So when Alec came around and saw the bodies of five Tier 7 Yetis, he was clearly surprised, the only regret he had was that he hadn’t been fast enough to witness their killing, the thought that his golems had grown enough to kill five Tier 7 lifeform of the Beast forest without his presence told him all he needed to know of the progress in his golem army“Master,” they all greeted immediately, with Legion finally landing on the ground and moving toward Alec, who walked beneath the massive glaciers towering above his head.
Just as he was overseeing Titan’s evolution, which he was sure would be ending soon, he received a prompt from the system spirit asking him to let it out, with no idea why the system spirit had reached out to him like this, he swiftly released it.
“Ahhh, I finally see the skies again, you naughty boy, you should let me out more often, leaving me cooped up inside the system doesn’t help you that much, you know,” the system spirit complained in its golem form.
But Alec only stared at it with the same blank gaze, uninterested in its ranting and far more interested in what it actually wanted to tell him.
“Okay, you asked me earlier to make sure all the experience gathered should be pushed through to the Hive Queen. Truth be told, at that moment I felt you were acting out of emotion because of everything she had done.”
“So I planned to explain this to you later, but unfortunately it seems it can’t wait any longer, because a certain golem of yours has entered the Tier 7 realm, causing its killing power to rise another notch and clearly breaking the limit of the maximum experience I can help you contain.” The system spirit was still speaking when Alec stopped it by raising a hand up, and looking slightly lost.
“Please, can you go straight to the point and make your words understandable? Right now, all you’re doing is confusing me even more,” Alec said.
“Okay then, let me explain in layman’s terms, I have decided not to push the experience to the Hive Queen, because her soul has already departed from this space and returned to the original plane where your body is.”
“If I had followed your request and pushed the mana toward her, it would have triggered a breakthrough that would push her out of the space pouch you keep her inside and the aura from her breakthrough would definitely draw massive attention, something you’re clearly trying to avoid, especially since you still plan to make an escape later when they lower their guard against you.”
“So I had been planning to hold all the experience that would surely be gathered and let you decide later what to do with it, however, as it turns out, Legion’s squad, along with these three main golems of yours, were responsible for killing over five Tier 7 lifeforms.” As the system spirit spoke, it made sure to point at Butcher, Hunter, and Saint.
“Which has touched my limit, and I can no longer hold it in, so I have to ask you, how exactly do you want to share the experience points that have been accumulated?” The system spirit finally revealed its main intention.
“Hm, when I got ready to enter the Beast Forest, I was only hoping I’d be able to gain two Tier 7 golems, but it seems from all this, I could get one more,” Alec said lightly.
The moment he said that, the soul light in the eyes of the main golems flickered. But there was one that stood out—Butcher.
He instantly dropped to his knees dramatically.
“Please, Master, consider me first,” he said, feeling as though his salvation had arrived, the thought that he might finally get the breakthrough he had been desperate for made him act shamelessly before his master without hesitation.
However, just before Alec could reply, the system spirit’s next words made him feel as though he had been drenched in cold water.
“Puu, who is this? Alec, I would implore you not to even consider evolving any golem to the Tier 7 realm before Titan finishes his own evolution. I don’t think you’d want to separate your team so soon, on the contrary, you can try upgrading Legion’s summons, and if you still have an overflow, you can try pushing it toward their minions,” the system spirit said.
The moment it spoke, Butcher could feel his chances of entering the Tier 7 realm disappearing as quickly as they had appeared, even he couldn’t deny that the system spirit’s words made sense, and from what all the other golems understood, Alec always listened to the system spirit as though he were heeding the guidance of a sage.
“When did you start acting so nice? The you I knew before wouldn’t hesitate to devour a large portion of the experience points just to keep yourself awake longer, instead of only popping up whenever I asked a question and the system had to force you out with a reserve energy,” Alec said, staring at the system spirit’s golem body and pretending to search for where the real spirit was hiding.
“Ohhh, why doubt me when you already know me so well? Of course I devoured a large part of it so I could stay awake, or why do you think I was so eager to come out and play?” the system spirit shot back, with a smug smile displayed on its mechanical screen-face.
Alec then nodded, as this being was the version of the system spirit he was far more familiar with, it was clearly trying to act nice because of the fact that it had already consumed a part of the experience points.
“Okay, go ahead with the process, send the experience points we have toward the ten captains under Legion first, all ten of them should be able to enter the Peak of the Tier 6 realm before you move what is left of the experience to Oni, he’s the next target for evolution,” Alec said, shocking the golems around him.
They had all almost given up hope when they heard the system spirit trying to convince Alec that the best course of action was to invest in Legion’s new army.
But to Alec, he believes pushing all ten captains of legion to the Peak of the Tier 6 realm alone would make them so strong that, with Legion leading them and supported by his summons and their army, then they would form a force even more formidable than the one he commanded with the rest of his main golems.
He was looking toward a future where Legion’s crew would take charge of escorting the next evolving golem into the required special region, however; for now, he still saw their rare rank summons as extra hands, ones that would be refined and strengthened later, after all his main golems still has reach the Tier 7 realm.
Because even though he agreed with the system spirit’s arrangement, he still believed that investing in his main golems was ultimately more important.
That was why he intended to do both, using part of the system spirit’s plan to shape and strengthen the one he had already envisioned.
“No problem then,” the system spirit said, flicking its hand toward Number One first as he instantly entered the low Tier 6 realm immediately the energy from the spirit system touched him.
