept writing. She was just about to conclude the story when suddenly Voraxus slammed his hand on the table.

"Sister!" he roared.

Venia finally looked toward her brother and calmly said, "Behave yourself, little brother."

Right at that moment, the Pen in her hand trembled. It was almost about to slip free from her grasp.

Venia's expression turned grave. She couldn't allow the Pen to escape. The last time it had slipped from her grasp, it had begun writing a story that ran counter to her plans.

So she quickly focused on sealing the Pen once again.

Taking advantage of her distraction, Voraxus snatched the stack of parchments from the table. He looked at her with anger and disappointment before walking to the other end of the chamber and sitting down.

While Venia sealed the Pen of Manifestation and placed it back inside the box, Voraxus started reading the story that she had been writing for the last two years.

The story read as follows:

It was just another bright and sunny day on the grand supercontinent of Myrrandor. Many Magi arrived on this planet. Many left it.

For the countless civilizations scattered across the universe, such things were hardly worth noting. The universe never stood still. Neither did Myrrandor.

As one of the most prosperous worlds in the known universe, it attracted people from every corner of the stars. And on this particular day, another traveler arrived from far, far away.

His name was Adam Constantine.

But due to unforeseen circumstances, his teleportation was disrupted by slight turbulence.

And so, he was knocked slightly off course…

While Adam and Valerian spent the next couple of months stranded in the middle of the Sea of Storms, Venia Somnia had already infiltrated the Free City of Davos.

But her arrival immediately alerted the Dragon of Davos, Ajax!

Ajax was a powerful silver dragon and one of the Unknown Lords of the city. He wielded an ancient artifact that prevented dragons from entering the city and wreaking havoc.

And yet, Venia Somnia had done the unthinkable. Before Ajax could confront her, she had already arrived at his lair at the heart of Mount Davos.

Needless to say, Ajax was greatly surprised to learn that Venia was from the mysterious Somnia Clan. Not only that, but she was also its heir. She made a proposal to him, one that he found very intriguing.

In return for secretly letting Venia and her brothers Voraxus and Valerian reside in Davos for some time and not revealing their presence to the other powerful Magi and Paladins in the city, Venia would help Ajax and his allies in removing the Known Lord, Nigel Norwood, from office.

Not only that, but the Free City of Davos would also gain the friendship of the powerful Somnia Clan. As the heir to the clan, Venia's words carried tremendous weight. And so Ajax happily agreed.

The Stryker Pirates coincidentally happened to pass by the island Adam and Valerian were stranded on.

Unfortunately for Adam, he spent the next half a year working as a slave on the pirate ship. He was surprisingly obedient for someone who was hailed as a king in his homeworld.

But this was all a facade! Adam pretended to be a mortal and lowered the pirates' guard. He bided his time, sharpening his blade in the dark. What a treacherous young man!

He loved his little brother, Valerian, so much. He gave him all of his meals, lying to him that he already had his fill. Once Valerian entered Adam's spirit sea, Adam would eat the leftovers.

Such brotherly love! So touching!

***

Land ahoy! The grand metropolis of Davos, the City of Marvels, was finally on the horizon. The Stryker Pirates' destination was to be the Dark Port, where they would sell their slaves.

But, of course, fate had other plans.

Adam, who had been patiently biding his time, sprang into action!

With the help of an artifact left behind by a powerful, mysterious, and funny existence, Adam shapeshifted into the pirate, Swale, who bullied him for the past six months. He killed the pirate and stuffed his corpse in an empty wardrobe.

Coincidentally, when the harbor officials came to check the ship, none of them neared the wardrobe where Swale's corpse was hidden. That would ruin the whole story. It was completely reasonable that the officers wouldn't check every inch of the ship.

Adam was quick on his feet. He shapeshifted again and blew the whistle on the Stryker Pirates, who were pretending to be merchants at the Davos Harbor. What a fascinating shapeshifting artifact!

The Watch was summoned, the pirates caught, and Adam's revenge fulfilled.

Adam entered the Free City of Davos and was mesmerized by all that he saw. Little did he know, the Brand of Evil had already attracted danger.

Things were supposed to turn very dire for him, but Adam was somehow able to mask the Brand, both physically and spiritually, barely in the nick of time to escape from the fiendling attracted by it.

Adam Constantine was a man of many secrets, it seemed…

In his escape from the devilspawn, he coincidentally arrived in front of a tavern run by one of the Unknown Lords of Davos, the great adventurer Hannibal.

Unbeknownst to our main character of the story, the enigmatic Hannibal not only recognized the Brand on his hand, but also that Valerian was a dragon!

Hannibal immediately grew suspicious of Adam and Valerian. No dragons should have been able to enter Davos, yet Valerian somehow did. Truly suspicious. So he decided to keep a close eye on both.

In the days that followed, Hannibal grew fond of the two brothers, Adam and Valerian. He vouched for Adam before the City Watch, told him more about the Brand of Evil, and decided to help the youth settle down in Davos.

Adam reminded Hannibal of his younger self, so he took an interest in him.

The flow of fate around Adam Constantine was strange. So very strange. Venia tried to tamper with his fate and bring him misfortune. She intended for the devilspawn to find Adam through the Brand. She wanted to utilize the Brand to drive a wedge between the two brothers.

However, Adam's fate corrected itself in mysterious ways!

And so, just when the Brand was about to cause Adam great harm, fortune shone upon him in the form of the great adventurer Hannibal.

Hannibal provided Adam with the handwraps and helped him deal with the Brand of Evil. Not only that, but he also gave the youth the necessary buffer period to help him settle in the city.

Venia Somnia had no other option but to think of other ways to accomplish her plans.

While Adam acquired the necessary permits to settle in Davos, fate moved its invisible hand in the background.

Aneesa prepared for the descent of her master, the Mistress of Blood. Esmond Greene succeeded in finding clues that would lead him to his long-lost lover. And a very old and desperate Magus in the heart of Davos looked to extend his lifespan by any means necessary. All would converge in the future.

Plans within plans within plans! Venis Somnia was very thorough!

To make matters even more interesting, characters from the mysterious Domina Occulta and the Great Noble Houses of the Imperium were added to the story, much to Venia's dismay.

Not to mention, the Old Mistress was also alerted when Adam Constantine bypassed the barriers of Myrrandor and landed directly upon the planet instead of its moon.

Let the great story begin!
