Chapter 1031: Golem Mage 1.

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

The moment Alec threw his own words back at him, the City Lord was left completely baffled, as his mind went blank as he struggled to decide his next move, all this time, his entire battle strategy had been built on one foundation: that he had numerical superiority over the Gordons Clan.

But now, even that very foundation was crumbling before his eyes, and it wasn’t even because Alec had suddenly given the Gordons an overwhelming advantage in numbers to support them. No. That wasn’t the true problem.

The real problem was Legion and Titan.

Legion had casually slaughtered a group of Tier 6 mages, forcing him to panic and deploy four Tier 7 mages to suppress the threat.

But instead of stabilizing the battlefield, that decision had completely backfired, as not only had all four Tier 7 mages been killed, the manner in which Titan had executed them had carved a deep scar into the hearts of everyone who witnessed it.

In a single exchange, the morale of the City Lord’s army had shattered, and then, as if that wasn’t enough, Alec Golems had summoned a mini-army.

Everything about it felt deliberate, like a carefully premeditated trap meant to plunge his forces into total chaos.

Yet the truth was that none of the Gordons Clan had known Alec would appear like this today, from the moment they realized the City Lord would eventually break through their defenses, they had already prepared themselves that there was a likely high chance they might die in battle.

Their only goal had been to protect the clan’s honor and buy enough time for the women and the kids that escaped the chance to be out of reach, the Patriarch stared at the hundreds of golems now standing before Alec, his own grandson, unsure of how to process what he was seeing.

But he wasn’t alone in this surprise.

Many others were equally stunned. The fact that Alec’s golems could summon golems, and those summoned golems could also summon more made them dumbfounded, the concept alone shattered everything they thought they understood about Golems all these while.

As they looked at Alec now, they no longer saw just a prodigious mage.

They saw a war general.

A true embodiment of the title:

One Man Army.

“Kill them all,” Alec finally commanded.

Like a raging torrent, the three General-ranked golems swung their weapons forward, granting their Captain-ranked golems free rein to unleash absolute chaos upon anyone who dared to stand against the Gordons Clan.

Although, aside from Legion’s squad, the other two could not field a full set of Tier 6 Captain-ranked golems, however; it didn’t really matter.

As every Captain-ranked golem was already capable of fighting above its realm, and no matter how difficult the battle became, they were peak Tier 5 golems, dealing with Tier 6 mages was a norm for them.

In fact, this battle was like the perfect opportunity for them to break through and enter the Tier 6 realm. Alec had already made it clear to the Captain golems that he would not interfere too much in their gains, and that every point of experience they earned in battle would belong solely to them and their respective squad.

However, Legion was a special case, three of his Captains had already reached the Peak of the Tier 6 realm and could no longer break through any further for now, since their own superior was just a Tier 7 golem.

Because of that, Alec had asked the system spirit to redirect all the experience they gained toward the rest of Legion’s Captain squad.

Starting from Number Four onward.

Numbers Four through Ten were all lined up to be pushed toward the Peak of the Tier 6 realm as well, because once Number Four reached the peak Tier 6 realm from the overflow kills from the other three peak Tier 6 realm Cybernetic golems, the priority would shift to Number Five, and so on.

The same applied to Titan Ice Golem captains too, if his Number One Captain, Bulwark, killed any mage, all the experience he earned would be transferred to the Second Ice Golem Captain instead.

The Gordons’ mages watched as Alec’s golems charged toward the mid-rank battlefield, momentarily forgetting that they were still participating in the same war, as the city army ignored them completely and focused on the golems.

“Aaahhh!”

Seeing that the three terrifying General-ranked golems were not the ones personally leading the charge, the City Lord’s mages finally gathered the courage to move forward, as they rushed toward the golem army that was surging in their direction on the frozen grounds.

At this point, there was no longer any clear separation between the mid ranks. Tier 6, Tier 5, and Tier 4 mages all poured forward together in a single tide, but once the clash began, they instinctively searched for opponents that matched their own realm.

After realizing that the front line of the opposition Golem army was dominated by Tier 6 golems, the Tier 5 and Tier 4 human mages of the city lord army didn’t even try to force their way through.

As they left the frontline to the Tier 6 mages, waiting for them to engage with the Tier 6 golems so they could move around them to the sides and engage the golems that matched their own realms.

They were fully prepared to let their strongest face the most terrifying.

At the forefront of the Golems’ charge was Bulwark, Titan’s Number One Captain.

By raw stats, he was supposed to be slower than the Captain-ranked Cybernetic Golems of Legion’s squad and the Captain-ranked Oni Shinigami Golems of Oni, but just like his direct superior, Titan, Bulwark loved leading from the front.

While the Cybernetic Golems advanced at a steady pace, Bulwark left his own summons behind, overtook the remaining Ice Golem captains, the Oni Golem Captains, and even surpassed the Cybernetic Golem captains who had been leading.

Seeing him dash forward with two shields strapped to his arms, Number One’s mechanical face curved into a faint smile, as he had no interest in competing with Bulwark for the lead.

When they were barely twenty meters away from colliding with the human mages, Bulwark leapt off the ground, launching himself straight into the midst of them.

Using the momentum of his jump, he punched downward with the curved shield on his right arm, the Tier 6 mage in his path, seeing the terrifying force behind the attack, immediately abandoned any thought of counterattacking and thrust his hand forward, casting a water barrier around himself.

Bulwark’s shield slammed into the water barrier.

Because of the nature of water, the attack didn’t pierce through the water barrier. Instead, it struck the dense, resilient bubble barrier which absorbed and dispersed the force.

But Bulwark was nothing if not stubborn.

As he landed, he followed through by pushing the full power of his charge on the barrier, forcing the mage to retreat several steps backward, even though the barrier had spread the impact across its entire surface, it didn’t mean the mage could remain unmoved.

The remaining force still reached him.

And that was enough to drive him back, step by step, under the overwhelming pressure of Bulwark’s advance.
