“Even if I join hands with you, nothing will change.” Shen Ze snorted, “Only Immortal has the power to protect our worlds. You’re not involved with the cultivation genre.”
“You’re right about that.” Mascot nodded, “I cannot take over your worlds as they don’t conform to what I represent. But, I definitely can take you under my wing. After all, reincarnating individuals in other worlds by bestowing them cheats is my thing.”
“So, this cheat that you claim would allow me to adjust to one of your worlds?” Shen Ze asked.
“Yup,” Mascot clapped with a chirpy tone, “You’re absolutely right about that. There’s a strong world under me that is ruled over by hundreds of Gods that manage millions of worlds. It would be a large enough world to accommodate you and your fellow immortal Gods.”
“I need some time to think.” Shen Ze hesitated, wondering if he should head to Immortal’s support.
“If you’re thinking of heading to the place where Immortal is at, I advise you refrain from doing so. Regression’s power is covering that universe. The moment you try to leave it, you will regress into the state before you were a sperm. Only Genre Representatives are immune to that power.” She spoke.
“I’ll do something about it. As long as I save Immortal, we’ll be able to leave that place.” Shen Ze retorted.
“You don’t have the freedom of time though.” Mascot sighed as she pointed at him, “Look, in the past few seconds, you’ve lost a minuscule portion of your strength. Didn’t you notice it?”
“W-What?” Only then did Shen Ze notice the issue. Even though it was a minuscule amount, his strength still regressed a little. Based on the state of his body, he determined that his body currently resembled what it was a couple of days ago. Meaning, he regressed by two days already.”
“It’s slow but gradually invading your body too. Over time, your regression would accelerate and you’ll lose all you’ve accumulated.” Mascot extended her hand, “It’s an unavoidable fate for your worlds. I can only save you as an individual, if you choose to come under me.”
“So, what’s your decision? Save your skin or lose everything you’ve ever worked on…” Mascot didn’t even finish her argument to see Shen Ze extending his hand towards her.
‘This fucker!’ For a moment, she was pissed at how easily Shen Ze was ready to jump ship, allowing her to understand that the individual before her moved only for personal benefits and nothing else. Instantly, she changed the cheat that she had prepared to give him, changing it to something that better allowed her to monitor him, so that she could prevent him from defecting to the side of another Genre Representative or even worse, the Systems.
After all, it seemed Zhen Ze was still ignorant about Conjurer’s actions, ‘If he knows that he has a chance in creating different worlds to become a Genre Representative like Conjurer after siding with the Systems, then he would definitely do that.’
“Alright, here’s to a sound cooperation.” Saying so, Mascot shook hands with Shen Ze, seeping a certain power in him before transmigrating him away to one of the Isekai worlds.
She then stretched herself, groaning in exhaustion before looking through the universe before her, “Hmm, there are some talented ones here. They would just be devoured by the Systems after this.”
“Let me send them away too.”
…
“No…Shen Ze, this fucker!” Immortal paled in response as for a moment, he expressed nothing before exploding in anger. Though a second later, he was akin to a slumbering beast.
With every world of his that Martial stole, the makeup of his collective consciousness changed, and that resulted in momentary inactivity in Immortal. Moreover, these changes constantly altered his inherent nature and character.
“These bastards are too much!” Truck-Kun screamed in rage as he got up and created another truck, parking it beside the struggling Immortal. “Why are they such idiots?”
“This is…beyond me.” Hazen sighed as he got up, unable to do anything anymore as he uttered, “I’m unable to stop the erosion of his mind. He’s losing too many sentient races from his worlds. Unless we can return to his world, it’s impossible to form a solution here.”
“Leave…it…be…” Immortal groaned all of a sudden, reining in enough sentience to speak as he stood up, controlling his wobble to stare at Stencil and Gehera, “The two of you have potential. Continue to grow.”
He then looked at Compass Carburettor, “I’ve been an embarrassment as a Genre Representative. My current state is proof that this genre is dying. It has been on a downward spiral for some time already.”
He stared at Truck-Kun, “I’ll leave the rest to you.”
“Don’t make this seem like your final words.” Truck-Kun glared in anger, “You can still return to your worlds and cure yourself…”
“Too late,” Immortal sighed, “I no longer have the power to do so. The army of Gods that formed more than half my strength have joined Mascot. Some of the diverse cultivation worlds were claimed by Magister while the basic cultivation worlds are under Martial now. The immortal worlds are rapidly losing their support now. They still exist, but their foundation is being branched out to nullify the cultivation genre.”
Finally, Immortal stared at Hazen, “I’m sorry. The most I could do is cut off your home world from the cultivation genre to prevent it from being targeted by Martial for the time being.”
“If possible, revive my genre. Even otherwise, let it be.” Immortal sighed before he strode down the mountain, arriving at the Realm’s exit as he said, “There’s just exhaustion in my fading collective consciousness. After this day, there will not be the concept of a cultivation genre anymore.”
“Stop!” Compass Carburettor said in alarm, “Just remain put. We’ll do something to save you…”
Roar!
Immortal unleashed a guttural roar all of a sudden, akin to a bloodthirsty wolf that glared at Compass Carburettor and the rest, treating them as food to devour. A moment later, a tinge of sentience flashed in Immortal’s eyes as he stared in regret before jumping out of the Realm.
Grrr!
There was no longer any speck of intelligence in Immortal, with power no longer funnelling into him anymore. All he had was the power in him and the dregs of character left in his dissipating figure.
Immortal stared forth, spotting the Invader System as he let out a roar and slammed into the other party, beginning to rapidly tear into his opponent.
