Chapter 2639: Re: Demon Realm Amusement Park

The Magic Area had an atmosphere that could only be described as a mysterious magical city. We had been moving along a rainbow bridge, and just as we reached a somewhat large, plaza-like area, something caught my eye.

There were several color-coded circular areas there, along with a sign that read Warp Portal.

Arehh? Could this be Previously, during the birthday party, I had seen Kuro really getting into a game, so I invited her to play another game together, and we had played it together. At the time, a facility with the same name had appeared in the game.

It was essentially a fast-travel feature, allowing you to instantly move to predetermined locations, and I remembered that Kuro had seemed quite interested in it.

[Isnt that different from a teleportation magic tool?]

[H- Hmm, Ive never seen anything like that either. Judging by the map, I suppose you can move to locations corresponding to each color? But what about the cooldown?]

Lilia-san tilted her head slightly as she answered Aoi-chan. It looked similar to a teleportation magic tool, but perhaps it would be more accurate to say that it was something different from the teleportation magic tools we had seen until now

[This is just a guess, but considering what I think was the inspiration that Kuro was interested in I dont know how it actually works, but I think its something like having Teleportation Magic constantly active while restricting the possible destinations, so you can move simply by stepping onto it Shall we give it a try?]

Saying that, I stepped into the red circular area among the several Warp Portals, and I was instantly transported somewhere else. Unlike a teleportation magic tool, there was no delay from selecting a destination or having a magic circle appear. It really was instantaneous.

I looked around for a little while, then stepped outside the red circle before stepping back into it, and I returned to where Lilia-san and the others were.

[This is incredible! It could revolutionize distribution. I imagine the locations would have to be fixed, but if you could use it without having to wait for a cooldown]

[Hmm, but I think this probably means long-distance travel isnt possible, or even if it is, the construction costs would be far too high.]

In response to Luna-san, who spoke as though she were genuinely astonished, I told her what I had felt after actually using it. It certainly was incredible technology, and as Luna-san said, if it could be used for logistics, it would indeed revolutionize the industry.

However, if that were possible, there would be no reason for it not to have already been implemented by one of the trading companies Kuro owned, and Kuro was hardly reluctant to make that sort of technology available.

The fact that this hadnt been done meant there had to be some kind of limitation, whether technical or energy-related As I was thinking about that, Alice suddenly appeared with a wry smile and gave us a brief explanation.

[Ah~~ Kaito-san, youre right. Kuro-san and I made it as an experiment, but its basically a cheating piece of equipment. In theory, it works by keeping Teleportation Magic constantly active, but the magic crystals currently in existence couldnt possibly provide enough power. If we tried to make up the difference, wed need something like a magic crystal the size of a mountain, and even that wouldnt be enough.]

[Ah~~ errr, so what youre saying is]

[Yep, just as Kaito-san imagined, the reason this can actually operate is because of that thing in the central area that Shallow Vernal-sama created, the infinite power source thing thats practically picking a fight with the very concept of energy. Without that, we currently have no prospects of installing these anywhere outside the amusement park. That might change if we discover something capable of storing vastly more magic power than magic crystals, or some other source of energy though. For now though, its just a convenient facility exclusive to the amusement park.]

To sum it up, for the time being, this was simply a convenient means of transportation that could only be used within the amusement park. The reason it was only in the Magic Area and nowhere else was probably because it was something unfamiliar even to the people of this world, so rather than introducing it everywhere at once, they had decided to implement it experimentally in only a few areas.

But certainly, if something like this a teleportation magic tool that could be described as a constantly active type could be implemented, it would drastically change the way goods were distributed. However, for that to become possible, they would need something capable of adapting to magic power and magic formulas with performance far beyond that of magic crystals, or perhaps some completely unknown form of energy Speaking of pipe dreams, then it certainly could be considered one.

However, the possibility of discovering some unknown energy or mineral in the future was not zero, and there was also the possibility that someone with a special ability like Tre-sans, which allowed them to alter magic crystals themselves, might be born and give rise to something new, so perhaps there was a possibility that this dream could become reality someday.

Alternatively, technology brought over from the otherworld could potentially lead to rapid development, so there was no telling what the future might bring.

Yes, certainly that was what I thought.

At the time, I was merely letting my thoughts wander with a light sense of anticipation for the future.

I never dreamed that, shortly afterward, an item brought to another world by a god would become the catalyst for discovering a way to evolve the properties of magic crystals.
