Chapter 5613: Accountable!

<Warden Yrsa>

An existence that gave THE Sealed One problems was not to be underestimated.

Yrsa held that thought at the center of everything as her hand pressed the wedged band.

Whatever this Blood-Crowned One was, a vessel of the oldest deceiver in existence had walked away from him, and things that made THE Sealed One walk away were things you learned about before you stood in front of them!

She needed knowledge. She had every advantage at this exact moment, and advantages were not things you saved for later!

So she moved, within spans of nanoseconds, while the capability of the Dimensional Inhibitor still held its subtraction over everything it had swept!

She could not do it to the Descendant as he was special. But she did not have the time to obtain information properly, and she did not need to, because information was lying right there in the dark, pinned under chains.

The steed.

It was now just a beast of flesh and bones! No authority. No curse. No frameworks, no ladders, nothing left in it that existence would even bother to name, and its brain held its memories and informstion all the same, so...

Warden Yrsa put her hand on the head of the fearful steed, ruthlessly, without a single word!

And she extracted.

Her power poured down through her palm into a skull that had nothing left to answer with, and the little steed’s whole body seized against its chains as its eyes flew wide, and it screamed, and no sound came out! Its jaws strained against the loomlight bindings in total silence as its memories were dragged up and out through the tearing, hours and years and a thousand cursed years hauled backward through flesh that was only flesh, and blood began to leak from its eyes, running down its face in thin dark lines as its silent scream went on and on!

Skallagrim’s roar shook the crossing-dark!

He heaved against the half-closed band with everything in him, his shroud flaring ragged, and the steed’s rolling eyes found him one last time through the blood!

And then...

BOOM!

Its head could not withstand the authority tearing across its existence!

The skull of that glorious steed burst apart in the dark, and the silent scream ended, and its entire existence simply ceased, every thread of it going out at once, and what lay pinned beneath the chains was a lifeless corpse that had been uncursed, and free, for less than a single day of its long and obedient life!

"...!"

And Warden Yrsa breathed in.

Her eyes, pale and unmoved through many collarings, showed tremendous surprise!

Because the memories were in her now, hours of them, and what they held was... more than she had reckoned for! Far more! Her mind ran through them within nanoseconds, and her conclusions rearranged themselves, and she did not waste a single one of those nanoseconds standing still!

She moved.

Warden Yrsa appeared instantly behind Skallagrim, and her hands waved once!

HUUM!

Hundreds of radiant white swords manifested out of the loomlight, blades woven purely from THE Argent Loom, and they poured into orbit around the rageful figure of the Descendant, circling him in layered rings, and every single one of them came to rest a single millimeter from his skin! Points at his throat, his spine, his eyes, his fissures, hundreds of terrifying weapons of terrifying authority holding at a millimeter, so that any motion from anything, anywhere, would see them pierce him in but an instant!

Because existence outside the Dimension behind them had begun to tremble and shake!

Even without turning, Yrsa sensed the immense pressure that had arrived, pressure that had no business existing inside a region her Inhibitor had swept, and she turned her head calmly and gazed at what stood in the crossing-dark!

A manifestation of the Blood-Crowned One!

Crimson gold, crowned in blood, floating in the black with stellar light rolling off his frame in slow waves, and he had not just appeared here! Across her senses, similar manifestations were appearing in various areas of THE Ymnaros Dimension, above the citadel, over the northern skies, before the cages themselves!

But it did not matter.

She had already sent her commands within those same nanoseconds, to Axon, to the shrouded units, to every position her order held: utilize the prisoners. The chained and the collared and the caged were no longer captives now, they were leverage, placed exactly where they needed to be to control the flow of whatever battle would be commencing!

Warden Yrsa breathed out, and she looked ahead.

The manifestation before her was one of his clones, she knew that much from the dead steed’s memories, and his entire expression was unfathomably cold and rageful! Crimson gold eyes with singularities turning in their depths bore down on her with a weight that surprised her, his gaze moving once across the corpse of the steed, once across the hundreds of blades holding a millimeter from Skallagrim’s skin, and back to her!

And Yrsa was unfazed even as her existence pulsed as she felt like she was being looked at by something ancient! Haha, just who was this fucker to make her feel like this?

She shook her head slowly, and when she spoke, her voice was as calm and plain as it had been all afternoon.

"What an arrogant and unique piece of work you are." She glanced at the wedged band on Skallagrim’s throat. "Healing the curse of Steeds and cursed Descendants? Sheesh."

The dark trembled around his silence.

"I see you are angry. But it is nice to meet you." She tilted her head. "From the memories of that sad steed that unfortunately died after the memory extraction... I see you have been busy since curing Hvitrmarr and coming here. You even went as far as to cure a cursed Descendant. To give something salvation... when it was not your place to do so..."

"Who knows what more you would have done if I had not come along?"

The manifestation’s rage pressed against the crossing-dark, and still he did not move!

"But seeing you pause in rage there, you seem to already grasp the situation at hand." Yrsa raised one finger, and every blade in orbit brightened.

"Any move from you means this cursed Descendant, well... not cursed anymore... it means that this Descendant, and that dragon inside the Dimension, and all the others that my people have shackled and bound and inhibited... will die."

"So I advise you not to make a move."

The blades turned slowly at their millimeter, and Skallagrim’s shroud flickered between them, and his crimson gold eyes burned at her back with something that had no words in any tongue!

"I will even go as far as to say I don’t give a damn about this Descendant. Or the steed inside. Or that ugly looking thing with severed hands on its head." She said it all evenly, without a shred of heat. "If you just bring your body here... I can swap their freedom for yours. After all, they are merely followers. You are the leader."

Warden Yrsa clasped her hands behind her back, and looked into the cold rage of the Blood-Crowned One, and finished plainly.

"It is always those who lead that need to be held accountable. And I wanna hold you accountable, O Cure-Giver. O Blood-Crowned One."

Her pale eyes were very steady.

"I want... to hold you accountable."

HUUM!
