Chapter 1013: First High Rank, Lord Status.

Alec turned back and walked toward the two halves of the Grimfang Alpha’s corpse, he raised his bone handguard toward one of the severed halves.

At the surge of his intent towards the weapon, a sharp bone spike shot out from the guard and pierced one half of the body as he activated the absorption skill, and the bone essence was being drained dry, After he had finished draining everything he needed from that part of the body, the bones turned gray and crumbled into a fine, ashen powder.

When he was done, he moved to the other half and repeated the process.

Still, the notification he had been waiting for did not appear before him, now that his Changdao had already advanced to a Tier 7 spirit-weapon status.

It meant that he no longer needed to rely solely on the Second Seal before he could injure a Tier 8 human mage outside or most Tier 7 demonic beast in the beast forest, as his weapon alone was already capable of that.

He had hoped to push the bone katana to the same level too, but it was clear that would take much more time than the Changdao.

Swoooshhh!

Alec looked up at the sky as ten familiar yet unfamiliar cybernetic golems streaked overhead, all flying toward the Ice Region.

Then he felt it, the aura of Legion, Oni, and Magnito coming towards him, he turned just in time to see Legion descend first.

There were two pairs of glider-like wings behind him when he was flying which folded smoothly into his back, locking into place as if they had never been deployed at all, the moment his feet touched the ground, Legion dropped to one knee.

“Master!” He greeted with his right hand across his chest like a sign of respect for him, but while he was busy with all this Alec was already busy trying to pull up his status tab, as Legion before him was his first true high-rank golem.

He knew his grandfather had three Tier 7 golems too, and he remembers how his grandfather always spoke with pride about his “big three,” and how the joy was unmistakable on his face whenever he mentioned them.

Alec couldn’t help but wonder how that old man would react if he knew Alec now possessed a Tier 7 golem of his own, however that thought lasted only a moment, as he realised his clan was still in danger, and they were the reason he pushed himself this far.

Alec’s focus hardened, centering on a single question: Just how powerful was a Tier 7 golem, truly?

Seeing Legion’s status tab made Alec slightly stunned, just his physical attributes and mental stats alone already added up to over three thousand, and that wasn’t even counting his weapon multipliers or new class that comes with all sets of special ability of the scout class.

Then there were the new skills, a lot of them, but the most eye-catching change was his mana pool, it had doubled.

With this amount of mana, Legion could unleash his barrage-type weapons without worrying about running dry anytime soon, it was overwhelming.

And this was only what Alec could see directly, not even accounting for how terrifying Legion’s attack power would become when he used his new spear or any of his constructed firearms.

If there was one thing Alec was absolutely certain of, it was this, Legion’s technology and weapon systems must have evolved alongside him into the High ranks which means they too would have gotten much more badass than they were.

While still studying the status window, another prompt appeared, asking if he wanted to open the tabs for the Captain-ranked Cybernetic Golems under Legion’s command.

This was something that has never happened before, so Alec froze for a moment when he saw that notification.

As if sensing his confusion, the system spirit immediately sent another notification message he had missed.

[> Cybernetic Golem summons of Lord Legion are no longer restrained by their Legions rank. They can now perform their own summoning, their summoned units are restrained to the Peak Tier 5 realm. Each Captain under Lord Legion can summon up to ten additional Rare ranked Cybernetic Golems.]

Alec’s eyes widened slightly.

Only then did he remember a message he had once seen when Titan entered the Tier 6 realm. He had completely forgotten about it, it pretty much means that when a main golem advanced high enough, even their summons gained the right to form their own subordinate units.

Those units would be created using the summon’s mana, while the materials and construction cost would be paid with Alec’s system points.

In other words...

Legion wasn’t just a Tier 7 general rank golem just in title, he pretty much means summoning Him means you get his small high end army as well.

Not that it really mattered much, since the number was still quite small, but clearly, as long as they were Captain-ranked and had reached the Mid rank, they were eligible to summon subordinates that would always be one realm below them, just as they themselves were one realm below the main golems that had summoned them.

Basically, Alec had already calculated that his main golems would need to reach Lord status, which was the Tier 7 realm, before their summons could truly develop.

As only a Lord-rank golem could have its summons fully integrated as Captain-ranked units.

With that realization, Alec began to understand that he was on the path to creating a small army.

Legion had entered the high ranks, and he had ten Captain-rank summons, each of whom could grow to be as strong as most human Tier 6 expert mages, and each of those Captains could, in turn, command up to ten Rare rank Tier 5 Cybernetic Golems.

That meant a potential force of over a hundred Tier 5 cybernetic units, backed by ten Tier 6 Captains, all under a single Tier 7 Lord, and this was only the beginning since Alec still had over 6 other main Golems, when considering the fact that Titan was still in the process of evolving.

“Rise. Let me gaze upon you,” Alec said to Legion after reeling in his shock.

Legion stood up, still slightly towering over Alec though a little more higher, but it wasn’t just his height that felt different, there was a new presence about him, a sense of maturity that hadn’t been there before.

Before this, even though Legion had always been taller, Alec had never truly felt that weight, it was more like watching a teenager wrapped in a powerful cyborg suit.

Now, it was different.

It was as if Legion’s entire construction had finally caught up to his authority as Alec started to feel maybe Legion entering the high ranks and becoming a General-ranked golem had changed him fundamentally.

His posture, his aura, even the way he stood felt heavier, steadier, more commanding, His new facial mask, which replaced the T-shaped helmet design, covered his entire face, leaving only narrow openings for his eyes and a line of tiny holes running straight down from the nose area to where his mouth should have been.

It was giving him a cold and imposing presence, as even the refined cybernetic armor surrounding his body looked sharper, denser, and far more lethal than before, everything about him just screamed power.

One thing, however, remained constant.

Legion still looked incredibly badass.

“Master, you’re looking really handsome,” Legion said, causing Alec to raise an eyebrow.

“You don’t have to flatter your master like that,” Alec said, feeling that Legion was just being the loyal subject he always was.

But then Legion raised his left hand, and a transparent shield formed in front of it.

Slowly, he adjusted its density until its surface became smooth and reflective, like a mirror, which Alec instinctively looked into it, and the first thing that escaped his lips was a sharp gasp.
