Sunset Forest, true to its name, is bathed in a golden glow every time the sun sets, appearing exceptionally beautiful.

However, at this moment, Sunset Forest is shrouded in an eerie atmosphere; the trees appear unusually dark, and the air is filled with a scent of decay.

The three ventured deeper into the forest, where the trees grew denser, blocking out the sun, with almost no light penetrating through.

The forest is eerily silent, with no birds calling or insects chirping, only the sound of the three treading on fallen leaves.

Luo Chen walked ahead, carefully observing the surroundings, hoping to find some clues.

Suddenly, he halted, his gaze fixed on a strange mark on the ground.

It was a paw-like imprint, but much larger than a typical Demonic Beasts’ claw mark, and the soil around the imprint bore a bizarre black color.

Luo Chen crouched down, touching the soil around the imprint with his hand, feeling a chilling coldness.

"What is this?" Qing Shuang and Mo Han also approached, looking at the imprint on the ground, eyes filled with confusion.

"I don’t know," Luo Chen shook his head, the sense of unease within him growing stronger, feeling as though he was approaching a great danger.

"Be careful," Mo Han said, drawing the Longsword from his waist, watching the surroundings warily.

The three continued forward, as the atmosphere in the forest became increasingly oppressive, as if something in the shadows was watching them.

Suddenly, a piercing scream shattered the tranquility of the forest, the sound sharp and shrill, making one’s scalp tingle.

"What sound is that?" Qing Shuang’s face changed, gripping her Longsword tightly.

"I don’t know," Luo Chen shook his head, feeling his heart race, as a foreboding premonition surged in his mind.

"Let’s go take a look," Mo Han said, heading first in the direction of the sound.

Luo Chen and Qing Shuang closely followed, the three of them cautiously weaving through the trees, heading towards the source of the scream.

The further they advanced, the clearer and more miserable the scream became, as if conveying some form of agony.

Finally, they reached the source of the scream, and the scene before them left them stunned.

In the clearing in the center of the forest lay a mutilated corpse, the ground around it soaked with blood.

The limbs of the corpse were torn apart, its internal organs scattered, the sight of its death extremely gruesome.

Luo Chen and the others stared at the scene before them, their hearts filled with shock and fear.

They had never seen such brutality before, surpassing the realm of ordinary Demonic Beasts.

"What... what did this?" Qing Shuang’s voice trembled as she spoke, covering her mouth to stop herself from screaming.

"I don’t know," Luo Chen shook his head, feeling a churning in his stomach, as an overwhelming nausea rose.

"We must leave here quickly," Mo Han said, sensing the atmosphere around them becoming increasingly ominous, as if danger were approaching.

The three turned to leave, only to find a shadow appearing behind them.

The shadow slowly emerged from the forest, revealing its true form.

It was a monster over two meters tall, covered entirely in black scales, with a pair of curved horns on its head, its eyes gleaming with bloodthirsty light.

The black-scaled monster let out a deafening roar, causing the three’s eardrums to throb painfully.

Luo Chen’s face turned pale, never having seen such a terrifying creature, and a strong sense of crisis rose in his heart.

Qing Shuang swiftly drew her sword, pointing its blade directly at the monster, eyes cold, as if facing a formidable enemy.

Mo Han also drew his Longsword, standing in front of Luo Chen, shielding him.

"What on earth is this thing?" Luo Chen asked in a low voice, his voice trembling slightly, feeling his legs start to weaken.

"I don’t know, but it’s definitely not an ordinary Demonic Beast," Qing Shuang responded, her tone still calm, though the hand holding the sword trembled slightly.

"Be careful, this guy won’t be easy to deal with," Mo Han cautioned, sensing the powerful aura emanating from the monster, incomparable to any foe they’d encountered before.

The black-scaled monster roared again, taking massive strides towards the three. Each step shook the ground, like an earthquake. Luo Chen felt his heart pounding, knowing they were truly in trouble this time.

"Mo Han, you and Qing Shuang handle it together, and I’ll find a chance to launch a surprise attack," Luo Chen said, knowing he was no match in a direct confrontation, opting for a flanking strategy.

"Alright, be careful," Mo Han replied, aware of Luo Chen’s abilities and knowing he wouldn’t act recklessly.

Qing Shuang said nothing, merely nodded, understanding now wasn’t the time for words; they had to give it their all.

Mo Han and Qing Shuang simultaneously charged at the black-scaled monster, one from the left and the other from the right, displaying flawless teamwork. Mo Han swung his Longsword, Sword Qi surging, aiming straight for the monster’s vital points. Qing Shuang moved nimbly, continuously maneuvering around the monster, searching for opportunities to attack.

The black-scaled monster roared repeatedly, its massive claws swinging like the wind, each attack carrying immense power. Although Mo Han and Qing Shuang coordinated well, they struggled against such a formidable beast.

Luo Chen observed the battle from a distance, knowing he couldn’t act rashly and had to wait for the perfect moment. He closely watched each of the black-scaled monster’s movements, searching for any weakness.

The battle continued for a moment, with Mo Han and Qing Shuang gradually falling behind. Their clothes were torn by the monster’s claws, with several wounds appearing on their bodies.
